Born thank you that is so kind of you Smile . l am so sorry about your Dad , it is so difficult being the other side of the bed STS . You just want them to have the very best standard of care. l think the staff in ITU are amazing , so professional.
As for you having to do the OD , OMG l do not envy you that !
We used to have a blank rota pinned up ages before Christmas so that ppl could volunteer to do the shifts. You had to do at least 1 shift over Christmas each, There was no A/L allowed but everyone could book a BH so as to be fair. It wasn't too bad because the little cliques used to all want to work together Grin l don't know if you have them on your ward too Grin . It got quite nasty on times they were very silly , l wasn't in a clique l just got on with everyone Grin
I better get to bed , have a good night Smile

I’ve managed to get it done now born, I can’t leave things otherwise I’ll just never get it done. I might see if DM could have the DC at hers for a night this weekend so I can have a break.

mrs a lot of it is from DS being ill, I had to do the bedding twice as he was sick in mine and his bed. I like to give the whole house a food scrub after sickness though it makes me feel icky. I do love our Christmas plans, I’m very excited this year as DD should be old enough to really understand. I’m really sorry to hear about your lovely neighbour 💐

I’m really sorry about DD girlie, it’s so difficult loving someone with an illness. I know I haven’t been on here very long and you may be much closer to other members but my DM’s are always open if you ever need a vent/chat💐

I love salt dough decorations unescorted, I have to make biscuits when I make them though because I always want to eat the salt dough.

I also just wanted to share this pic of the DC watching the rain. They absolutely love rainy weather but I didn’t want them to go in it today so they stood at the door watching it.

Ah Girlie I have no advice but lots of love and sympathy to give. They really know how to hurt and push your buttons. Whatever she's saying she doesn't really mean it, she's testing boundaries, repeating things she hears at school and checking that she can do/say horrible things and still be loved. Can she spend the weekend with your mum so you can have a bit of a mental health break for yourself?

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/10/2020 07:05

Big hug girlie. It is the ED talking. She is lashing out at those closest to her as you keep her safe. Hurts when they do it though.
We got you lovely x

Bornlazy · 01/10/2020 07:39

Big hugs Girlie my ds2 is a similar age to your dd and he is going through a very selfish phase. It's almost comical just how hard done to he thinks he is but its so hurtful too as we give him everything we possibly can. Everything I do is wrong and that's without throwing an ED into the mix so you have my utmost respect and sympathies Flowers

ememem84 · 01/10/2020 08:05

Day at home for me. Back is still super sore and I have a sore throat so staying home. Dd also home with new because she has a bit of a cold and red spots... sigh.

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2020 08:08

Morning everyone 😀
I had a feeling the washing was from the illness l can remember similar piles when mine were little 💐 Look at your darling children AHH Orange they are beautiful 😍 you must be so proud of them 💖
Hugs. Girlie l know it's hard for you , teenage years are not easy at the best of times, surging hormones and mood swings like Born says it's not an easy time bless you 💐

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2020 08:13

Em hope you are ok love 💐
Poor DD too bless you it's all such a trying time for us all . My Bff is really depressed , her son , my Godson is disabled and she has no help with him ATM because of lockdown. I really wonder how many ppl have been driven to despair over this .
We just have to keep going, look after ourselves, come here and vent . At least there is always a friendly word here for everyone. It's a lovely group xx

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2020 08:29

Weighed our hedgie last night , 720g so fine for hibernation 😀 . Adorable Hedgie ❤️

Omg I love a hedgehog 😍 is cag still about, I seem to remember she loved hedgehogs as well!!

Thanks for all your kind words, I think I'm very hormonal atm (horrendous period) which means my mental reserves are lower than normal. Ystd it wasn't even what she said, we'd taken the dog out and she wanted to walk an extra field which I didn't feel up to (she always pushes the walks to increase her steps which is the ED) and she just left me. It upset me that she cared more about pleasing the ED than me when I wasn't feeling great. I also think it's the smaller things like that which tip me over the edge as there are 100s of 'little' ED related things every day. It's exhausting.

Anyway keep plodding on, I know underneath it all my lovely dd is in there!!

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2020 09:07

I think CAG is here but has a different name now can't remember what it was. Will have a think. Great stuff Girlie you can do this it's a crap time for you but it will end sweetpea xx

ememem84 · 01/10/2020 09:14

@SingToTheSky look!!! Hedgehogs!

I’m ok @Mrsmadevans or I would be if I could actually do what everyone keeps telling me to do and rest up. Dd has other ideas today. Cleaner is coming at 1230. Dd has emptied all toys into the living room floor.

Dm has been roped I. To help me (as I can’t lift Dd really). Dh was superbly helpful this morning and suggested I just rest like he did when his back went. I pointed out that he was able to rest because he didn’t have to also take care of the kids.

