So it is em. Happy early birthday.
NSS wasn't.
£20 candles for Christmas, £1 Sellotape, ££ Iceland, £5 Aldi, £7 skatepark, something else on line Hmm

northender · 27/09/2020 18:04

GWS to your Ds orange.
We did go out last night. It was lovely. It's one of our favourite pubs & they had a backyard/beer garden, but during lockdown they developed a great takeaway/delivery service and covered the outdoor area, so it is still outdoors but stays dry. They have lovely lights and a big pizza oven, you could be somewhere much more exotic than a northern mill town! Very unfrugally we are going to go for tea on Wednesday as its dh's last day in his current job.
Today has been a bit slow, I did some weeding this morning & am planning sewing tonight. Tea is beef casserole from the freezer with roasties, yorkshires & veg.

Frugaleers who know the Doncaster to rugby area. Where is food for Friday night tea? We leave here about 4 and DS birthday. Ideally near A/M1/ M18

ememem84 · 27/09/2020 19:38

He had a lovely day! So excited.

I’m prepping for tomorrow. Another week. Not been a fab weekend. But less about that.

SnugglySnerd · 27/09/2020 20:05

Hope all is ok Em?

Poor orange ds, I hope he feels better soon.

Nsd. Been tidying up the garden and planning some of the bulbs I bought in pots but then ran out of compost so will have to do the rest next week.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 27/09/2020 21:14

I'm cream crackered, been a busy and productive weekend, my living room is slowly taking shape. Dd also painted one of her bedroom walls today.

I painted this bureau today, really pleased with how it's turned out.

Bed soon 😴

anorangeaday · 28/09/2020 01:24

DS has just woke up being sick again, definitely no nursery for him tomorrow. I’ll have to see if my gran can come over and have him. He’s really not very well, I’m hoping it’s just a 48 hour bug and he’ll feel better in a few days. I hate it when they’re sick. He’s watching some Thomas but I won’t sleep much now, I don’t like sick it keeps me awake in case they’re sick in their sleep and the choke. It really worries me, god help me when they’re in their teens and off out drinking until the morning.

Thanks for the well wishes for him everyone :).

north that pub sounds lovely, I do love a good beer garden.

girlie that looks fab!

I hope you’ve managed to get some sleep wolf

Cat face is gorgeous em, so glad your DS had a good day! I hope you’re okay💐

Lovely news about nephews house mrs, how has DD been getting on? Is her area in lockdown, I know Cardiff is but I think you said she was a few miles out of it. Is she all moved in now?

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/09/2020 06:58

Cat face is still gorgeous em. Big hug sweetie.

Maybe a nsd today.

Wolfcub · 28/09/2020 07:11

Orange I hope ds feels better today

Catface is gorgeous

Miraculously ds stayed in bed, so whilst it was a stressy evening we did actually get some sleep, yay

Not feeling the work code at all this morning

Bornlazy · 28/09/2020 11:12

Morning everyone. It's a holiday weekend here so no school today. Weather is miserable so no plans to go anywhere. I've lots of things I could be doing in the house but think I'll have a day of watching TV instead. I'm rewatching Luther and like it even better second time around.

Girlie love the bureau you've made a great job of it.

Orange hope your ds feels better soon.

em catface is beautiful she looks really big. Is she or is she all fur?

north that pub sounds lovely - enjoy

CamdenLurker · 28/09/2020 13:52

Hi everyone

Day off today and need to crack on with some ironing. Nice easy dinner tonight, just pasta and Garlic bread - no stress!
*
Orange* - hope ds is feeling better, poor little thing, it's horrible isn't it!

Mrs - do you live in the countryside? We've all been sneezing this week and it seems to coincide with the farmer harvesting his crops in the field next to our house.

Girlie - great job on the upcycling, I've given it a go for the first time this weekend, I really wanted some Ercol chairs but they are out of my budget so I picked up these chairs at a car boot last week and wanted to paint them black, I used Frenchic paint which cost more than the chairs Hmm one down three to go.

