Afternoon [Grin]

I need to find a way to find joy. March already feels longer than I would like.

ememem84 · 04/03/2021 14:13

doesn't it unescorted

i am fingers crossed, going back into the office on tuesday. for three whole days a week. wahoooo!!!!

this will mean productivity will go up.

but will also mean i have to do nursery drop offs and pick ups each day as i will be in town too. but hey ho.

i have told dh that he will need to do the chores around the house. he wasn't too happy about that. hahahahahaha!

Wolfcub · 04/03/2021 14:22

I agree Unescorted it's been the longest 1-4 March in history

OP posts:
ememem84 · 04/03/2021 15:30

today is now going on for ages.

i am listening to a budget webcast.

Unescorted · 04/03/2021 16:26

YaY I have finished for the day and our bubble is coming for tea. Before that the highlight of the day had been going out to bring the bin in.

We are having an Unescorted Chinese banquet. I am hoping that they didn't notice that I didn't put the crispy duck on the shopping list - it is a faff to get it off the bone.

ememem84 · 04/03/2021 17:03

And I’m done for the week! Wahooo!

Spends £891 on a management training course. But will expense this back to work so will get back on payday.

£14 waitrose on snacks.

I have a gigantic spot on my chin. Eugh.

Unescorted · 04/03/2021 17:18

A duck has made it home.... sods!

SnugglySnerd · 04/03/2021 18:00

@Unescorted

A duck has made it home.... sods!
A duck??
lifelongfrugaleer · 04/03/2021 18:10

Bah hate picking meat from bones

ememem84 · 04/03/2021 18:18

The last time I ordered Chinese and ordered duck I specifically asked them to take the duck meat off the bone for me. I hate the meat picking.

Am relaxing with a gin. Watching hey duggee.

AmberItsACertainty · 04/03/2021 19:19

Must be something in the air. I'm feeling like today has lasted at least a week. Wish I could have Chinese takeaway but round here it's not that good. NSD today.

Unescorted · 04/03/2021 22:37

Amber it has been a long week - possibly because we all know the might be in sight.

We have no take aways that aren't eye wateringly expensive which is why I went for the Iron Carbide wok, Chinese sauces & condiments and You Tube.

Mrs & Fear I went onto the Lidl website to find you are getting lamb ...

Mrsmadevans · 04/03/2021 23:12

Unescorted Are Fear & I dragging you to the dark side Grin
l can't see lamb on the website but l did see these and l can vouch for them as being delicious l am not a sausage person either STS Grin

I really like the Lidl app tbh it is excellent .

CurlsandCurves · 05/03/2021 07:46

@Mrsmadevans you got some bargains there, love that polka dot dress. I’m going to have to have a little browse myself later.

DS1 has his second coved test today before he returns to school on monday. DS1 isn’t able to return until next Friday, simply because of the number of kids and tests they’ve got to organise. But they’re going back, woohoo!

ememem84 · 05/03/2021 08:02

mrs love the floral dress!

Spot has gone back in. Phew. Dgrandma says spots are a persons wickedness coming out. 😂

Best get out of bed. Off to see dparents today with the dc. As Dh is wfh all day despite saying he’s got a deal at work. Apparently that all changed yesterday so he can’t now go in.

Wolfcub · 05/03/2021 09:52

Em please can you link to the acrylic draw things you bought the other day? New cupboards will have no drawers in order to maximise space so need something to contain my socks?

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 05/03/2021 10:57

Drawer not draw. Bloody spell check

iDesign 40910 Makeup Organiser... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0118B1TBI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Here you are wolf

They have loads. Search acrylic organisers and youll get loads.

Been to waitrose with the dc to buy fruit and veg. All of it. £54.

Some angry woman reminded me that there’s two metre social distancing and she’s protecting a vulnerable person at home. I moved away. She kept shouting “did you hear me social distancing etc” I told her I did. And that she was rude.

Gensola · 05/03/2021 13:21

em I think the pandemic has definitely enabled some people to think it’s ok to be bullies. I saw a woman around our age absolutely screaming at two old women on the tow path that they were too close to her, social distancing, f** off etc - I thought - you’re the one spraying spit everywhere!
Also DH and I were stuck behind someone walking super slow and when we overtook she shouted at us that we were too close, I said how else are we supposed to pass you Confused I don’t have all day to walk at ten metres per hour...

ememem84 · 05/03/2021 13:58

gen absolutely. I’ve been yelled at for taking the dc into the shop with me before when I’m on my own with them.

What am I meant to do?

I’ve also been pulled up because a lady crept up behind me and then insisted I should have been more aware. She was super rude at me so I wasn’t polite back. Told her to eff off and mind her own business.

Mrsmadevans · 05/03/2021 14:25

Afternoon everyone Smile
Mumbob , Dh and l have had our second vaccinations Grin
We got up at 6 to be up there for 7 to sort them out for leaving at 8 , jabs done in Brollys hospitial , wonderful team working there , so grateful tothem all Smile
Finished there then off to the coal merchants at 9.15, picked up 3 bags of coal , 4 bags of logs , firelighters and kindling for MumBob , back to Llangorse , Mumbob's home at 10 for Bob's car to be taken away for servicing & MOT , the oil man cometh there at 12 to fill the oil tank & all is well with the world, done their shopio aswell , so l am now collapsed on t'sofa watching telly scoffing Werthers eclairs Smile
Gen l totally get what you are saying , the looks l have had from some ppl is unbelievable , thing is you can only see their eyes and they tell the whole story! You don't need to see their faces to know they absolutely hate the sight of us Grin l wouldn't mind but l am so careful and they are the ones going the wrong way up the aisle Grin
Don't blame you telling her Em & that floral dress is gorgeous , am flattered you like it too Smile it's very retro , like something l would have worn in the 70's Smile Ahh glad your spot has decided to do one Grin
Curls great news re your Ds1 going back to school Smile it has been so hard for them Flowers I was so pleased to get the two dresses , l have been coveting them for ages!
Spent 27 in Aldi today , fruit , veg , pizzas, bread, l picked up the cheese & pepper muffins to try too Grin

Lovemaltesers · 05/03/2021 14:58

Good news here, Ddad went back to the dementia ward a couple of days ago and they are happy to speak to me about him. Not just Dmum who seems to forget to find out how he is 😖

Home school is almost out!!! DD2 has done very little schooling today, but honestly I just can’t get worried about it now. She’ll be fine.

I seem to have spent the day answering the door to delivery drivers. I think we have had five deliveries Blush only some of it was DHs

I’ve also found out our options for our May holiday, so need to decide what to do now. Technically we might be able to go, but we’d be unable to quarantine when we got back due to work so not really an option.

I hope everyone has survived Friday!
