I think I will pop into town for some bread buns and maybe a look round the (pathetically small) farmers (no actual farmers present) market. I was going to walk but I also want to see if any of the charity shops are open for donations so might take the car instead.

I've got an application thing to do for work that has to be in next week so I should probably spend some time on that too

I have a huge bag of clothes that need to go to the charity shop - Ds has grown.

Does anyone know where I can get cotton / linen tunic dresses with pockets for the summer. I fear that I need more room in my frocks than last year.

Wolfcub · 06/03/2021 09:02

Seasalt or Rew

Ha, that’s exactly it unescorted - unfortunately I’m even more likely to be a moody cow the next week or two as my meds have been increased despite the fact I said I didn’t feel ready for that (they’re stimulants so increased anxiety etc) and because they kept forgetting to actually write and send the prescription it is too late to change it now 🙄🙄🙄

I might just hide for a week or two.

Hope you can get some time (and confidence) to do some drawing too. I was doing a small sketch a day most days in February but I haven’t done any proper drawing for a while.

Hope the application goes well wolf it’s a good thing I hope?

I finally cancelled the direct debit to St. John ambulance and told them the Caglets won’t be returning to the club after lockdown. I don’t mind that I kept paying, it’s a charity after all. But they’ve been clear about quitting for a while now.

I’m going to phone the OU next week about enrolling, student support etc. Scary. A lot of money. My first loan too. Yikes! But I’m ready. Sooo ready.

Lovemaltesers · 06/03/2021 09:28

Lots going on for you sing Flowers but exciting times with enrolling with OU

Is it a new job wolf?

I spoke too soon, poor Ddad got readmitted to the big hospital last night with chest pains. Finally worked out where he is now, and he’s seeing the doctor this morning. I just want him settled somewhere as it must be so confusing all the moving about for him. But obviously best he is at the hospital with the expert doctors for heart problems etc.

SingToTheSky · 06/03/2021 09:30

Oh love I’m sorry, how worrying. Hope they get to the bottom of it ASAP xx

Wolfcub · 06/03/2021 10:40

Oh Love I'm so sorry, your poor dad and all of you are really going through it at the moment

OP posts:
ememem84 · 06/03/2021 10:47

Oh love I’m so sorry.

Dh has gone for a meeting with the builders on the site behind us. I’m doing laundry and whizzy around cleaning (as much as I can with the dc around anyway).

I’m two loads done (on speedy cycle) and outside. It’s sunny and windy here today.

Gensola · 06/03/2021 10:58

love sorry to hear about your dad, he is in the right place and I hope they can help him soon.

sing that’s exciting about the course, have you decided what to study? Sorry if you’ve said and I’ve missed it!

I’m writing reports this morning before meeting a friend for a walk. 55 reports to go!

SingToTheSky · 06/03/2021 11:04

55 😱

I’ve not decided between psychology and psychology with counselling. They are both accredited so no help there to sway my choice! I am going to ask my therapist in my next session what she thinks 😂 (she was an NHS psychologist, doctorate etc). Hopefully fitting in one more free course before I start too, there are a few that could be relevant to volunteer placements in the meantime and maybe even some paid work, but basically I am starting right at the bottom of any kind of ladder.

Wolfcub · 06/03/2021 11:18

Love not a new job but a potential development opportunity. Very competitive though and I might be a little too "me" to fit what they want

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2021 12:44

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2021 12:44

Good luck Wolf 😁

Gen 55 reports 😜 👏
Unescorted l bought my linen dresses from Marks & TKMaxx . Linen shirts from Tu 😊

Mrsmadevans · 06/03/2021 14:09

Em is DH just chatting with the builders for man talk 😁
Only that is what my DH does 😜

Mrsmadevans · 06/03/2021 14:14

Snuggly Lidl nuts are brilliant aren't they ! I really love the loose caramelized peanuts they do sometimes but l haven't seen them for a long time. I don't know if it's because of Covid restrictions or if it's just local to me 🤗

northender · 06/03/2021 14:14

Good luck with the application wolf. We have the conservatory full of stuff that needs to be charity shopped or sold.
Sorry to hear that love but good that he is in the right place for now.
sing exciting times for you
Good luck with the reports gen, that is a lot!
unescorted looking forward to dd getting back to school too although I think the teachers are going to have a tough job motivating the Y11s

