Hey, life, what was your exam? Sorry to have missed that bit - many congratulations.
To those struggling with adolescent motivation - I feel your pain. I cannot compute the hours I spent coaxing, nagging, studying alongside DS to get him through school exams and GSCEs. Changed schools after year 12 and started A levels again. Nearly got thrown out of new school. Turned out alright - actually, more than alright - but dear god! the struggle to get there. I think there's plenty, as a parent of a teenager, that you can do wrong, and plenty you can do right, and you should bloody well try to do right. But TIME and the changing adolescent brain is your best ally. Don't despair!
I am optimistic about lockdown exit, myself. DS back in art college on 8 March - they will be tested twice a week. We've booked a week in Devon for June, when we'll be able to see my parents (everyone will have been vaccinated by then, except DS, who's already had Covid). And the sun is shining, my iris bulbs are in flower, time to do a bit of work in the garden at last. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
