Sorry I'm a bit distant everyone, I'm not doing so well and feeling very emotionally overwhelmed at the moment.

Whoever asked about washing, I do towels and sheets weekly so that's two washes. At least one whites and one blacks wash per week, so another two. I don't do colours wash, I get too confused with the clothes (I store them in outfits, so I want them all back at roughly the same time so I don't forget what belongs with what), so colours are divided into pales and darks and go in with the whites and blacks respectively.

em no, it's Wonder Groom Whitening Shampoo. Maybe it'll make my grey hairs sparkle 😆

SnugglySnerd · 31/01/2021 06:19

That's good about the art stuff and your dd Unescorted. We have a several drawers of the Ikea storage full of craft stuff they can help themselves to and I have another 2 boxes of stuff like paint and glitter that they have to ask for as we don't want it all over the carpet! Dd1 has yet more drawing stuff in her room. Maybe we have a bussing artist! Even if we don't I think it's really important children can be creative.

Dd2 slept all night! First time in ages. I feel better despite the early start. She did a lot yesterday, we must have worn her out!

Big garden birdwatche today.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/01/2021 07:47

Just keep popping in amber. I think lots of us are feeling like that at the moment.

Yeah for sleep

Working on box corner today ie more packing freezing at the bike trail

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/01/2021 07:48

Sorry missed the cojoin word. Then freeze at the bike trail

Wolfcub · 31/01/2021 09:59

I have been a very lazy cow. I took a few days off to do house jobs and have basically done none of them

At the moment all of our creative stuff and board and card games are packed 🤦‍♀️. When we move I'd really like to make the creative stuff more accessible. There's a little area in the kitchen that could be a nice 'craft corner'

January:
NSDs: 16/31 (really pleased with this!)
Groceries: £403.20/400 (will take a bit of budget from next month to balance up, plus I want to reduce our spends by £5pm across the year so that I finish the year with a £340 budget)
Everything else: £266.07/350 (I'll keep this at £350 next month even though spends were low as it will be half term and the girls need new shoes. And we'll need a moving day take-away!)

February:
NSDs: 0/28
Groceries: 0/£390
Everything else: 0/£350

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/01/2021 11:28

Wolf you needed some r&r though so not wasted.

£32 packing boxes. Some more packing done. Cold walk out this afternoon

Wolfcub · 31/01/2021 12:07

I've made a slight effort. Bed stripped and changed, wash nearly finished

Kitchen put back to rights after I've just left it in a heap all weekend

Loaf put in breadmaker - this was mostly an exercise in checking the flour for eeeevil weeeevils 🐛(there were none)

A shredders worth of shredding done, found a replacement credit card that I hadn't noticed arrive and which I need (only credit card I use now). Rubbish and recycling out.

Moved some stuff from the unused en-suite bathroom (aka camping storage) into the attic cupboards.

Going to bake in a sec and then make some lunch.

Started a new book. The 11th of the year, I'm doing well towards my annual target of 50

SnugglySnerd · 31/01/2021 12:52

Wolf you have done loads - not lazy at all! Even if you were being lazy the break will be good.

Gensola · 31/01/2021 12:59

If anyone has any good veggie recipes they enjoy please share - we are getting into a food rut. We do eat meat but only once or twice a week.

1.49 milk
Food shop being delivered tomorrow
75.00 gonna try and avoid the top up shops. Deliveries split between iceland and morrisons.

Fearofawelshplanet · 31/01/2021 15:10

Gen- Tesco mag this month is full of amazing veg recipes! Worth a look.

Taytocrisps · 31/01/2021 15:52

It's a nasty day here - cold and windy and sleety. Is sleety a word? Drove to the pet shop in the big town earlier to stock up on cat litter. Also got some meat and a top up shop.

We've made some chocolate chip cookies - they've just come out of the oven.

Doing a rack of lamb in a bit with garlic potatoes, sprouts and carrots. I fancied a roast dinner for a change. Then we're going to get cosy in front of the fire and watch a movie.

SnugglySnerd · 31/01/2021 16:22

I like the Tesco magazine Fear. Good recipes on the website too.

ememem84 · 31/01/2021 16:49

Tofu balls with tomato sauce and roasties for dinner here.

Dd has just gone down for a nap. This is danger nap territory peoole and I wouldn’t usually let this happen but she’s getting really agro. Super pinchy and punchy when she’s tired....

Happierwithouthim · 31/01/2021 17:46

Technically February grocery shop done today.

Unescorted · 31/01/2021 18:45

em your DD sounds like me when I am tired.

Tayto Sleety is a word in our house. I do have form for making up the English language as I go along so you may want to check it before using it in a Scrabble game.

Wolf that is a weeks worth of house chores in my hovel. Although I am training the rest of the family to clear up - 4:30this afternoon before last nights dinner was cleared off the table.

sing have you had the result back for DH.... I am keeping my fingers crossed for him

Today was a NSD.... helped by being parked in by people coming to do their exercises. I ended up having to do more exercise to do my stint at the foodbank - thankfully not much to do.

What are the chances of a dr prescribing antibiotics over the phone / Teams for a septic burn? I went to the pharmacy yesterday because the praline burn from earlier in the week has started oozing pus... they told me to uncover it and dry it out. I explained that it had been uncovered for nearly a week so they said take pain killers and call the dr on Monday for an AB script, but I really cannot be arsed trundling all the way to the next town to pick up antibiotics here.

Crowsandshivers · 31/01/2021 19:23

ememem84 · 31/01/2021 19:53

Currently in dds room silently willing her to go to sleep. We’ve done lavender bath warm milky and now bed.

unescorted shes definetly my child. I’m a bit like that when I’m tired/hungry.

Danger nap was a bad idea I feel.

Dh keeps saying he’s in a lot of pain. He’s got something in his eye. I suggested taking him to A&E earlier but he refused. Now the kids are in bed it’s going to be harder if he needs to go.

He’s been whining all day if I’m honest. It’s annoyed me because instead of doing anything he’s been moping about. I suggested he go for a nap earlier but no. Sat on the couch moping.
