That sucks love :( I would’ve hoped unsuccessful interviewees would at least get a quick email. I haven’t heard either - they said Friday afternoon but then the interview invites were late too, so not sure yet - maybe they just aren’t organised?!

SingToTheSky · 27/09/2021 12:21

Maybe that’s the case for you too and the advert is because that person got a different job?

Wolfcub · 27/09/2021 18:11

Love the current recruitment system has added an awful amount of time to being able to notify candidates. I did interviews on the 9th and they only sent notifications to candidates on the 20th. That was after I'd chased a few times too

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/09/2021 18:18

I concur we are telling candidates up to 2 weeks to hear which is frankly rubbish

Lovemaltesers · 27/09/2021 18:23

Is it just the unsuccessful ones who are having to wait that long though? Wouldn’t you be speaking to the successful candidate to discuss quite promptly?

Wolfcub · 27/09/2021 18:30

Love technically we're not supposed to tell the successful candidate. I am a regular breaker of that rule though but that's down to how much risk the recruiting manager is willing to take

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/09/2021 18:40

We wait for the official notification for all
But as wolf says some will tell internal candidates

Lovemaltesers · 27/09/2021 18:42

Ahhh thanks wolf. I completely forgot to ask at interview how the outcome would be communicated! I’d assumed a phone call, as that was how I was informed for my first job, many years ago

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/09/2021 19:17

Email the recruiting manager live and ask them

Lovemaltesers · 27/09/2021 21:43

They said the outcome would be at the latest today. I think I’m going to try and be patient and leave it a couple more days before chasing. I’m not expecting to get the job, but would like to start the process of requesting feedback after getting the unsuccessful outcome

HumbugWhale · 28/09/2021 06:40

I can't believe how people are left hanging after interviews. In teaching jobs it is offered and accepted on the day of the interview which is much better for the candidates.

northender · 28/09/2021 07:06

Keeping fingers crossed for you love for positive news.
Had a lovely weekend away, back to work and reality yesterday. £70 on grocery shop. It's just me & dd here as dh and ds are in Devon for football, but back tomorrow. Enjoying the peace for now!!

Lovemaltesers · 28/09/2021 12:31

To be fair in teaching humbug, if you left giving the outcome for a week, your chosen candidate would have another job by then. Good teachers are like gold dust.

I’ve had an email from the recruitment contact but it’s about attending for interview. Something has gone wrong there! Still awaiting a reply…

Just spent around £65 at Argos on a mixture of clothes and toiletries for me and toys for DD 'from the baby'. That should be it for today.

Checked my payslip a few days ago and it is less than I expected with no mention of SMP. Majorly stressing about it. HR have got back to me but payroll is outsourced so all they've said is they're querying it with that company and will get back to me. I don't feel that's good enough really, I don't want to be unreasonable but this is a huge stress, I'm catastrophising now like 'what if I get no mat pay' type thing and it's making me ill. Struggling to think about anything else and God knows when they will get back to me. DH still has a bad cold and I'm worried I'm going to get it as well so desperately hoping I don't go in to labour anytime soon although I've already lost some of my mucus plug and have had an upset stomach for a couple of weeks, so I'm worried it might not be too long away. I am about 39w now after all.

Good luck Love. I've been ghosted a bunch of times after interviews (legal sector) and when I do get a rejection it typically takes 2-6 WEEKS via email. It's a joke.

Lovemaltesers · 28/09/2021 12:56

Now had the unsuccessful notification.

But I’ve just been invited to interview for another job. Onwards and upwards. And even better, interview is on my non work day so don’t have to tell my boss 😂

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/09/2021 17:59

Good luck love

Mrsmadevans · 28/09/2021 20:50

Now just concentrate on you and your beautiful baby, it sounds as of it isn't going to be long before they show their beautiful little face to the world . Take care sweetheart and wishing you the very best of luck Flowers
Mrsmadevans · 28/09/2021 20:59

North glad you had a lovely weekend , enjoy the peace they will be back very soon ! Grin

Mrsmadevans · 28/09/2021 21:06

I have made a Cauliflower , bacon and Camembert soup , it tastes lovely but it is awfully rich. A little goes a very long way Grin
Spends today 22 for tea tonight !
I couldn't face eating the soup so we had fish & chips instead Hmm Grin

northender · 29/09/2021 07:11

Good luck love
We're definitely into soup time now Mrs. I took some soup to work yesterday from the freezer and it was slightly off so a big disappointment and a waste...grrr.
Boys are back tonight. It has been peaceful with just me and dd.
Just had our British Gas email. £30 a month more than we were paying.

Unescorted · 29/09/2021 07:16

Aaaaaaand I am back. Thanks for the lovely messages. Dad is really unwell now. It has been a sad week prepping the kids for the inevitable.

Love sorry you didn't get the job but good luck with the next interview.

Meadow the employment law while on maternity is quite strong & well tested so as Mrs says it is most likely a blip.

em The All Blacks aren't all that. Even someone elses kids birthday party with added Haribo and Coke is more fun.

I was UberMum last night - I promised the kids gnocchi with macNcheese sauce. All fine except there was no gnocchi in any of the 4 supermarkets I tried. It would have been easier to get fuel. So I made the gnocchi from scratch. Surprisingly easy - but messy. Flour everywhere.

Anyway another day at work..... see you all later.

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/09/2021 07:52

It will e sorted meadow. As mrs says maternity stuff is in law. It’s a blip
Hey unescorted welcome back. Sorry ddad is fading, you know where we are.
Gnocchi is easy, I might make some for dinner,
Mrs that is so funny about the soups
And disappointing north
