I have inadvertently poured myself a rather Ginny gin. It’s a pink one which is lighter in colour than the “usual” pink one we have so I didn’t think it looked strong enough when tonic was added. So slugged more in. Hic

Spends £16 coop. Milk cheese frozen fruit and veg. And a bag to carry it home in.

Wfh today. So nice and cosy!!! Managed washing outside too yay!

WreckTangled · 04/11/2020 18:06

Ah girlie sorry dd is struggling I'm pleased you're getting help from CAMHS it's a really postcode lottery with them it's shit here

Em I've been WFH lots I get so much done, this morning I had hoovered the whole house, put the clean washing away and got another load on before 8am.

Unfortunately I'm down quite significantly on my expenses. Going from £200-£400 a month to a big fat zero at times. Obviously I'm using less fuel and miles in the car but it did bump up my wages quite a bit each month.

SnugglySnerd · 04/11/2020 18:12

Pleased you are ok Girlie, your dog it so cute!

I am shattered. Had a dreadful night with dd2 last night "is it waking up time now?" at 3am then at 4am. Then I went back to sleep and couldn't get up. Early night tonight.

Nsd so far but it is so cold at work with all the windows open for ventilation so I am going to buy some base layers/thermals and maybe a couple of smarter fitted jumpers.

Unescorted · 04/11/2020 18:31

Evening people.

Where has this week gone?
Wolf sorry to hear you aren't sleeping.
Em sorry you aren't sleeping either ….
Curls good effort on your interview. Fingers crossed for you.
Snuggly it is many days to the end of term.... you can keep ds as long as you like.
North the dementors threads wound me up after a while because they had a really binary view, with posters being quite scathing of people who were worried.
Girlie I hope your Dad has the constitution of an Ox.

We went to Oxf on Sunday (can't remember if I told you lot) - DD is settling and busy making alternative plans for Christmas in case she can't get back. It sounds as if college are going to be really relaxed about letting them stay b/c there won't be any visitors.

Happierwithouthim · 04/11/2020 19:08

snuggly I find m&s good for fitted jumpers usually find a code too before buying them.

That's a good shout, they should have good thermals too. Thanks.
Unescorted · 04/11/2020 21:08

Uniqlo too. When I am in the office their cashmere / lambswool jumpers with a shirt is my "uniform"

Mrsmadevans · 04/11/2020 21:33

Just spent £90 on Boots presents for Dd2 , Prada Candy , Skinny Tan Wondertanned Gift Set & Benefit Roller Lash . Also £27 on Superdrug for Amelia Ted Baker new perfume & some toothpaste & hand washes . Also a Wellness hamper Smile nearly got hers now Smile
Unescorted that is brill news re your Dd settling in you must be su relieved Flowers

Happierwithouthim · 05/11/2020 07:42

snuggly you reminded me I need new thermals too, mine are very off white at this stage.

I had a 'uniform' like that after I had dd, jumper dresses, leggings and boots!

Bought dd a new atlas yesterday, hers has gotten misplaced at school. Used 10% disc code and free delivery from Easons so paid €12.59.

mad I signed up for the boots soap and glory early list, right one this time. Think I might give it to sis in law from dd as she's had a rough time this year.

Never look at Uniqlo before unescorted looks nice, when I'm replenishing my wardrobe, after this current battle with my weight I must consider them.

CurlsandCurves · 05/11/2020 08:21

Having a major wardrobe crisis with DS2. We had a big clearout yesterday and the poor boy has nothing! He lives in shorts which was fine until now. And now it’s droppped colder I’ve discovered his trackie bottoms are really scruffy looking, holes in the ankle cuffs, etc. And he’s really lacking in the jumper/ hoodie department.

His school is non uniform so this is essential stuff! So I’ve just dropped £150 on some new stuff that I’m praying will fit him ok. It’s long overdue really, he normally gets his brothers hand me downs with a couple of new bits thrown in. But I think those days are gone now they both don’t grow so fast and get more use out of everything.

Happierwithouthim · 05/11/2020 08:46

€5 on local GAA lotto at home online. It's at €13,100 would be a nice little win Grin

curls not sure what age your ds2 is but that definitely happens as they get older that hand me downs are only really good for old wear, unless they're like dc's nephew who has a huge wardrobe so his clothes are normally very good handmedowns, unfortunately he's a different shape and style to ds so not much of it is used by ds [happy]Sad

I find about twice a year I need to do an overhaul on dc's clothes, maybe others pick up little and often?

Morning everyone 😀
Happier l think Boots always do well at Christmas but this year for some reason, their offers have really been things l want & need 🤗 l must sign up for the soap & glory too thank you for the heads up 💐😀

Mrsmadevans · 05/11/2020 09:24

Curls it was like that with my DDS until they decided they were not having cast offs Fgs 🤣
Precious !
You will get some lovely stuff for that amount 😀

CamdenLurker · 05/11/2020 09:59

God morning!

I'm at work today and will be working in the office all through the next four weeks, I'm surprisingly happy about this- very odd!

Curls - ds2 literally wore shorts all through primary school and was not happy about wearing trousers once in secondary school, to be honest it was fine as he grew very quickly so never had the ankle swingers situation with shorts!

I'd second Uniqlo for thermals snuggly the Heattech stuff is fantastic.

Over the first lockdown I lost just over two stone in two months, I've put about 18lbs back on through sheer greed, and now I'm feeling really bad about it, so back on the diet I think - for my mental health if nothing else.

Mrs - I am trying my hardest to keep away from Boots, I usually spend a fortune on the Star Buys, this year I've been picking up some of the tenner Tuesday and fiver Friday offers.

Morning everyone, sorry I haven't posted in a few days but I've just been so tired and working. I ended up getting a covid test which was thankfully negative. I think I'm slightly paranoid as I work with vulnerable patients and would hate to pass that on to them. We don't get tested routinely at work yet and I often feel like I'm coming down with something so it's hard to judge what's ok and what's not 😫

Nice to see you Wreck and Girlie. I'm sorry your dd is still struggling but looking at that wee cheeky face of your dog, he must help a lot.

Both my ds claim they have NO clothes Hmm in fairness with no holiday this year they probably did miss out on some new stuff. Ds1 has been the same size for about 3 years now so no handing down to ds2.

Getting really fed up with Tesco deliveries. I've had so many cancelled and feel like I'm never off the phone to them. Today's problem is that they have not taken off my £10 voucher that I was given for last weeks cancellation even though it went through when I ordered it Angry

CamdenLurker · 05/11/2020 12:02

Thanks happier I'm off to have a look now Smile

CurlsandCurves · 05/11/2020 14:30

klaxon attention everyone....

I got the job!!!

I’m over the moon! It’s nothing fancy, working part time in an independent shoe shop, but I can’t quite believe it! Having not been in paid employment for around 15 years due to being a partner in DHs business AND not having had a job interview in 20 years I didn’t think I stood a chance.

I’m so chuffed.

So as long as Boris lets us reopen, I start on 3rd Dec!

Bornlazy · 05/11/2020 15:02

Well done Curls that's great news 🎉🎆🍾

SnugglySnerd · 05/11/2020 15:31

Congratulations Curls! Brilliant news.

Just ordered 3 thermal tops for me (2 camisole types with built in bras, one long sleeved black top) plus to long sleeved for dh who is also feeling the cold wfh. All from Uniqlo. I might get warm leggings for the dcs too.

WreckTangled · 05/11/2020 15:40

Curls that's brilliant news! Well done!

Snuggly our school have emailed to say the dc can wear extra layers and thermals if they have them plus can take in an extra jumper. The TA was giving out blankets last week. Must be horrible for everyone.
