Wreck it must have been cold for the TA to give out blankets , heck that is bad , poor kids.

WreckTangled · 05/11/2020 15:56

It's not been above 8° here and it's not the beginning of November. They have got the heating on but obviously all the heater are below the windows and with no sun to warm it up either they must have been so cold

Mrsmadevans · 05/11/2020 16:24

Oh bless them that is awful, it sounds as if it was colder indoors than out!!

CurlsandCurves · 05/11/2020 16:41

It’s not nice for them having to have all the windows open. DS2 is 11 and doesn’t feel the cold at all. So he’s been fine.

DS1 has been wearing boxers, shorts, trackie bottoms then jeans or another pair of trackies. On top a T-shirt, hoodie and coat. He reminds me of when Chandler wore all of Joeys clothes in friends!

Accidentalaccountant · 05/11/2020 17:25

ememem84 · 05/11/2020 22:09

Loved EWFL!!

We had boxed up dinner today. Took the dc down to the harbour front to watch the fireworks. Local company advertised on fb that there was a private display happening from the castle in the bay. They have to advertise appparently.

So seemingly the entire island turned out to watch. It was crazy. Ds had his biscuits. Dd her milk and a snack. Dh and I took dinner and we watched what we thought was someone’s wedding fireworks or something.

Turns out local guy (who keeps trying to do so much good here but keeps getting knocked back because hes not liked by our government) had paid for the display. It was awesome. Ds loved it apart from the super boomy ones at the end (you know the fireworks which are so loud the sonic boom makes your tummy go wibbly...?!)

Home. Bed for the kiddos. And EWFL for me and dh.

Dd slept last night. Asleep at 8. Awake at 5. No other wake ups. Win.

northender · 05/11/2020 23:16

unescorted sounds like your dd is settling well. I've fallen off the AD threads already after a solitary post! I struggle keeping up here so I've no chance on there!
curls great news about the job
After a horrible work day on Tuesday, I had a day off yesterday. Returned dd's school shoes & ordered a different pair £4 refund. Half price pub lunch with Ds. £15.
Better day at work today. Beef casserole in slow cooker for tea & two family meal portions for the freezer. Tonight I made a big pack of mince into 2 cottage pies and a batch of bolognese which is in the slow cooker on timer now.
Have just started another sourdough starter using Dan Lepard's recipe. It must be lockdown again!

Wolfcub · 06/11/2020 06:10

Morning all. I've just come back to bed with a cuppa

Em sounds like a lovely evening

North I think you win the first lockdown bingo point there

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/11/2020 06:53

Ooh sourdough. Might start another try
Yeah for. Sleep
Boo for shit work

Bad night sleep here and day yesterday. Tired today

Wolfcub · 06/11/2020 08:54

I have lamb chops marinading, I've done the washing up and stripped the bed. Solicitor shortly and then need to do some cleaning as house is bleurgh

CurlsandCurves · 06/11/2020 09:37

Morning!

@ememem84 sounds like a lovely evening you had.

@northender love a bit of batch cooking, bet you feel all organised now.

@Wolfcub what are your lamb chops marinading in? Could always do with new dinner ideas.

I’ve just done 8am legs bums and tums. So tough but so good when it’s done. And yummy poached eggs for breakfast afterwards.

Got to get the towels in the wash and clean upstairs including bathrooms which I hate. Then off out to get some bits from Screwfix for DHs work and I need to do a top up shop. Think I’ll got to Sainsburys for this because it’s the only place that sells DHs favourite beer and it’s our wedding anniversary on Sunday, so....

Lovemaltesers · 06/11/2020 09:38

It’s been a very testing week at work this week, with HR guidance coming out so late for lockdown. I am truly knackered by people! But all is well, I picked up my free Percy pigs from my sparks card earlier and they will be gone soon 😂

Now awaiting a referral appointment to the hospital for my dodgy ear. Not too hopeful though as apparently as it’s a fungal infection it could take weeks to clear up. It’s already been two months 😢 Doctor also wants me to get tested for diabetes as that can cause ear infections but can’t get that done at present as there is a shortage of testing equipment I really shouldn’t eat the Percy pigs

Been too busy to spend money though!

Happierwithouthim · 06/11/2020 10:42

Funny ye talking about sourdough, I looked at my starter in fridge this morning and thought perhaps I might make some bread this weekend and then decided, diet is going well forget it!!!

Ds wanted kersplat for his birthday, smyths just had kerplunk I thought he was mixing it up, dd saw an ad for it yesterday and I've now reserved it in Argos €19.67, must also getting wrapping paper and a card as we're going to celebrate on Sat/Sun.

Afternoon everyone Smile
Have been busy packing Christmas presents Hmm yes it's that time of year again , spent 160 ONLINE AT ATS on 2 new rear tyres for the car and a wheel locking nut part that Dh told me he HAD to have from Amazon for 7, tyres being done half 8 on Monday Grin

Mrsmadevans · 06/11/2020 15:45

Love hope you are ok & it isn't Diabetes Flowers

WreckTangled · 06/11/2020 15:51

Love Lloyds pharmacy do diabetes screening for £10 and are currently still doing it. Would that be an option? They will do it there and then so won't need the lab chemicals which is what there's a shortage of.

I went food shopping today and then to the range to get Christmas paper. I like it for stockings as 10m is only £1.50 or something. Also sparklers were half price so got some of those

Lovemaltesers · 06/11/2020 16:15

Thanks wreck, I’ll look into that. Both my mum and grandma got type 2 as they got older so it does feel inevitable. But my mum didn’t have it until she is older than I am now, also she was significantly more overweight than me.

WreckTangled · 06/11/2020 16:46

I think I remember you saying before love about your family history. Hopefully you don't have it but worth checking.

Happierwithouthim · 06/11/2020 17:13

€5.30 on lunch
After 4 emails and some time on live chat, I got the response that my mortgage extension is gone to the formal underwriting stage now and that I'll know early next week, which tells me sweet FA!!!

Shortly afterwards I got a text to let me know that Harvey Norman have an extra 20% off furniture, bedding and homewares that expires on Monday at midnight Sad

Also bought a hdmi adaptor to stream from my phone to new projector when it comes. €17.78, thought this might be handy
