HumbugWhale · 06/09/2021 22:10

I think that's quite a common effect Em.

First day at school done. Everyone v tired, including me but it all seemed to go well!

Happierwithouthim · 06/09/2021 23:10

Happierwithouthim · 06/09/2021 23:16

€8 gym class

  • €40 sold my air fryer used about 3 times, I prefer my halo even if it is on the way out, better get saving! €50 soccer membership fees

I tidied up my YNAB last night, I just needed to borrow from my emergency fund last month & then repaid it once ex paid his share of back to school.

Going to make a fresh plan for sinking funds too

Gensola · 07/09/2021 07:36

I’m about to call the Student Loans Company to change my name and address with them as I haven’t managed to do that since moving before the pandemic and also getting married.
I haven’t received a statement from them in about two years so hopefully they can tell me what is still owed on the loan. Last time I checked a few years ago it was £7k so hoping it’s a lot less now. But I need to access my payslip online so I can tell them how much exactly they deducted last month, and our HR portal isn’t working 😩
Also need to call old car insurance people and cancel the renewal.

ememem84 · 07/09/2021 15:42

I’ve amended our house insurance to remove a shed and to add my new ring.

Spends £11 on ear defenders for the kids - were watching the air display on thursday

Humbug glad it was a good start to term.

Em the Sabby Jabby caused my periods to go haywire too.

Camden I am convinced that prices are going up. I am dusting off my cheap eats again.

life the kids around here fund raised for their skate park and pump track so it is free to use. It is on Parish Council land and is covered under their insurance. Those were the days when our PC was more concerned with current residents rather than ones who are long dead.

Another NSD. YaY

SingToTheSky · 07/09/2021 18:40

Signing in! Keep falling off the thread, not being frugal AT ALL.

We currently all have confirmed covid. Only found out through a close contact (Caglets’ friend who then got ill the day after) and DH also had a pre-op PCR which picked his up. We are all fine other than tired and a bit achy, just annoyed at the crappy timing 🤣

Spends recently… I can’t even. Seriously just no. I am leaking money I think. 🤣

Wolfcub · 07/09/2021 18:55

I am experimenting with starting (giant) baked potatoes in the instant pot. We are short on time and they would take hours in the oven alone. And before anyone says I don't own a microwave, I hate the things.

Unescorted · 07/09/2021 19:01

Sing I hope you stay not too poorly and GWS

Wolf the quickest way I find is sticking metal skewers through them and baking in the oven. It is quicker than the Microwave.

HumbugWhale · 07/09/2021 19:47

Oh no Sing, I hope you are all ok.

Alfiemoon1 · 07/09/2021 21:29

Hope you are all ok sing

Alfiemoon1 · 07/09/2021 21:34

Lovemaltesers · 07/09/2021 22:09

Gen l bet the amount has gone down a lot lovely Smile
Happier excellent sales woman you Grin we never use our air fryer either , it gave off so much steam which then caused condensation we couldn't use it Hmm

Beautiful day here hope everyone had a smashing day Smile

Gensola · 07/09/2021 22:39

Oh no, sing hope you all have a mild case!

Happierwithouthim · 07/09/2021 23:49

NSD truly nothing left my account or my wallet Halo Grin

Sing glad to hear ye have mild cases of Covid, I dread everything reopening here in six weeks time.

Dc are staying with their dad tonight which never happens mid week. So I came home from work & spent time on Instagram, walked the dog, went to personal training & then home for my dinner.

Tomo eve I'm going for reflexology after work so I'm bringing a portion of chilli con carne for my lunch.

Going to work early with dc gone so 30 mins overtime in the bag.

Unescorted · 08/09/2021 06:44

Today is going to be a spendy day. I have an empty fridge and my car is back for a couple of days. I need to shop for another 2 weeks.... I think as dh can't seem to make his mind up what days he is home and when he is working away.

sing hope you are improving. Numbers are rocketing around here again despite numbers of tests going down, which is a worry.

I can't believe it is only Wednesday. By Monday I was longing for Friday.

ememem84 · 08/09/2021 06:49

We are expecting numbers here to rocket back up by the end of the month. People back from holidays. Schools back. Clubs back on etc.

sing I hope you and the family are ok xx

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/09/2021 07:19

£20 on pizza tea last night for ds first day at school.
Cases are so going to go up.
Gonna be hot today

SingToTheSky · 08/09/2021 11:59

Thanks all! We really are all fine just a bit tired. And hot but that’s probably the weather 🤣

Back to “school” today, DD1 had agreed to do extra study at home this year anyway (she’s going into year ten) so will just do that and any work the school set while she’s off. Bought a science book for her yesterday. Had a maths lesson today, I’m so so glad I finally embraced online teaching as I can still earn!

Waiting on an interview invite too… got the acknowledgment on Monday but not heard anything else yet. 😬

Hope everyone’s returns to school etc are going ok. Totally understand the worry about increasing numbers 😫 I guess I don’t have to worry about catching it again in the near future (and being double stabby jabbied is reassuring too) but still, not nice to think about it all going crazy again is it :(

Booked our flu jabs too, luckily for after isolation ends!

Happierwithouthim · 08/09/2021 13:28

Unescorted some weeks just go slower than others don't they?
