Amazon Hula hoops winner!

£31 horse shop £1.25 milk

ememem84 · 22/11/2020 19:21

Huge news here.

Our coop is doing online grocery shopping. That is a game changer.

Admittedly the delivery is next day anytime between 8 and 8....so someone has to be in. But. If we organise it right and do it the day before a wfh day it’s a total easy peasy food shop. Hoorah!

Party with ds this afternoon. Man it was noisy.

northender · 22/11/2020 21:53

Ended up not gardening today, but went to local park for a walk with dh. Local park turned out to be a slightly surreal experience with a strange mix of folk! Made mincemeat a la Delia which is fab and made first batch of mince pies tonight which were equally fab. Chutney & Christmas pud have been postponed to tomorrow.
Did a bit of financial planning with dh earlier. We have an endowment maturing in a couple of weeks (from our first house). We are having a big holiday in 2022 which this money would more than pay for, but we've decided to pay off our remaining CC and a loan that we have, have some work done on porch & garage & buy me a new (to me) car. Then we'll have to save like mad to pay for the holiday, but that is a more motivational mindset than paying off debt. Getting rid of a chunk of debt feels so positive.

Mrsmadevans · 22/11/2020 22:54

Omg Wolf that is soul destroying for you 💐

Mrs it stumped me initially too, but love is very happy that she can get hula hoops on Amazon Prime. Life agreeing that that's good!

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/11/2020 06:48

Sorry. Poor punctuation there

Amazon for hula hoops? Winner!

SnugglySnerd · 23/11/2020 07:10

Another sleepless night with dcs. That's about 2 week's worth now. Not sure how I'm going to function at work.

maddenlightfoot · 23/11/2020 09:10

Oh snuggly 😢, hope you survive... only 4 weeks to go!

I'm stuck in a queue waiting for my click and collect. Only another £10 added to my grocery bill after using some vouchers.

Obviously this month is not a normal month - low diesel costs, no going out etc, but I will have managed to end the month with around an extra £400 saved. Definitely makes me feel a bit more confident about the added mortgage for the new house. I'll put it towards Christmas. Have bought some presents already but dh always gets the twitch!

Week before €13 on flowers, wine and juice
week before that €4 on newpaper & a non alcohol cider

mad you'll laugh at this story
Bf was coming over for dinner, I don't eat potatoes and dc eat them with their dad so I don't bother buying them. I'd one in the drawer so figured giving him one lone potato was kind of mean looking. They didn't have the dog nuts the previous evening so when I went to Dunnes I bought dog nuts and a single potato to make it two for him.

When dinner was cooked, he says one potato will do me. GrinGrinGrin

Evening people.

wolf can you not bill him (or is it not worth it|). Although from what you have posted it may be good value for money & not have to deal with him about it.

love that was careless of him...did you make him retrace his steps? Hope you are all OK.

north I use the Delia mincemeat recipe. For the pies I do sweet short crust, dollop of mincemeat topped with frangipane ..... World of yum.

My family broke it to me that only 1 out of all of us likes fruit cake and that 1 is not me so. Christmas cake and pudding making was cancelled due to a lack of eating enthusiasm. It is a shame because I liked the idea of a tradition.....

Mrs that is how DD's art addiction started.... one innocent desk easel and I am now bankrupt. For good priced high quality art goodies try Cass Art and Fred Aldos .... Not cheap cheap but sometime it is better to buy less but good quality. Each payday I would buy DD 4 coloured pencils or 2 pens.

I loved The Crown...finished watching this weekend. Which explains my low profile

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/11/2020 18:56

I've just finished the crown. I can see why Charles was reportedly not happy about it.

Unescorted · 23/11/2020 18:59

Yes ... he isn't presented in a good light.

ememem84 · 23/11/2020 21:28

Love pink ladies. Love the crown.

Am at episode 5 now. No spoilers.

£53 on two tops from Joanie Clothing. I saw something dawn o’porter posted on Instagram re them and took a look. New black jumper with dinosaur on it and a shirt with a space print are both winging their way to me. Didn’t need them. But payday treat?!

Mrsmadevans · 23/11/2020 21:41
