Come on over Happier!

Wolfcub · 13/09/2020 09:02

I am currently filling 40+ years of nail and staple holes in a staircase. Rock and roll

Tapas night was great, gave €5 tip & bought the owner a gift of vintage toilet sign this morning €7.50. She's my friends sister & it's nice to see her doing well.

Holes filled, millions of the little buggers. Tidied up emulsion into the corners, will be covered by new carpet up to the turn in the stairs but I don't like knowing it's a mess. Sanding. All wood in attic and office and the little staircase washed as the power sander kicked off lots of nasty yellow dust despite having a dust bag. Ready for priming now which df has said he will do for me so that I can get on with glossing.

Damaged doors taken back to df's ready for b&q to collect them. Slightly concerned new doors won't be here and hung in time for decorator. Not that I can't do them myself but I am knackered!

Bed stripped, bedding washed, mattress flipped and remade.

Washing on line, frugal win. Towels now in wash while I have a cuppa.

Also drove the camper van, yay. Will be no problem once I get used to the different gearbox layout. Smaller than 17 seaters I've driven in the past so yay.

Didn't sleep well last night as back and hip giving me gip, going to go for a walk and do some photography later before I pick ds up

ememem84 · 13/09/2020 14:47

still working on assignment.

dh came back from B&Q. we've had lunch and the dc's are napping. dh is upstairs napping in think. he's promised ds that he will take him to see fil later on. fingers crossed.

Mrsmadevans · 13/09/2020 15:03

NSD for me today agisn! Unbelievable !
Wolf hope your hip feels better love Flowers you have done so much well done!

SnugglySnerd · 13/09/2020 15:08

I am on it today! Finished some painting I started ages ago, 3 loads of washing on line, lawn mowed, made soup for lunch, packaged up an Ebay sale and listed some more stuff plus the coat I listed last week finishes later on and it is doing very well. Feeling very frugal today! Just sitting down for a rest and a banana!

ChristmasSeacow · 13/09/2020 18:41

I. Am. So. Stuffed.

Moules were very juicy - from the local posh fishmonger, will defo buy again. And the gravy for the pork was really nice - I did what Jamie O told me to do with extra veg in the pan and it was delicious, thick and lovely and not fatty. And proper crackly crackling. And the fondants were still runny in the middle. PHEW! I have that tiredness that comes from a big meal and lunchtime drinking not to mention going to bed at 2am . My kitchen is a bomb site though.,

Our borough has the highest covid rates in London so school has sent a message saying that we now need to wear masks for pick up and drop off. It’s not the end of the world as I have made loads, but still feeling a bit 😬 at what a long winter this is going to be.

Tonight I’m going to do some online shopping. Really get started on Christmas. Yay.

Wolfcub · 13/09/2020 19:01

It was a NSD until I lost the eyepiece for the camera whilst I was out and about £12 for a replacement

Happierwithouthim · 13/09/2020 19:26

Christmas my friend mentioned yesterday it might be difficult to get stuff online coming closer to Christmas if we enter a lockdown so I'm thinking maybe I should start buying. Or at least figuring out what they want at least.

Wolf I missed that what camper? Envy

€25 to kennels
€6 playground treats
€165.69 on groceries and clothes and pjs for dc

Em how many thousand words do you need? Sounds like your dh is pulling his weight

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 13/09/2020 20:50

I passed my assignments! Am so relieved 😌

We've had a nice weekend, beautiful weather. Only spend was £15 to the dog trainer Ystd.

I'm signed off for another week, dd is doing well though so I'm fairly confident I'll be able to go back to work the following week.

Mrsmadevans · 13/09/2020 20:59

Girlie congratulations Yay! Smile
Happier l am going to do the same.
Sea yummy l am drooling at your meal description Grin

ememem84 · 13/09/2020 21:53

5000 words +/- 10% I’m at 4800 ish. I’m printing it tomorrow and will then red pen it.

Played playdough with the dcs when they woke up. Dd ate lots. Oopsy.

SnugglySnerd · 13/09/2020 22:10

Good work on the assignments Girlie and Em!

Sea we got that message from school last week and have been wearing masks on the school run since Thursday. I feel a bit sorry for all those children having to pick their parents out of a line of people in masks, especially Reception who had enough new stuff to cope with already! It has been fine though. We will get used to it I suppose.

AdoraBell · 13/09/2020 22:43

Well done Girlie 🍾

Went the New Forest to meet SIL with her abusive boyfriend, oops friend . DH paid for lunch and drinks. I didn’t spend today. Groceries tomorrow will be about £60-£65.

Wolfcub · 14/09/2020 06:28

Congratulations Girlie Thanksglad to hear dd is doing better too

Good going Em

Happier it's my dad's camper, he insured me on it a few weeks ago and I've been a bit hesitant to drive it

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/09/2020 06:46

Well done girlie
Also pleased dd seems better

£90 ehcp fee today. £6 scooter park

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 14/09/2020 08:49

Thanks everyone, I'm pleased to have passed the assignments and it helps convince me that I am actually qualified to do my job (I still have a big dose of imposter syndrome most days!)

Dd is slowly getting there, eating more regularly and seems generally more relaxed. I think I completely underestimated how much lockdown had effected her mentally 😕 I'm just praying we don't go into a second lockdown or anyone in her year at school gets it!

I've got a friend coming over later this morning and then I'm going to start preparing the living room for decorating. All the skirting boards need a good wash as I've not really done them since I moved in 😬

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/09/2020 08:58

IKWYM about imposter syndrome

ememem84 · 14/09/2020 12:23

girlie well done you xxx

sea oh I love that Sunday afternoon post Sunday lunch wine tiredness!!!

mrs I love how hard you work for mumbob. I hope they know how lucky they are. You’re so kind.

Current view. Dh treated us to a spa day. Pool and reflexology foot spa are the only “things” available
Which is a little disappointing (no sauna or steam or hot tub. But Covid). But we’re getting a lovely back next shoulder massage and a “make my face look brand spanking new again” facial!! Dparents have the kids. Wahooo.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/09/2020 12:27

There are worse places to be em!

ememem84 · 14/09/2020 12:30

Mrsmadevans · 14/09/2020 15:08

Ahh thank you Em it was havoc there this morning , Dd1 was supposed to be going this morning for us to have a day off but Mum had eaten 2 boxes of Sugar free sweets and they had caused her to have in her words 'an explosion' Grin Poor Bob l say, he had to get up and sort her out in the night ! Anyway to cut a long story short , we went up very early instead and sorted her out another 2 loads of washing and a good old scrub of the bathroom later and a Dioralyte cuppa tea and a bar of Cadburys choc and she was much better, Dd1 doing tomorrow now instead Grin
Anyway alls well that ends well Grin
