That sounds promising life 🤞

The rest of us are starting our 14 days from when he was tested so we finish isolating next weekend. He can go back to work on Tuesday... not sure that is going to go down well with his colleagues, the non-isolating ones. I got retested, still negative.

He’s still had no contact from track and trace. We’re getting retested again today as part of the survey. I was surprised they wanted to come, but it will be done from the doorstep. Will be interesting to see todays results!

Lovemaltesers · 21/11/2020 08:14

Although thinking about it, they probably want to know if he has spread it to the household and if he is still testing positive

Lovemaltesers · 21/11/2020 08:20

Glad to hear about your dad and DD girlie . Hope you are feeling better too!

maddenlightfoot · 21/11/2020 08:59

We're one week into children's isolation. I forgot just how full-on everything feels when they're not out of the house for a large part of each day - much more mess and many more meltdowns!

We're going to have a bbq in the garden this afternoon with hotdogs, marshmallows and hot chocolate.

My week of minimal shopping has gone really well... only a £7.50 top up so far, of which half was loose change. I need a few things today (hotdog rolls, bread and shreddies) but will keep to a minimum. I've booked a Tesco click&collect for Monday which il try and keep to the basket minimum of £25 and I had £21 of Clubcard vouchers which il use for it.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Wolfcub · 21/11/2020 09:29

Still in bed having a cuppa and a slow start to the morning. It's very very rare so I'm taking advantage

Going to go out for a walk, bottle bank, then need to totally empty the car ready for valeting next week - needs doing before it's traded in (although that's now looking like January so will have to keep it clean)

Then a Christmas film this afternoon and might bake something. Need to dig in the freezer for something for tea

4th is quite exciting Life, are you going to do some bits in the new place before moving in? Hope the viewing goes well

Love I hope you all test negative

maddenlightfoot · 21/11/2020 11:42

£4 on the bare essentials at Aldi so £11.50 for groceries this week! It's all a moot point really as what we're eating is the corona/brexit stash which will have to be re-stocked in December but it's always good to have a rummage at the back of the store-cupboard or in the bottom of the freezer so that come January 1st we're not trying to survive on only tinned beans 😅

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/11/2020 12:39

Ideally yes wolf but it will be ££ depending.
£22 Aldi, £18 super drug, £4 m&s, £forget Sainsbury's

Mrsmadevans · 21/11/2020 14:24

Afternoon everyone 😀
Hope all are doing well
I have been frantically busy so not been here but nevermind 😊

CurlsandCurves · 21/11/2020 16:06

DH and his dad fitted our new front door today, I’m so pleased with it, it looks lovely. Now we can carry on with skimming, plastering, new lights, radiator etc to finish off the hall stairs and upstairs landing.
Just trying to work out a way to modernise the staircase without removing it. DH has said we can knock the spindles out and replace with something simpler which will definitely help.

£36 on tonight’s takeaway for us all.

Wolfcub · 21/11/2020 16:14

Got the quote for removal of furniture to exes £450. Ffs! Honestly at the end of this bloody divorce I will be back to building from the ground up

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/11/2020 18:21

Hope you don't have to pay that wolf.
£3.50 Chinese x2 as first order was wrong

Taytocrisps · 21/11/2020 18:55

Evening everyone. I spent the day doing a deep clean, in preparation for putting up the Christmas decorations on Friday. After talking about it since 1st November DD and I finally went through the Hallowe'en decorations. I'd taken them down but hadn't put them into the attic. We went through four or five cardboard boxes and threw out some old/broken/crumpled decorations and some Hallowe'en artwork DD did with her cousins when she was little (I kept one or two of the better ones). When we'd finished, everything fitted easily into two plastic crates which have now gone into the attic. Taking them down next year (and putting them away after Hallowe'en) will be so easy.

Work is still manic and it looks like we'll be doing overtime shortly. I'll do it the weekends I don't have DD. I've been saving hard for a new suite of furniture for the sitting room and I also want to buy a cabinet/bookcase for that room, so I'm earmarking the extra income for that.

