Busy day. I spray painted our outdoor table and chairs. Less rusty and icky more grey glossy now.

Ran out of paint though halfway through table so need to buy more tomorrow.

Was clever and used the old blind fil “kindly” dumped on us to use in the garden as a privacy screen as a spraying mat. Oh dear it’s all painty now best take it to the tip.

Also got
My sewing machine out and have started on cushions for the table.

My hands are in an awful condition. It feels as though I’ve burnt my fingertips. But know I haven’t. They are all so so dry and red and sore. No idea what ive done.

SnugglySnerd · 01/09/2020 21:00

You lot have been chatty! I'm behind.

Day 1 back at work done. So far so good but no students yet!

Bornlazy · 01/09/2020 21:32

em it'll be all your manual work over the last week or so. Have you used any cleaning stuff that could have irritated your skin. Did you wear gloves when you were painting?

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/09/2020 06:44

Oh no. How awful that paint caught the blind.

Back to work today after my wobble yesterday.

Wolfcub · 02/09/2020 06:44

Bad night's sleep and a very early morning shopping delivery do not a happy Wolf make!

Morning folks. Ds's sport starts again early evening so need to pick him up from his dad's in good time so post work/late afternoon is going to be a bit manic

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/09/2020 06:51

Blimey that is early wolf. Sorry you didn't sleep well

ememem84 · 02/09/2020 07:11

born no....no gloves. Sigh. At least I’ll be using up the moisturiser then!!

wolf that is an early delivery! Yikes!

Today I’m going to b&q and am getting more spray paint so I can finish the table. I have to drop dh to accupuncture today after taking the kiddos to nursery so May also stop at dunelm for an outdoor rug and some cushions for dds room.

Turf guy never turned up yesterday and neither did my furniture. Turns out when next sent the email asking me to choose a delivery slot they meant “choose a day it’ll get to your local delivery team and it’ll be delivered within 3 days of this”

ememem84 · 02/09/2020 07:31

£51 Homebase on Teal lemur wallpaper. Three rolls plus delivery.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 02/09/2020 08:34

We went to Dun Elm Ystd to get some bits for dds room, she has moved it all around and cleared out a lot of stuff. She spent £40 of her own money on a new rug and some cushions. I spent £30 on new bedding for her and some other bits.

I bought a few tester paint pots in wickes to start thinking about decorating the living room. £4.

Today going to b&q to look at more paints and also Sainsbury's for some food and school trousers for dd.

Slightly jealous of those with kids going back to school this week. We've still got over a week to wait

Lovemaltesers · 02/09/2020 09:26

DD2 doesn’t go back until Monday wolf, DD1 does 2 and a half hours on Friday as her transition day to middle school 😱

ememem84 · 02/09/2020 10:26

Coffee with a view. Dm called me on my way to nursery. Would I like to join them for coffee and sea swim. Ok!!!

So very quick dip and then coffee on the slipway. So lovely. Not yet made it to dunelm...

Mrs rant away. They say you can’t choose your family... yours sounds a bit crap. But your own DH and kids sounds like good ‘uns at least, job well done there.

We took DS for a covid test yesterday - his cough is now dry. I am sure it’s mild asthma but you never know, and we’ll need the clear result for him to go to school. So home we stay while we await the result. So no office for me tomorrow either. And no stay-and-play introduction to nursery for DD today, which I am really sad about.

I’ve had a stinking headache for 3 days now. Paracetamol isn’t touching it. I suspect carb withdrawal is a factor (gotta get back on the health kick now holiday is over) but god, it’s awful!

Lovemaltesers · 02/09/2020 10:49

Have you tried ibuprofen instead sea? Although still over the counter, it seems to work better for headaches for me.

Hopefully the test comes back today!

Lovemaltesers · 02/09/2020 10:51

Looks lovely em

Can’t be bothered today, proper day back in work tomorrow, I suspect that is the reason why!

Unescorted · 02/09/2020 11:16

Morning all.

wolf our delivery person was really early this morning too. DD's Amazon habit shows no sign of abating. It is as well she is earning from her art.

I have spent the morning icing the walls - the previous person did such a rubbish job of plastering. I have filled in the scrape marks from where they sloshed and toshed. I am now waiting for the plaster skim to dry before sanding.

DS is back to school tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/09/2020 12:51

Tomorrow and Monday for us for school

Nice em

ChristmasSeacow · 02/09/2020 15:35

Unescorted wasn’t DD going for a minimalist approach to equipping herself for university? Wink (On that note, more seriously, have you had confirmation that she will have access to a kitchen, as not all oxford colleges have kitchens available for students who are housed in college? If not then a mini fridge is a fantastic purchase for milk, cheese and the basics booze ).

Love I took ibuprofen this morning and it’s taken the edge off it but I still have a headache. I have booked an eye test as I think that might be a factor - 2 week wait though.

Bornlazy · 02/09/2020 15:51

Could it be your sinuses sea, if there's a cold bug doing its rounds? I used to get lots of sinus headaches and Sinutab was the only thing that worked for me.

nsd today

Unescorted · 02/09/2020 17:56

We thought she was too sea. No confirmation on kitchen facilities - but they are saying hall is take out only or strict booking system.

My arms are falling off, but the kitchen (including all the units) has been sugar soaped and the plaster patches are dried. Tomorrow will be sand and paint.

ememem84 · 02/09/2020 18:17

Creative afternoon. Sewing machine came out.