This week has been spendy, but good spendy. £225 deposit for a holiday in Kefalonia in June/July. Decided to take the plunge & have something to look forward to. Our hand/stick blender which I'd had for just shy of 20 years has packed up as well as the nutrininja which we had only had for maybe 5 years also packed up so I have invested in a big magimix blender & a bamix stick blender. Sooo pleased with both. They will get lots of use.
Shopping this morning was £180...ouch! But it did include some meat & fish & quite a few pricier items as I had been running the cupboards & freezer down a bit.
Work has been crazy again and will be next week but then I have a week off, can't wait. The long covid work is really challenging, daunting & a bit scary, but exciting too as it's such new medicine. I did 6.5 paid additional hours in Feb and so far have got 15 done/booked for March. The extra will come in very handy. I work 30 hours normally but have said I will do an extra hour a day if they want me to, but I still want a day off a week.
Dh has been told that his previous department will pay him for the excess annual leave that he hasn't been allowed to carry over to his new department so that will also be a welcome boost to our finances at the end of March.

Fearofawelshplanet · 06/03/2021 14:22

NSD... hope everyone is enjoying the sun!
Sorry to hear about your Dad Love...
Good luck with the OU Sing... I loved my time with them and want to do postgrad in Sept.

AmberItsACertainty · 06/03/2021 14:24

That's not bad for the service and MOT wolf. Enjoy the farmers market Smile. I can't wait for the charity shops to reopen so I can get rid of my donation pile too. Fed up with it cluttering up the porch.

I've got some of those Mrs I'm just not sure if it's classed as severe though.

Sing my letter specifically said not to phone GP and wait for the vaccine invitation letter. It wasn't a letter to me though just a general one that said Dear Resident. That doesn't sound much fun with your meds Sad. Good luck with the OU. Exciting times.

Unescorted Joe Browns sell things like that but check the fabric is what you want.

Hope the reports don't take forever Gen.

Oh no love Flowers for you all.

Waves hello to my fellow creative people. I didn't realize there were any on this thread. Lockdown stupor has prevented me from doing anything creative for ages.

I've been shredding paperwork this week too. It's all ready to go out for the recycling tomorrow. Washing done and on the line. First time in ages it's been worth putting it out, spring is here Smile.

Altered a dress this morning that was gaping at the front so it no longer flashes my bra, it was obviously designed for someone with bigger boobs than me 😆

Mrsmadevans · 06/03/2021 14:48

Amber do you think you ought to follow it up lovely. When you said ' l have some of these' l thini you only need 1 condition tbh and no matter the severity l was given to understand , my daughter has had her vaccination aged 26 because she is prone to Asthma but she is very well 95% of the time and only uses her inhalers when she has a bad chest . Which thankfully is once in a blue moon now. 😊

ememem84 · 06/03/2021 16:05

@Mrsmadevans

Em is DH just chatting with the builders for man talk 😁 Only that is what my DH does 😜
Nope. Although this has happened since they’ve been working on site. The contractor and architect invited us to go to the site to discuss boundaries. We objected to the planning for the development initially. So they want to keep us on side.

The outcome of dhs meeting is that the developer will pay for a wall of at least 6ft just over our boundary line. We can then fill this in and plant on top of it to retain natural screening.

They’re also going to discuss which plants would be most suitable.

£78 garden centre. Dh bought more plants for the garden.

Lovemaltesers · 06/03/2021 17:06

Good news, Ddad has been discharged from the main hospital and now safely back at the dementia hospital. I really hope he stays put there now! I will go and deliver more clothes and some goodies for him tomorrow.

We had a lovely walk this afternoon which helped blow the cobwebs away. I’m hoping for some calm and less drama for a bit now

SnugglySnerd · 06/03/2021 18:13

Pleased to hear that Love

Sing this sounds so exciting. I'd love to learn something new or retrain perhaps except that I can't think what I'd like to do, I don't think I I really have time and mainly I'm scared of change! Well done for doing something new.

North we used vouchers from our wedding to buy a Magimix and it is brilliant. One of my best kitchen gadgets. Dd1 likes to be allowed to press the button to make it slice or whatever. Heavily supervised obviously - those things are sharp!!

Nsd. Hooray!

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2021 18:23

Good news love

Mrsmadevans · 06/03/2021 18:51

Em that is bad news you are having a development behind you but excellent news they are willing to build you a wall and you can plant on top of it too , phew you must be relieved Smile
Our garden centres here in Wales are still closed & Dh is fretting about his borders and lawns Grin
