Unescorted that is amazing well done on the gnocchi 👍✅
So sorry to hear about your poor Dad bless you all💐
Life l know re the soup 🤣 it was so creamy and thick and smooth, it tasted nice but l think the consistency reminded me of Baby sick when they had the Carabel thickening powder in it 😂😂😂

Mrsmadevans · 30/09/2021 21:32

Born fingers crossed for you re the bathroom, won't it be worth it when you have it all done for Christmas 🎄👍👏🤗

Mrsmadevans · 30/09/2021 21:51

Love not keen on Gnocchi either but l am sure the fresh is much much nicer 😋
Good luck with this job interview 👍👏
Meadow you will be ok in labour with this cold, they will look after you lovely. 💐
"Life* hope PCR negative 🤞, the Spicery kits are fab 😋
Martha well done to your Mum for fundraising 👏👍
Humbug hope you are feeling better 💐
Can you get another quote from someone else for your car ? Only we had a second quote to do our brakes and it was the same chain of garages ATS and they gave us 60 less for the exact same work. The foreman in the first garage always quotes more (we've discovered) and says it's with the discount card for over 60s but he isn't honouring it . I should have complained but l simply don't have the time to do it 🙄
Grannycake aw that s so sad bless them , it's so difficult for them and us 💐
Happier cannot beat it 👏❤️
Love 💐

-ve result whoop whoop

£116 Sainsbury’s shop coming today. I still need to go To Aldi and M&S but really cba for a big shop

ScreamToTheSky · 01/10/2021 08:27

Unescorted so sorry about your dad 💐

Yay for negative test life!

Love good luck with your interview!

Spendy yesterday paying for DS’ tap lessons and his first chemistry lesson. And some maths stuff but that’s business expenses. Today I’ll need a taxi to the jobcentre I think. Don’t fancy swimming there 🤣☔️

In other news I got the job. Starting induction and all that jazz week after next. Hasn’t quite sunk in.

marthasmum · 01/10/2021 08:36

mrs making me laugh with the baby sick soup.
scream that's fantastic, so well done! Hope you are feeling happy abs not too nervous
Just off for another PCR as I've now got W cold, I'm sure it is just a cold but I'm seeing my mum on Sunday and she is very nervous about COVID. I hate the drive ins for PCRs, it makes me feel very stressed!
Sending thoughts unescorted and granny and fully agree with what you have to say on information sharing (or not). It must be so stressful in those kinds of situations to work round other relatives who are blocking you

marthasmum · 01/10/2021 08:38

Ps mrs I have a soup maker from Asda and find it really good, I like the fact I can put it on and forget about it, and it blends better than I could! But if you like your slow cooker and stick blender I'd save the money and stick with that

northender · 01/10/2021 08:56

Great news on the job scream
Sending virtual hugs unescorted you are doing a great job. Find HM gnocchi a bit underwhelming for the effort it takes (and mess it makes, as you said)
Yay for negative test life
Personally I find the prep and cooking process therapeutic and so a soup maker isn't for me, but I take short cuts, the Bamix is great for chopping veg. Often when I use the slow cooker I prep the food as normal but just cook in the pot except if rushing.
I'm in need of a cupboard stock up so am thinking of trying a once a month store cupboard shop and then just weekly fresh top ups, to save time now I have less of it. Will try aldi this weekend.

Lovemaltesers · 01/10/2021 10:45

Amazing news scream. We all think you are amazing Star

Hooray for the negative test life

Going to the testing site makes you feel like an incredibly infectious human being martha. Even if realistically, you should come back out negative, once going there you feel like you must have it. It’s horrible!

Very short visit to Ddad. He looked around and said “terrible place” Sad . He snaffled the biscuits I brought, then wandered off and never came back. I guess on the plus side, he still enjoys a biscuit Grin

Need to get focused and get a job app finished (deadline today) and another one due Sunday but would like to get that done too.

Lovemaltesers · 01/10/2021 10:45

Where has em gone?

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/10/2021 17:24

Em was last seen under a pile of balloons for ds party. Hopefully she is being whisked away for her birthday tomorrow

MeadowHay · 01/10/2021 17:50

I was wondering about Em too, hope she's ok!

Congrats Scream!

Good luck with job app Love.

Martha Oh no hope you're soon better and hope it's negative.

Midwife came earlier, going to book me in for induction on the 19th if no baby by then. Eek. Hopefully won't come to that but equally don't want them to arrive til I'm over this horrid cold. I can have a sweep when she comes next week if I want, not sure if I will fancy one or not though tbh. It was soo painful when I had one last time.

