Lovemaltesers · 16/09/2020 21:03

Update: I am not good at folding napkins 😂

Lovemaltesers · 16/09/2020 21:04

NSD too!

anorangeaday · 16/09/2020 21:06

Hi all! Busy day, DD felt fine this morning so sent her into school but she says she feels poorly again. I’m not sure if she is a bit nervous about nursery, I’d do the same and complain of feeling ill to get time off. She seems fine in the mornings though!.

Both DC are in bed now, DS didn’t want to go to bed, I can hear him laughing to himself, he’s been so cheeky lately. He’s started to learn to run, which has been fun to say the least. His favourite word is no as well, to everything. We had a lovely day at the beach this weekend, he was really enjoying himself and I asked I’m if he had a nice day and he just says no😂

I hope your hands better now em

girlie willow tree green looks lovely.

That’s so annoying happier!

I’m settling down with some jam tarts and having a cuppa. I’ve popped on some doctor who. I’m hoping to get to sleep earlier tonight, I had an hour and half last night.

ememem84 · 16/09/2020 21:47

In bed. Dh is meal planning. I’m dicking around online.

£60 on underwear in next. Aside from the slip I bought (never have I ever had one of these before but dsis gave me a dress which needs it....) I also got some wire free Bralets/crop tops. The minute I came home bra came off and I put one on. Oh the comfort. Oh the joy. Contained but free. So amazing. 😂

The boss had a mare at me today for not looking presentable. Blue plaid cotton button down shirt, navy slim trousers, pewter brogues. I asked him not to single me out and pointed out the scruffy chinos, polo shirts, trainers and general scruffy ess of some people in the office. Asked if he was going to make a big deal of their dress too.

Leopard print dress and wedges tomorrow. Just to make a point.

Mrsmadevans · 16/09/2020 22:00

Evening everyone , been busy today so only just on here, had to help Dd 2 transfer money around to pay deposit for house. Then sort out home lns then ring the solicitors Hmm.

Orange your little girl ahh bless her , it's daunting for the little ones going to nursery Flowers
Em it's ridiculous what people fall out over weddings, mine was supposed to be no children but we were forced into having 3 on Dh side, that was a row and a half, my side wanted their Dc if Dh side had their children , there were so many that we could have invited but we had 92 as it was with no children! l remember we were so skint at ours we didn't have a car to take us from the reception. We had to beg for a lift from someone, me in my dress , Dh in his suit Grin
Life what National trust thing please? l am all agog l love anything NT Smile
Wolf you are going to make a desk ? That is excellent well done , would love to be able to do a bit of DIY.
Happier that is a real nuisance hope it's sorted soon for you soon, glad your burns are healed , bio oil is excellent for scarring Flowers
Girlie that is brilliant thank you for telling me that it is putting my mind at rest a bit , we know nothing about cars Grin
Hope everyone has had a nice day Smile

Mrsmadevans · 16/09/2020 22:03

Em how very dare he ! Grin
Show him who's a boss tomorrow!

northender · 16/09/2020 23:01

Another horribly busy week at work.
Da has started at uni (via Teams) & seems to be enjoying so far.
Did is anxious as a boy in her class has tested positive for covid. School have identified 25 close contacts who have to be off for 2 weeks now. Can't see how GCSEs can fairly go ahead next year.
Have got a sewing machine and an overlocker listed on eBay. 56 watchers for the overlocker & 40 for the machine so I'm optimistic. Need the money as it has been a spendy few days!

It's a light festival at gibside near Newcastle.
Will find a link. Though it looks like we are now getting local lockdown from tomorrow.

How rude em. Good for you calling him out on the others.