ChristmasSeacow · 01/10/2020 10:50

Yes, it’s @SingToTheSky we need, she’s been quite quiet recently, hope all is well.

I also made @LonelyOversharer flapjack yesterday, to an ecstatic reception from DS and DH . Hope all is okay there too BrewCake

Yesterday I mostly worked and in between, cleaned up fox poo from our driveway / porch / floor mats Envy

ChristmasSeacow · 01/10/2020 10:51

Hope your back is better soon Em - good that DM can help

ChristmasSeacow · 01/10/2020 10:54

Oh btw, I did buy the towels with my accumulated vouchers, thanks to the enablers Wink. Most I’ve ever spent on towels, these ones:

www.johnlewis.com/orla-kiely-duo-stem-towels/p4891372?size=bath-sheet

I’ll send them back if they’re not stunning irl. But I doubt it’ll come to that Grin

SingToTheSky · 01/10/2020 11:33

Hello! Thanks for the tags and OMG HEDGEHOGS!!! So cute!

Yeah I’m ok thanks just plodding through life tbh, it’s been a bit crazy trying to settle back into routine so I’m not keeping up with as many threads and we are not being frugal AT ALL 😳😳😳

Not read the thread but em yikes sorry about the back pain, hope it’s better soon! And girlie I’m sorry to see DD is struggling with the ED 💐💐

ChristmasSeacow · 01/10/2020 11:50

Heh Sing, glad you are still here, if not here . I am also not being frugal!

How could I forget to comment on the hedgehog! Mrs, is this the first we’ve known about him /her? I didn’t actually know people kept them as pets, my little DD would go mad for one! Sadly she’s got to make do with snails . Really sorry to hear about your neighbour too, but like others said, glad the family got to say their goodbyes.

ememem84 · 01/10/2020 12:02

We are at dms. She came round helped me tidy up before the cleaners come and then we’ve come to dparents house.

I feel awfully guilty about letting work down. But can’t do much about it.

Nursery fees paid today. Yikes.

Trying to also decide what to order Chinese wise tomorrow. Do I go for all the things I love, or get something everyone loves, or just a set menu. It’s my birthday tomorrow so family are coming round and we’re getting a takeaway.

SnugglySnerd · 01/10/2020 13:47

Been MIA for a few days, trying to stay on top of my marking!

Love the hedgehog! So cute.

It is a beautiful day here. We have been apple picking at a local NT place and it was warm sitting in the sun with our picnic. Lots of apples now, I think a few crumbles are in order...

Happierwithouthim · 01/10/2020 13:51

Girlie I've an Orla Kiely tent Grin it stands out at a campsite Grin

em go for what you love it's your birthday after all, hope back gets better quickly.

I booked an expensive colour for a few weeks time but now I've to make a 5 hour round trip for a patch test [arrgh]

Bornlazy · 01/10/2020 16:00

Towels are lovely Sea and I bet they'll last for ages.

em hope your back feels better soon. Resting with small children is virtually impossible.

Love oh no that's quite a journey for a patch test.

Just picked ds2 up from school and he is doing my head in 🤯 Relentless moaning about absolutely everything. Wants his teeth whitened - I won't let him - it's all so unfair. Everyone gets their teeth whitened. It's like having a toddler again 😠

anorangeaday · 01/10/2020 17:27

Hiya all. Just back in from work, will take the dog over the woods later. I’ve put a fish pie on for dinner. I stopped in at ASDA on the way home and they have a few Christmassy bits out, I forgot to take a pic but next time I go I’ll take some. I’m also going to sort through my finances tonight and see how much I can put aside maybe for a holiday or to do some days out over Christmas.

I hope you and DD feel better soon em, it seems like everyone’s a bit worse for wear lately. I’m glad to hear DM helped. Go for what you want with the Chinese, it’s your birthday!

mrs the piles do build up after sickness don’t they! I remember my mom doing washing after I was ill when I was little, it feels so weird that I’m the one doing the washing for my littles now. And thank you mrs, they are gorgeous if I do say so myself. I’m so proud of them both they are my pride and joy. I’m sorry to hear about your bff, it has been so difficult for so many people. Your hedgehog is gorgeous❤️

Love the towels sea

Ooh snuggly I’d love to go apple picking. My aunt used to have an apple tree in her garden, we made lovely crumbles.

anorangeaday · 01/10/2020 18:28

Oh also I forgot to say, I’ve put the Halloween decs up in the playroom. I have autumn decs up in the kitchen already but I’m gonna get some pumpkins soon to put in my fireplace for a display.

Love the Halloween decs. I love the autumn!

anorangeaday · 01/10/2020 20:19

Me too snuggly!

Also I forgot to say there’s been a case at my school. Some staff and a class are isolating. I’m really hoping my class doesn’t have any cases but I know I’m most likelihood we will at some point
