I'm 25 45 and have a childish sense of humour and swear like a sea man. Grin

Yes, no more praline. Is the burn healing yet?

life I swear a lot too, I think it is because I’m Northern Irish. It’s definitely more normal there, my granny swears!

ememem84 · 13/02/2021 08:10

I had to hold back giggles yesterday when reading to ds. His book had both fanny and knob in it. 😂😂

Wolfcub · 13/02/2021 09:00

Ha I must be Life's nearly-twin 41 and swear like a trooper. I am also one of those unfortunate folk to whom the words brutally honest apply. Luckily my friends appreciate this otherwise I'd be a decidedly lonely soul

Enjoy the new car Life

@SnugglySnerd

Thanks for the link Mrs, going to have a proper look later.

I think we would all get on too. We could have a frugal picnic, I'll bring the Marmite sandwiches Grin

🤣🤣🤣
Mrsmadevans · 13/02/2021 09:18

Em that sounds like a great book 👏😂
Off to MumBobs.
Freezing here given us snow , we shall see. l do love snow l know it's a nuisance but ❤️
'snowflakes that fall on my nose and eyelashes' ❤️

Dd1 seems to have decided to spend half term grazing on things from the kitchen. I have just explained that is she can manage all morning at school with one snack she can do the same at home! She always struggles with the first day of the holidays. I think she thinks something really exciting is going to happen and is surprised when it is just a normal Saturday.

Unescorted · 13/02/2021 10:18

Morning,

Just quick Hi Bye... off for a walk in the brrrrrrrrr.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/02/2021 11:00

Me too wolf. A spade is indeed a spade

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/02/2021 11:01

Tip run done, charity drop off done, freezer listed on online food bank done.
Bacon in the oven mmmmm

Tightwad2020 · 13/02/2021 11:09

Hello all. It's bright sunshine here and I should go out and about in it, but I am feeling lazy and struggling to do anything beyond mooch around on my laptop. However, have taken a chicken out of the freezer, so planning two nice meals out of it this weekend, and I have the ingredients to make a lemon drizzle cake and a batch of scones to keep us supplied in treats until I go back to Aldi on Monday. Am determined not to top up but make our food last!

First portfolio submitted by DS yesterday, 3 more to go between now and 31 March. Very proud of him, and crossing fingers he gets an offer he's happy with.

Decorators start on Monday. Will be at least 2 weeks, probably more, of dusty work. Everything needs sanding, filling, priming and two top coats. Constant dog management and working around people WFH. BUT it will transform the house and not before time.

Right, must do some exercise before I atrophy completely! Ooh, watched Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society last night - really loved it, and recommend for another of those uplifting (with teary moments) film nights.

I’m just sniggering at sea man 😂

Well done for tip/chazzer run etc! You’re on fire today.

Waiting for our new flooring to arrive. Got it on sale so we’ve had to move stuff around to store it until we’ve painted the living room. It’s been boring white for too long, still haven’t even chosen a colour 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/02/2021 11:56

Seaman Grin

ememem84 · 13/02/2021 12:09

Haha seaman

maddenlightfoot · 13/02/2021 14:36

We've just come back from a freezing cold, 2hr walk - we took marmite sandwiches 🥪😂! Now wrapped under blankets drinking tea.

I've got spends to add - v expensive Aldi shop yesterday. Bought loads of lovely food and drink. We usually go out for dinner at valentines and I'm sure it's even cheaper than a take-away but still the whole shop was £120ish 😱. And dh has just gone to the shop for some beer to drink whilst he watches the rugby (currently on pause), he can only drink gluten free beer so I hadn't picked any up yesterday, so will need to add that spend too (will do it later, I'm not getting out of this gosh cacoon to get the receipt!)

Unescorted · 13/02/2021 14:54

life yes it is healing, although still no sign of the antibiotics.

Madden that wind is so bitter. I jumped into the bath when I got back from my walk. I was just defrosting when dh came in from riding his bike and hustled me out. I will send him out to the shop in penance.

Wolfcub · 13/02/2021 15:27

I'm currently trying to balance leaning against the radiator because I'm freezing and not burning my back because the radiator is hot hot hot

OP posts:
AmberItsACertainty · 13/02/2021 16:22

Wolf put a thick blanket round your shoulders then you can snuggle up to the radiator without burning. Nothing beats a radiator snuggle when you're frozen.

Congrats on the new car Life.

Sing I hear hot pink is in fashion? Would make a change from white Grin

Same for me Tight, lazy day.

I had snow, thought about going out in it but it didn't settle and now it's drizzling. I'm uninspired. Going to read a book and have a nap. I feel worn out.

ememem84 · 13/02/2021 16:24

£50 at garden centre. Some bits for the garden and a new bowl and some treats for catface.

Ds chose these. Catface is not impressed with them. They are rank. Whole fish wrapped in chicken.

maddenlightfoot · 13/02/2021 17:42

I've finally warmed up (g&t is helping 😬)

February:
NSDs: 7/28
Groceries: £306.83/£390
Everything else: £166.81/£350

I'm going to have to be super strict with grocery shopping until the end of the month. It will be squeakily tight.

SnugglySnerd · 13/02/2021 18:20

It is so cold today! We have made gingerbread hearts for Valentines day and also made little cards for each other. Haven't got dh anything as we never bother but he has just said he has got me a little something so I feel bad now!

Happierwithouthim · 13/02/2021 18:25

Big stupid fingers lost my last post Angry
€168 Aldi €80 dc Christmas money spend €5 ds Easter egg
Just kept under my frugal February grocery budget of €75 weekly I've €1.61 left Grin

Lots of treats in there as midterm, shrove tues, valentines, bf staying for first time while dc are home and dd wants to make a cake. Very little meat as still have loads from butcher deal last week. Got a large chicken and a ham for slow cooking for sandwiches & carbonara & Mac n cheese.

Madden hopefully you've some food in fridge/freezer to supplement

I didn't get marmite but I got biscuit spread though Smile

Nearly out of coverage again now will catch up soon

Happierwithouthim · 13/02/2021 18:32

@ememem84

This.

I do often wonder whether we’d get on in real life. I think we would. Sometimes I forget that we’re all different ages etc. I sometimes just assume that you’re all the same age as I am. (Stil 26......! Ha!)

Dh hates the buns.

I think we would
Happierwithouthim · 13/02/2021 18:35

Snuggly you've made an effort by making homemade treats!

Unescorted hope you were sufficiently warmed up when he kicked you out!

Unescorted · 13/02/2021 19:17

I am going to have to resort to a home made card because I have not been out for ages.

Happier I was toastie warm, but my hairy legs remain hairy.

We are having my favourite dinner to make. Mainly because I get to make pita bread. There is something so satisfying about pulling them out of the oven & them having puffed up so much they are almost spherical.

Groceries are creeping up in price still. I am going to have to start dashing in more budget meals.