Nsd planned today. Maybe a donation plate at the funeral

I'm sure square or triangle napkins will be perfectly fine. Even rolled

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2020 06:29

@ChristmasSeacow or @lonelyoversharer do either of you need elastic for masks. I got some but never got round to making. It's allergy helpful stuff. Happy to post

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2020 06:29

Or anyone else who is mask making

ememem84 · 17/09/2020 06:36

Might rethink outfit. It’s verrrrrr windy. 💃

But yeah I wasn’t happy. It’s have been ok I think if hed made some statement about dress code in general. But to single me out when I thought I looked nice.... I sent emails to him about it. Didn’t want to make a scene and accuse people of dressing scruffily in person....

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2020 06:40

I can't see what you were wearing was not fine for the office. Smacks a bit of sexiest behavior or a complaint from someone who clearly has no style

Mrsmadevans · 17/09/2020 08:20

Yes l thought it was a bit sexist too. He doesn't fancy you does he and you have rejected his 'office banter' without even a thought? Just wondering Em am probably. Wrong but it seems pretty in the first and downright targeting you at worst.

Mrsmadevans · 17/09/2020 08:21

Petty

Mrsmadevans · 17/09/2020 08:22

Thank you life it sounds lovely 😃

Mrsmadevans · 17/09/2020 08:24

Have a good day everybody 😃

Happierwithouthim · 17/09/2020 08:37

@lifelongfrugaleer

Isn't that the point of a septic tank where your are not on mainstream sewers
Totally the point life Hmm they're to ring me today, I wish this would hurry the f**k along!

orange I'm experiencing similar with my ds who's 6. I was 20 mins late for work this morning over his refusal to go in to breakfast club, usually I work alone but past few days colleague has been starting earlier too, luckily. (that's a whole other story)
I'm torn between just toughening on and hoping he'll get used to it and wanting him to be happy and seeking alternative childcare.

This happened 1.25 hours ago and I'm still fighting tears. Plus rage that their father doesn't have to deal with any of this sh*t AngrySad more sad than angry though.

For a finish after sitting on the concrete with him for 15 mins I rang work to explain myself and he walked in while I was on the phone.

Childcare worker said he's ok but just a little quiet. He asked me last week if he kept being bold there, locking himself into bathroom, would they stop him from going.

€2.10 on scones, it's my only female colleague's birthday today. We'll go for lunch tomo and I'll pay.

On Monday I got a tip of €100 and I intend spending it on a new outfit for dinner Sat night, getting free blowdry as I collected her dd off bus at 11pm one night to help her out.

Is curvy gone or name changed?

Happierwithouthim · 17/09/2020 08:38

EM that's awful, what you were wearing sounds office smart to me.
I'm wearing a h&m slouchy knit jumper, penneys soft navy jeans and rainbow rocket dog canvas shoes

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2020 08:43

Ah happier big hug my lovely.

Wolfcub · 17/09/2020 08:56

Big hugs Happier that sounds really tough and super frustrating that ex doesn't pull his weight in this one. I would give it a little longer before finding alternative care, breakfast club works for you financially and fits with the rest of your life. He's been used to the au pair and this is a big change, it will settle as he makes friends in breakfast club. I'd be inclined to go for the tough love option and drop him off and walk away but I'm not necessarily the best parenting example in the world x

Happierwithouthim · 17/09/2020 09:26

Well ex goes to work in the middle of the night so he never has them on school nights so no experience of this. wolf there are no other children using the service currently so there's no option of making friends, if there was I think it'd be easier.

I did tough love two weeks ago and he locked himself into the bathroom there and took apart the taps, it's a child protection issue then and they can't have him there if he continues like this

Wolfcub · 17/09/2020 15:20

Sorry Happier I hadn't realised he was the only one there

£45 gift shop on bits for me and others. Nice new flamingo notebook for work and puffin mugs
£ 1280 carpet shop

Happierwithouthim · 17/09/2020 16:08

And his sis wolf
Then the day they don't go, there's a child dds age there on his own Confused

€24.91 on ice creams for sunny day, treats for dds sleepover tomo night and spending their pocket money plus two multi packs of low cal crisps for house.
