Born belated happy birthday to your ds. It is strange for them to have had significant birthdays during the pandemic, but memorable I think, just not in the usual way.
Really busy week as I'm off after today, until the 22nd so trying to get as up to date as I can before I log off tonight. I have a training session on Tuesday but I've had the invite sent to my home email so I don't need to log on to my work email.
No spends so far this week.
Dd has managed the return to school okay although as you say snuggly she is very tired. She was doing what you describe and waking up in time for the first lesson, now she has to be out of the house by 8 to walk to school & be on time.

Unescorted · 11/03/2021 06:53

Ha! DS had a record early tuck up in bed last night (8:30!!!). I have been kind and made his lunch so he can have an extra 5 minutes this morning. His chariot leaves at 8:15. He seems to have enjoyed the return - but we are going through taciturn teens atm so it is difficult to tell.

The explosion was all cleared up by the time I got out after work, but it still caused a FB stir. Someone thought it was terrorists but deleted the comment when some one else posted "I knew it was conservative around here but I didn't know we had got as far as Right Wing extremism". Maybe we should introduce teh commenter to your fil em - lock the door and walk away, By the evening we were all back to discussing cardboard boxes and missing dogs/cats and people from over 50. miles away.

Sourdough is shaped and in the fridge for its 2nd rise. DD will get baked camembert tonight if it comes out of the baskets. It is a really straightforward timetable so if it works I should be able to fit it in around work.

Speaking of which - have a lovely Thursday

SnugglySnerd · 11/03/2021 07:15

Well he sounds like a charmer Em! The problem with people like that is that there is no point arguing with them. They get satisfaction from thinking they have wound you up.

Wolfcub · 11/03/2021 07:24

Happy belated birthday Born's ds. First day back at school today. Expecting no dramas but I'm definitely expecting them next week when the novelty has worn off.

Totally exhausted this week and quite a bit of tip running/moving stuff around to do this weekend. I am not looking forward to it

Mrsmadevans · 11/03/2021 09:31

Em there are no words, your FIL is a complete nightmare! 💐

Mrsmadevans · 11/03/2021 09:33

Just off to MumBobs so cannot tarry (l love that word) 😊
Have a great day everyone 😚

Mrsmadevans · 11/03/2021 09:34

Oh yes hope all ok after the wind last night 🌃 Omg it was savage !

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 11/03/2021 09:34

Hi all just a quick log in to say hello.

Things are okay ish here, dd is doing a bit better and is happier now back at school. I've been off work for a while but hoping to go back next week.

Money wise have done well last two months and saved a lot due to lockdown and also no council tax for two months!

Hope everyone is okay.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/03/2021 12:24

Hey girlie, good to see you

Oh dear wolf. Did he get there ok?

Can't argue with stupid em

Nsd today

Unescorted · 11/03/2021 14:40

wolf hope he settles before getting home. Do you think that he will do the classic teen thing of waking up one day as a functioning human or is it more than "just" hormones?

Hi Girlie good to see you. I am pleased to hear that things are improving with DD.

This last year has been monumentally shit for teens and their long suffering parents. Just when they are exploring their place in the world they are cooped up with short tempered parents and irritating siblings. I am counting still breathing as a win.

Mrsmadevans · 11/03/2021 15:50

Girlie so happy for you re your Dd bless you both Flowers
Unescorted it has been horrendous for them and l feel we do need to cut them a bit of slack. I do hope everyones Dc wont be badly affected by the social deprivation they have had to put up with Flowers
Oh God Wolf Flowers

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/03/2021 18:17

£27 protein powder, £24 spicery

Wolfcub · 11/03/2021 19:05

Girlie lovely to see you. Glad dd is settling back at school

Unescorted good question it could be hormones. It could just be because he's an aggro little shit to be honest. I've definitely got to short tempered parent stage I really can't do with someone being in my space all the time so I'm hoping him back to school will help me come down off the ledge a bit

Lidl offers day, uses all coupons on stuff I buy anyway, cracking bag of shopping for £9.51, Yay.

Bornlazy · 11/03/2021 20:48

Thanks for birthday greetings x

Spends yesterday were £55 farmfoods my cats like the cat food from there so bought 4 boxes. They also had Radox hand wash 6 x 250mls for £1.89. It was the refill ones that look a bit like shower gel but at just over 30p each a total bargain.

Today spent £90 on Tesco delivery. Bought a good few Easter eggs as small ones (think they call them medium 🙄) are 75p and large ones are £3.95 instead of £5. I don't have to buy eggs for many people any more thankfully.

Wolf I feel your pain. DS2 is 15 and is in that would argue black is white phase which is mega irritating. I moan that he spends no time in our company but then when he does I just want him to stop talking -everything is somebody else's fault.

Girlie nice to see you and I'm glad that dd is improving.

em your in laws sound awful. I wouldn't want my dd to be influenced by them too much.

Wolfcub · 11/03/2021 21:40

You e nailed it with that description Born

We’ve been out for dinner at fancy hotel. We had a voucher courteousy of mil. For £200. Three course meal plus a bottle of bubbly. Because mil would want us to have bubbly.

Nice treat for a Thursday. I had scallops with pancetta and pea arancini, beef Wellington (the most delicious thing I’ve ever had) and chocolate hazelnut tart. So. Yum. I am stuffed.

Fearofawelshplanet · 11/03/2021 21:41

Happy bday born!

ememem84 · 11/03/2021 21:43

born I don’t want that either. Luckily I’m outspoken when I need to be and am strong and challenge things that are wrong.

Hoping Dd will be the same. Tolerant of everyone. Unless they’re twats.

I’m A smidge annoyed at dh. Because he’s said we’re all going to see Fil tomorrow. I asked whether I could stay home because all I want is time at home by myself. But dh said he’d really appreciate it if i was there too. So no much needed alone time for me.

I’m tempted to take a day next week and just stay in bed with my netflix.

Happierwithouthim · 11/03/2021 21:59

€40 80kg coal
€18 electricity prepayment, hate getting electricity bill so I pay weekly!
€17.09 replacement temperature control knob for oven, batch of curry & brownies got ruined because I didn't know it was broken.
Payday today

Had scrambled egg on malted sourdough sliced pan for dinner 3 eggs from 49c 6 pack, gotta be a very frugal dinner Smile

SnugglySnerd · 11/03/2021 22:13

Great to see you Girlie and pleased things are a little better.

Almost NSD today. I bought a coffee whilst out. Saw a tree creeper!

Gensola · 12/03/2021 06:50

em can you pull a sickie to get off going?

I have had a rough couple of days at work. Today should be easier. I have to speak at an open day for 300 people on 29th March, it is on Zoom, but I need to prepare for that now which is stressing me out. One of those things you can't say no to when asked!

Money wise we have spent a bit more on food than I would have liked this week due to two wine and snacks incidents, but I haven't bought much else, trying to stay off the online shops!

I have my second French class today sandwiched in-between my own classes as it is on zoom still. Nervous again!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/03/2021 07:00

Tired, didn't sleep well due to stress.

Boo em, practice your poker face or just be you. With the twat.

Urgh teenagers. Not looking forward to that phase

Aldi today ££ as not buying much due to move and a free hello fresh next week
