Ill be interested to see what the gcse assessments are going to be. Ds1 has been amazing through all this and has kept up with his studies. Which I have to remind myself of when I discover he’s been up most of the night gaming with his mates...

Wolfcub · 25/02/2021 07:50

Love fingers crossed everything goes well for your dad. You've had such a worrying time

Sing fingers crossed for a good first Camhs app for ds

Hugs for Unescorted and Mrs and goodnight sleep vibes for Thursday night for Life

Thinking of you and your dad love 💐

Lovemaltesers · 25/02/2021 10:48

Thanks everyone

He was meant to be first in at 8.30am unless they have an emergency case. Hoping we hear an update soon!

Lovemaltesers · 25/02/2021 10:53

Just had a call from mum to say the hospital have called and Ddad has made it safely through the operation and now back on the ward 👍

SingToTheSky · 25/02/2021 10:55

Great news

Unescorted · 25/02/2021 12:27

Great news Love. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Curls I worry about DS - he has struggled to keep up at home, but is really bright and engaged at school. I am hoping his school get a bit of discretion with the use of different assessment elements. Their mocks were the week they got back from our 2nd lockdown and no one really took their revision seriously.

CurlsandCurves · 25/02/2021 13:13

@Lovemaltesers that’s great news.

@Unescorted it’s really pants isn’t it. DS has been relatively ok, he got decent mock results and has a conditional college offer. But my best friends son has been an utter nightmare, he just doesn’t do the work. Tells her he’s doing it, then she gets phone calls and emails from school to the contrary. Then, he tries to tell her school have got it wrong!

Unescorted · 25/02/2021 13:40

We had that sort of thing - he got a bollocking at parent's evening and picked up with constant mithering. It is getting better (more work, less nag) and when I just went into tell him that he needs to keep working on course work b/c it counts to assessment he was working without direction. I may have been underselling him. I will keep it watched.

Gensola · 25/02/2021 13:44

Hoping your dad has a speedy recovery love
Got bill of £500 from fertility clinic for drugs and other extras so no savings this month and have had to raid the savings also. Rage.

Wolfcub · 25/02/2021 13:54

Curls is your mates son twins with my ds? That sounds a remarkably familiar conversation. Luckily mine is still in year 9 but I suspect he will have the same attitude In year 11

Gen 💐

Camhs was good, I think. Need to email them previous reports and such. Bloody exhausting though, it’s quite intense being questioned not just about your kid but about your entire lifestyle etc 😬 she was lovely though and really seems to understand him

Lovemaltesers · 25/02/2021 14:06

That’s a big bill gen

Glad it went ok sing

DD2 will not do her writing work today 🙄 but as I’m working too, I’m only battling so much with her

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/02/2021 16:22

Amazing news!
AmberItsACertainty · 25/02/2021 18:16

I've just caught up with the thread. Ugh! at all the spot squeezers, you make me squirm 🤢 . I haven't even looked at the lockdown roadmap, I don't believe a word the government say about anything any more.

Happy belated birthday fear.

Glad DS CAMHS appointment is over sing, hard going at the time but at least it sounds like they were thorough with their assessment.

Love that's good news about your dad's operation.

Congratulations 🎉 on passing the exam life 🥂🍾

£190 on groceries, spent a bit more than usual because it has to last a few weeks this time. £348 on totally unnecessary but much coveted cuddly oversized jumpers, fluffy hoodies and a frilly dress.

£4 bakery couldn't be arsed making lunch after I'd been stripping wallpaper
£55 for repairs to blind, they lost it so sent a new one. Unfortunately it has been cut to wrong size so has had to go back. Back knackered from putting it up and taking it down.
Have cancelled order for the sofa chair that I ordered last august and which still hasn't arrived. I could do with the money back given all the unexpected expenses lately. Should be £240 back

YaY Life well done.

Sing that sounds positive if exhausting.

Gen that is hard timing. Flowers

Wolf how did you get on with your wallpaper stripping?

I am claiming my Mummy of the day award. Since finishing I have cooked 2 x coffee cakes 2 x hazelnut cakes and the Crème Patisserie all ready to assemble into a huge birthday gateaux for DD's birthday tomorrow. All in the 2 hours after work - I was a kitchen blur. Grin
