ememem84 · 09/03/2021 21:43

£60 osteopath. Worth every penny.

Spoke to ore school and apart from ds being sad for the first 20 mins or so he was fine all day. His happy self. Phew.

Come home and he’s sad. Tired I think. He went to bed with only a little bit of fuss. But no stories. Straight to sleep. Bless him.

Dh called Fil. We can go round on Friday afternoon. Only for an hour. And only in the garden. And we must wear masks.

I’ve told dh I’ll swerve it. I’m not wearing a mask outside. I get fils house his rules. But nah.

SnugglySnerd · 09/03/2021 22:01

I relate to that too Sing!

Thanks for the kind back to school messages. Another nice day but have had to order extra masks, definitely need a fresh one during the day. I feel like I'm having to talk really loud so the kids can hear me!

Hope ds is ok Em.

Unescorted · 10/03/2021 06:55

em I am glad he is more settled.

snuggly I hope your voice holds out.

I am half asleep today - we had a gas explosion in the village last night. I slept through it but my lovely family came rushing upstairs to get a better view through my bedroom window. I was not amused. Apparently some gas bottles in an old horsebox. We have had a lot of petty crime in the village over the last few months so I am sure there is going to be lots of unfounded speculation on our FB page..... no consideration will be given to the sense of keeping the gas bottles in an old horsebox in the first place.

Wish me luck getting a teenaged boy out of bed. I may be some time

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/03/2021 06:56

Ah poor DS hope it's just tiredness.
Running out of FD here but zero inspiration for food. Will have to supermark later

ememem84 · 10/03/2021 07:24

Morning y’all. U.K. with the dc now.

Off to the office again. Wahooo. Then meeting a colleague for coffee at lunch and then home at about 230 as have an online training session and it’ll be easier to do from home.

Mrsmadevans · 10/03/2021 07:34

Morning everyone 😀
Unescorted hope you feel ok lovely, plenty of caffeine ! ☕
Em glad Ds was ok afterwards, such a relief for you 💐 enjoy your office day and meet up with DF. I don't blame you swerving FIL he sounds like an emotional vampire 🙄
Snuggly DH was told by his Resp nurse to take sips of water for hoarseness from wearing masks . He has been complaining of his voice for a while now. It has coincided with his change in asthma inhalers and increased mask wearing 🙂
Well l better shift have a lovely day everyone 😊

Bornlazy · 10/03/2021 08:50

Morning. Nsd yesterday - phew.

Feel a bit better today about ds. I'm just not great with change. New chapters are daunting to me but I'll come round.

Unescorted hope you're not too tired today and that ds got up without a fuss.

Happier I love scrambled eggs in the microwave but the trick is to take them out before they're full cooked as they continue to cook once they're out. Then mix them up with some butter 😋

Snuggly I know they are really bad for the environment but I'd recommend disposable masks if you're wearing them all day. I wear a non disposable going into work but need to change into a disposable when I'm on shift and it's definitely much lighter on your face. Your skin will suffer be prepared for that. I don't know anyone who hasn't had an increase in spots from all day mask wearing 😬

Mrs drinking frequently when wearing a mask is a good idea they are so drying. I can't wait for the day we don't need them anymore.

Unescorted · 10/03/2021 09:18

Born he got himself out of bed. I was suitably stunned.

ememem84 · 10/03/2021 11:57

Sorry but scrambled eggs are best when done in a pan and cooked with butter. Never flora. Always proper butter.

Then add spring onions. And cheeeeeeese. And chilli. On toast. Mmmm.

SingToTheSky · 10/03/2021 12:49

I like chives in scrambled egg, not done that for ages! Might have to get some. I usually do it in a pan but DH sometimes makes them in a bowl over boiling water and I realised lately I prefer those. But somehow it seems more effort 😂

Serve with fried pepper and chorizo. Or grilled bacon. And buttered seed toast.