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to dye the seat pads? I can order new ones from John Lewis but if I can give these a new lease of life that would be a bonus.

The weather is quite nice here today, sun is shining after a very chilly weekend. Hope everyone's having a good day.

Oops - bold fail, not sure what's happened there!

ChristmasSeacow · 28/09/2020 14:04

Hi all, I dropped off the thread, I’ve been laid low over the weekend with a migraine but was suffering a bit last week too. I think I’ve realised I just can’t drink wine anymore, it really triggers me 😭

Not frugal here, some Christmas shipping and also buying fabric for a quilt I’m making for Ds. Boy, that stuff really adds up!

Love those chairs Camden. I have ercol butterfly chairs and love them but it was a big investment. Yours look very much in the style and have cleaned up great! I am not sure that swirly pattern would disappear on dyeing the seat pads. If you don’t want it to show at all you’d probably need to make new covers for them - not too expensive to do it yourself but if you’re not handy at sewing and have to pay someone you might find it cheaper to buy new, if you can get a cushion shape that suits.

I’m in a looong work meeting, I need tea and biscuits but can’t go!

Happierwithouthim · 28/09/2020 15:32

Yesterdays Spends
€60 H & M on clothes for dd
€47 Penneys Clothes for dd
Ds got clothes a couple of weeks ago so she was due some too, growth and changing seasons!

€30 family entry to Foynes Flying Boat Museum, was very good and ds didn't hear her refer to it as a 'family' ticket, he wouldn't have been impressed as bf is not FAMILY Hmm

€18.35 on junk before we went, dd did get a sandwich in that
€5 on junk on the way home, bf paid for the balance and also paid for KFC

Au pair paid me balance due on car on Sat eve also.

camden chair looks very good, and girlie your bureau looks fab too

anorangeaday · 28/09/2020 17:28

Evening all! Hope everyone’s well. DGran stayed with DS today and they had a lovely day together, apparently he was sick a few more times but it was basically just water. So I’ll give him tomorrow off and see how he goes. My Dsis1 broke up with her boyfriend today and is a bit upset god love her. I’ve transferred my dad £15 to get her some flowers and chocolate from me and the kids to cheer her up, I’ll hopefully be able to visit her soon. The weathers horrible, it’s getting dark here already. I’ve ordered some Christmas presents! £19.99 on lullaby holly for DD and £22.49 for waffle the wonder dog for DS. Also went and got some stuff the stockings for the DC which came to £35.6

Thank you wolf I’m glad to hear you managed to get some sleep.

Thanks born, I love Luther but I hate watching it on my own. I can’t sleep!.

Chairs looks great camden, I’m not sure about dyeing the pads. Do you want the pattern to stay?. He’s feeling better than this morning and much more himself, thank you. It is horrible when they’re poorly and you can’t fix it.

I hope your migraine has eased sea

AdoraBell · 28/09/2020 18:48

£59 on grocery delivery, another £12-ish on bits I didn’t know I needed until DH suggested to make a packed lunch 🤦‍♀️

ememem84 · 28/09/2020 22:07

born she’s both. She’s a big stocky lump of a cat (6.5kg at last weigh in) but she’s also superbly fluffy. Lovely thick fur. She’s a shorthair but I don’t think part pedigree breed. I do know she was the smallest of the litter.... my riding instructor has two of her brothers. They’re enormous bruisers. One is a ginger tabby the other is more tabby and white. But big cats. Catface is 5 we think. We’ve had her since sept 2016 and I’m pretty sure she was 1 then. So she’s fully grown now.

All is ok here. Just a monumentally crappy weekend. Dh and I argued and picked each other to pieces. We’re ok now. I think if I’m honest it needed to be said.

Spends today:

£414 parish rates (similar to council tax I think)
£328 house insurance.
£28 next on tights for Dd and some leggings
£16 wellies for nursery for them both
