There's some new evidence re gestational diabetes and Covid so anyone who previously had gd has been asked to shield in the past few days

OP posts:
SingToTheSky · 23/02/2021 13:21

I rang to check and it’s because I had gestational diabetes when pregnant with Cagletini in 2017. I had seen rumours that was now a marker for risk so was wondering if the letter might show up.

Booked my jab for Saturday though! Turns out DH is now eligible too (due to other conditions, not because of GD 😆) but he will wait a few days to book his in case we both end up with side effects (unlikely I know, most people I know have been fine).

SingToTheSky · 23/02/2021 13:24

X post wolf :o

In any case it’s not going to make an enormous difference really - wasn’t working anyway (I don’t think tutoring in houses is allowed yet) and it seems I’m still allowed to go out for exercise? Which I was using the very local park for, I just walk round catching Pokémon 😅

I’m unsure about taking Cagletini to nursery - it does say it’s a guidance not a legal thing.

Wolfcub · 23/02/2021 13:24

If you are an unpaid carer for someone you should also be able to get a jab if it's recorded in your medical records. Mrs something to think about looking after mumbob

Those Eyebrows should have their own TV show. Grin

I have never had mine waxed, plucked or sugared. They are just naturally OK. I am too feeble to have legs, pits or bikini line waxed et al.... dh just has to put up with my Yeti look unless I shave them. I wear short type swimmers so as not to scare the children.

Sing I think I would have a melt down if I got a shielding letter - you seem admirably calm.

I have an afternoon of corporate back slapping. zzzzzzzz I might multi task and sort the washing.

SingToTheSky · 23/02/2021 13:53

I did feel pretty ffbnngrrrgrghhh when I got it TBH. Got DH to read it for me instead 😂 it’s a very wordy letter. I’ll try and figure out exactly what it means for me later.

Maybe I’ll use any enforced time at home to sort the house... hahahaha no

ememem84 · 23/02/2021 15:43

sing oh that’s a bit of a mare isn’t it?! Although I’ve seen other threads where people who had gd are now being asked to shield. Ffs. It never ends

On a plus. I had my coffee and Danish actually sitting in the cafe this morning. It was ace.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/02/2021 17:27

Antibiotics and strict orders to leave it alone. DD wants to pop it. I'm not allowed, or to video it. Sad

NSD today

Ah rubbish sing. Caglets can still go to school. It's only you that needs to stay home. Hope it gets you jabbed early thought

ememem84 · 23/02/2021 17:51

Just dropped my phone in the sink. And it landed in a bowl dh was leaving to soak. Ffs. This is exactly why I tell him not to leave thjngs soaking.

and exactly why he tells me not to balance phone on the windowsill above the sink

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/02/2021 19:10

Oops em

I want to make a halloumi curry, got the halloumi, it seems pretty frugal will let ye know if it's a success. I'm definitely a carnivore so it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

ememem84 · 23/02/2021 22:22

Phone seems to be ok. Phew. I fished it out pretty quick and it didn’t get fully submerged. Phew. I hate that dh is right....

Spent the evening messing about with the dc. Which was all fun and games until Dd bit ds. Ds then thumped Dd. I cuddled Dd. And she bit me. Little shitebag. 😂 then she pointed at me and said mummy. She sure knows how to win me over. I’ve been trying to get her to say that for ages and she never does it.

Anyhoo. Kids on bed and I’ve been watching drag race uk. Proper brain rot tv. But I’m always astounded at how men can make themselves look like amazing women. I love drag. So fun.

happier I’m intrigued by halloumi curry. If it’s good share the recipe please!

fear happy birthday 🥳

Limping to payday here. There will be some interesting meals Grin can raid the Brexit stash which is good.
Will have to spend today as posting a card and present to my friend who is about to spend her birthday in lockdown. Her birthday last year was one of the last times I ate out in the Normal Times.
Need to save extra money for the 12 April as have had emails from hairdresser and waxing salon saying they’re taking bookings, can’t wait!!!

Unescorted · 24/02/2021 06:42