Is anyone else watching 'The Crown'? I've watched three episodes so far. I'm really enjoying it. Won't say too much in case anyone is just starting it.

Today's spends

€62.94 in local hardware shop on lights for the Christmas tree and for outside. Woodies would probably have been cheaper but although the shop is open, the Christmas part is closed. I wanted to see what I was buying iykwim.

€5.95 in Centra for bread and sausage rolls for breakfast

€12.73 in Centra when I was more awake and had made a list of what I needed

€29.95 for my Christmas pyjamas in White Stuff but I'll be refunded the same amount because I'm returning some that were too small.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/11/2020 20:30

I've got 2 episodes left to go. On the crown. I'm enjoying it

ememem84 · 21/11/2020 21:50

Oh the crown. I am enjoying it immensely.

We just finished episode 4.

We wondered what had happened to Prince Andrew.

I feel for Diana. I do.

In other news. Dd went to sleep almost immediately this evening. Win. She’s shouted in her sleep once so far. But remained asleep.

northender · 21/11/2020 22:53

Strange Saturday here as I was on an online study day. It was utterly brilliant & so inspiring. It was free & all the speakers had volunteered their time. I'm taking the time back on Tuesday.
Glad your dad's improving girlie
Will catch up properly tomorrow

ememem84 · 22/11/2020 07:23

New woman here. Dd slept through. Woke up at 7. I feel like I’ve been regenerated!!!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/11/2020 07:39

Woop woop em

Need milk today. That should be it.

Sounds Ace North.

northender · 22/11/2020 09:41

Em good news, good sleep makes such a difference.
Weather looks good today but I don't think we'll be doing anything beyond gardening as dd's mocks start on Friday and ds has 3 uni deadlines coming up. So gardening it is, and a proper stir up Sunday making life's ginger Christmas pud and Delia's mincemeat & Christmas chutney.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/11/2020 11:50

My pudding is waiting for steaming now

SnugglySnerd · 22/11/2020 16:43

My pre-Christmas declutter has started. 4 empty Kallax boxes due to some reorganisation. A few things identified (by the dcs) fornthe charity shop - if only they were open!
It turns out the way to get dcs to tidy up is to say "Santa will see all this mess and think we don't have space for any new toys". They have never moved so fast to put things away!!

Taytocrisps · 22/11/2020 17:27

That's a clever tactic Snuggly

Mrsmadevans · 22/11/2020 17:31

Spent 47.50 in Wilkos
13 in Marks
22 in Lidls

Taytocrisps · 22/11/2020 17:42

I forgot to say that we watched 'Strictly' last night and then watched some of the Christmas ads. The John Lewis one was a big disappointment - I can't even remember it. The others were average. DD and I both agreed that the McDonalds one was the best of this year's lot. DD's favorite ever is the JL Monty one. Mine is the Bear and the Hare.

Happier SuperValu has really cheap tubs of chocolates. They were something like €3.30. I didn't buy any though because they I've no self-restraint and they wouldn't last until December, never mind Christmas. I saw one lady putting six tubs in her car boot! I'm hoping some of them are presents. Or else she has a very big family. Baileys was very cheap too and I was tempted to buy a bottle, but then I remembered that I've three bottles in the fridge (I think they're all half-full Blush. I love it but I only drink it once in a blue moon.

Wolfcub · 22/11/2020 17:48

Mrs sadly I'm paying so want it as cheap as possible but someone sensible enough not to damage my decorating

Lovemaltesers · 22/11/2020 17:51

DH discovered this morning he has lost his sense of smell. He has no idea when it went Hmm

Bought some cards and mugs with DD2s Christmas picture on it. £27

Yesterday ordered some cupcakes to be delivered tomorrow £18. I think we need some Monday cheer! No idea if DC will get sent any school work this week.

££s to amazon. Discovered I could amazon prime hoola hoops 😂

Ocado order for Wednesday is £90 already

But, we ate chicken and sausages (the random ones not eaten and chucked in the freezer) lurking in the freezer today which felt very frugal Grin Fridge is looking rather empty too! I really must clean it

I keep pointing out to naughty DC that emails to Santa get there very quickly!