Now I’m hungry 😂

SingToTheSky · 10/03/2021 12:50

Oh and sometimes shaved grana padano. Le yum

ememem84 · 10/03/2021 13:24

oh mannnn,......i'm hungry too and i just had lunch.

met friend/colleague for lunch in the end. was meant to just be coffee but we were both starving. i had a "light" salad. ha! there was hardly any leaves but a ton of prawns and smoked salmon. yummmmm

Happierwithouthim · 10/03/2021 13:28

Ooh scrambled egg over hot water sounds like something I should try!

€37.40 using my 15% birthday discount on cloud10 beauty. Two sanctuary handcreams 250ml, bioderma shower oil 250ml(last shower stuff bought last July!), pack of 4 ren shower gels, greatly reduced

Happierwithouthim · 10/03/2021 13:29

Bought a turkey roast in Aldi sat night reduced by 75% so €1.25, one roast dinner and two lush turkey sandwiches Grin

AmberItsACertainty · 10/03/2021 14:37

Thank you lovely people. Just when I was wondering what to do with the rest of the eggs now I've run out of muffins, here you all are with scrambled eggs recipes. Smile

It's pouring rain here and I'm not feeling well so today I will mostly be dozing on the sofa. Hope everyone has a good day.

AmberItsACertainty · 10/03/2021 14:42

Happier thanks for the alternative poached eggs method. I'll give it a try when I've got some more muffins in.

Em is it worth telling DS how FIL doesn't like anybody?! I'm making an assumption there but I'm getting vibes that he's that type.

Happierwithouthim · 10/03/2021 14:49

Also bought turkey pieces with 75% off so 82c, will make 2/3 portions of curry tonight with them Grin

Bornlazy · 10/03/2021 15:13

Today's scrambled eggs. They were delicious but I just like them plain.
Cleaning the pan after scrambled eggs puts me off cooking them that way. I've never tried over hot water.

I am now having to make a sourdough loaf so I can do my eggs justice. It will be ready just in time to bake a camembert for supper tomorrow. It is a new (to me) method that can be started without refreshing the starter - so instead of discarding it when it gets it's weekly feed you use it to make the loaf.

Wolfcub · 10/03/2021 18:47

Mmmm scrambled eggs. Glad I didn't see this before I started making tea

SnugglySnerd · 10/03/2021 19:49

Gosh Unescorted the gas explosion sounds a bit dramatic!

Thanks for mask advice. I drink gallons of water at work anyway just because of speaking all day but yes my skin is already dry. The students are being really good at wearing theirs but you can tell by afternoon lessons they are uncomfortable and dying to take them off. They are tired too! They tell me they have literally been waking up in time to log into their online lessons s from their beds and getting up early to get ready for school is a bit of a shock I think!
Surprisingly many of them have said how much they enjoyed the online lessons and in many cases preferred it. Reasons given were fewer distractions, not having to worry about social things, not having to get up as early, being able to do the work at their own pace and being able to message teachers for help instead of having to ask in front of everyone else.

I'm glad to be back at school with proper interaction though!

Em is it worth telling DS how FIL doesn't like anybody?! I'm making an assumption there but I'm getting vibes that he's that type.

Correct. He doesn’t like:

Women
Independant women
Successful women
Outspoken women
Intelligent women
All of the above are “tarts/bitches/need a good seeing to”
Intelligent men (poofters)
Gays
Lesbians
Trans
Portuguese (we have a huge Portuguese/madeiran community here - it’s ace so many yum places to eat!)
Polish (as above)
Black people (criminals)
Muslims (all terrorists)
Children - seen and not heard unless they’re good at sports.

He knows what he likes and he likes what he knows. He refuses to eat forrin food. So every time he’s been here to eat I’ve cooked something “forrin” bloody tasty

Mil divorced him because he is a twat never changed never opened his mind to anything and is rude.

I’m letting dh deal with the telling ds fil doesn’t like many people.

God help us when Dd is old enough to understand things. She’s full of sass. Fil will probably explode. See above hatred of strong independant outspoken women. That’s Dd. Already. At 19m.

ememem84 · 10/03/2021 21:48

Should add the views above are fils. And not mine. I work on the basis that if you’re a twat I don’t like you. Not because of “what” you are but because of your personality ifswim.

Just finished Pilates. Outfit sorted for tomorrow. Bags packed. Need to make lunch but will do that in the morning.
