I would love a pizza oven! It would be a good gift for dh but I might have to wait until he has a significant birthday!

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/10/2021 15:01

£7k of fees paid today. Poor savings

Lovemaltesers · 26/10/2021 16:00

Yay life, it’s moving along though. So money well spent.

I have had the most runny nose ever, all weekend and lived on lemsip. It’s finally stopped now, but I went to smell a candle before lighting it, and I can’t smell a thing. So I haven’t bothered.

DH took stuff to the dump tomorrow day. I love getting rid of rubbish! 😆

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/10/2021 16:09

I have a tip slot booked for tomorrow and a car full of gear to go. Might need a second slot

Unescorted · 26/10/2021 18:04

An essential accessory for the pizza oven is a peel. Other than that you can eye ball the embers for the temperature and who has ever needed a dough proving box.

There are some really grim colds doing the rounds atm. poor DD has yet another. For all of the poorly ones I hope you feel better soon.

Mrsmadevans · 26/10/2021 19:22

Mrs I am concerned now about her only having 1 set of bedding per person. What if they are sick/have a nosebleed/wet the bed? All of which have happened recently in our house Sad

Watched GBBO and have just got into bed. I am shattered, probably a direct result of all the afore-mentioned interruptions to my sleep!

Lovemaltesers · 26/10/2021 21:37

DD2 was sick everywhere this evening. I feel your pain humbug

HumbugWhale · 27/10/2021 07:12

50 duvet sets - wow! Do you have different ones for Christmas etc?

Hope dd is ok Love. Cleaning up sick it the worst.

ememem84 · 27/10/2021 08:23

mrs that’s a lot of duvet sets. I’m imagining a wonderful Airing cupboard.

Dm has about 20 sets though. 4 bedrooms.

We have 8. 2 for our bed and three each for the dcs beds.

I’m having a bed day today. Have a bit of a cold. Just a cold. Dsis made me do a lft yesterday.

But am on holidays and need a day to veg.

HumbugWhale · 27/10/2021 09:32

I'm attempting a quiet day too Em. The dcs may have other ideas but they are content for now. If they are climbing the walls later we'll go to the park or something.

ememem84 · 27/10/2021 09:40

I’m staying in bed till 11. Then getting up and moving to the couch for Netflix.

This packing and cleaning lark is blooming hard work

Unescorted · 28/10/2021 06:52

life pack a house up is one of the worst tasks - worse than pairing the socks or scraping the mould out of forgotten mugs.

Em I could do with a duvet day.

We have 1 set each.... and a couple of shared sets in case there is an accident.

I will need to spend money today.... I have run out of coffee. DH decided that coffee was good for him. No Me either. So he has been drinking several cups a day. Evidently several since I had my cup yesterday.... no wonder he is struggling to sleep.

For those of you with teenage DS - how long does the eat everything and anything stage last? And how much Nutella on toast can a person eat before they suffer side effects?

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/10/2021 07:10

That’s a total face palm moment. Has he not heard of caffeine?

HumbugWhale · 28/10/2021 07:27

@Unescorted I've been on residential trips with year 10 and 11 where they have eaten their dinner, usually 2 courses and then immediately asked if we can go to McDonalds! I am in awe if how much food teenagers can put away, they are bottomless pits. Also dreading when we have 3 of those to feed!

Unescorted · 28/10/2021 07:50

life apparently not.

Humbug It is exactly that - eat and then 2 minutes later eat again. I had been warned and thought his sister didn't have a huge change to diet and because of the cycling he has always eaten a lot so it won't happen to us. How wrong could I be.... his breakfast is a full loaf of bread with Nutella, he gets a Greggs on the way to college, has lunch, another half a loaf when he gets home, dinner and the remaining half a loaf as a snack before dinner. Plus protein shakes to stave off the thought that he might be hungry after the gym.

CamdenLurker · 28/10/2021 08:07

Unescorted- we have to hide Nutella in this house because ds2 18 will eat an entire jar on anything, toast, bread, crumpets, pancakes, waffles, a banana or just on a spoon. I used to say once it's gone there will be no more, but dd1 also likes it and would like to eat it every now and then, so now it goes right at the back of the baking cupboard and I'll occasionally get it out and ask if he'd like some.

It was the same with peanut butter, but he's the only one that likes it and now I buy the whole earth healthy stuff it seems to last a lot longer.Grin

marthasmum · 28/10/2021 09:38

Oo I read the tidying thread too (great minds) and it has inspired me to a clear out! I've enjoyed it more than DP 😂 I've got rid of lots of kitchen stuff, some bedding and duvets - I'm not a big hoarder but my inspiration is having clear surfaces. DP does love a knick knack 😳
It's funny how emotional 'stuff' is isn't it?
Off this week and had a lovely week so far doing stuff. Spent a lot though so will need to dip into savings, but feels worth it. I will wish I had had a rivet day next week when I'm back at work.
Going to Emmaus today, not sure if other people have them, it's like a giant charity shop which funds a project for homelessness. Will have to try not to buy too much - we are going for a lamp...

marthasmum · 28/10/2021 09:40

50 duvet sets is a lot mrs but I bet you've changed a lot of beds in your time!