NSD as DM kindly paid for me and DD's drinks and cakes in the play cafe and then also paid for our few bits of groceries in Tesco AND I got the clubcard points. Feel embarrassed as usual but also blessed to have generous and financially stable/comfortable DPs.

Plan for tonight is to go through my birth plan with DH and print it off, agree on a boy's name, and re-learn how to use the TENS machine. Then early-ish night. Was meant to have my friend over later for a catch up but have cancelled as feel too rough.

HumbugWhale · 01/10/2021 19:45

Happy Friday everyone! I'm a bit behind I think, busy couple of days.

I saw Scream's good news though - congratulations!

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/10/2021 20:07

Great news scream

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2021 22:12

Wonderful newsScream 👏👏
Meadow OMG , you mentioned that sweep word and the pain and it all came flooding back 😱
Does it really make any difference? I just the no it's another chanc of getting an infection 🙄
Sorry to put you off lovely 💐

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2021 22:19

Meadow I looked on the Nhs site and it says a sweep should not hurt . Honest to God when they put that on there it doesn't give you much confidence does it 🙄
Don't be embarrassed about your DM paying for your grocery and coffee and cakes . We love looking after you. 🤗
Hope l don't put you off the sweep it's Just as well you know what is going to happen lovely .
Anyway we forget about it all when they are here 🤗❤️

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2021 22:21

Love AHH your poor DF , it must be difficult for you to see him like this too 💐

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2021 22:26

North yes l am the same as you l like doing the prep for the soup too now you have said 🤗
Life yay!
"Martha* your soup maker sounds brilliant but like you say l think l am going to stick with the slo cooker and my stick hand blender 🤗
Spend 39 Lidl today stocked up with crisps, boxes of latte , shampoo, toothpaste and soap 🤗

Alfiemoon1 · 01/10/2021 22:33

Great news scream well done
Oh the mention of a sweep reminds me of the chaos when ds was born grade 4 placenta previa massive bleed at 27 weeks in hospital for 6 weeks all over Christmas just in case as dd was 7 weeks premature planned c section under general anaesthetic had to sign a consent for a hysterectomy if they couldn’t stop the bleeding changed consult who said they would do it under epidural had a scan placenta had moved at 36 weeks so they did a sweep cue massive bleed rushed to theatre dh being told to follow by the midwife to be told not to by the consultant as it was now going to be a general anaesthetic again. I didn’t need the hysterectomy which is now annoying as I am begging for one due to having awful problems with my periods and being peri menopausal lol.

Just catching up on the thread hope everyone who has been feeling poorly feels better soon

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2021 22:40

Omg Alfie you are lucky to be here by the sound of it! 💐
Thank God you are both ok 🤗

Alfiemoon1 · 01/10/2021 22:42

Meadow my sweep didn’t hurt and my circumstances were extreme hope i didn’t put you off i know plenty of ladies who have had them no problems and my best friend of nearly of 30 years is a midwife. I just like to cause chaos and drama in everything I do nothing is every straight forward and easy with me lol

Alfiemoon1 · 01/10/2021 22:57

I think at the time I didn’t realise the severity of it as I felt fine after my bleed i was still walking dd up to pre school and then when stuck in hospital would wonder off the other end to the cafe or shop if I had of gone in to labour the placenta would of come first they have 20 minutes to get the baby

I was exactly the same when dd was 7 weeks premature I was 8 weeks so of course she will be fine it was only after I realised the severity of it when Gordon brown’s baby died that was premature and weighed more than dd did

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2021 23:12

That was so sad , they called her Jennifer Jane . I can remember it like as if it was yesterday Sometimes you are better off not realising the severity of things 💐 🤗
Alfiemoon1 · 01/10/2021 23:47

Definitely ahh this reminiscing is bringing a tear to my eye as dd now seems to be not speaking to me she was a dream baby you could set your watch for her nap times an adorable toddler but a flaming nightmare young adult since she’s met her boyfriend

ememem84 · 02/10/2021 07:17

I’m here!!! Fell off then got caught up in a whirl of work balloons parties etc.

DH decided that last night we’d have a pub tea. Which was nice. Got there and dparents and dsis were also there. A surprise birthday party for me. Yay!

Because today is my birthday day but it’s ds’ party day. So it’s all about him. Birthday has been shelved (by me) until party is done.

Will read back and catch up properly later on.

meadow I ended up having a sweep with dd. It didn’t hurt. But wasn’t comfortable.
