Born I was looking for the (England) govt guidelines about what constitutes a temperature in a child and I couldn’t find it! NHS generally says over 38 but I didn’t know if there was any specific guidance for Covid.

Am waiting for amazon prime to deliver the thermometer anyway.

Bornlazy · 25/08/2020 14:43

I don't think it differentiates between children and adults Sea. In hospital we don't tend to do anything unless a patient's temperature is above 38 for adults so the 37.8 seems to have been pulled out a hat must have came from The WHO.

I've been on a bit of a bender spending wise. Its funny how you can look at the same things that you hate in your house for years and then suddenly bam! You just need to replace them.

I'm not the kind of person who feels the need to change things all the time unlike my mother and her summer curtains winter curtains and in between curtains so when I need to replace things its usually a lot.

ememem84 · 25/08/2020 15:53

Ahem.

One gigantic heart attack inducing “is it on me?! I can feel it on me?!” Spider and an entire wheely bin of crap later. And we are tidy.

Went to dunelm with dsis for more storage baskets.

Also hit the charity shop for frames for my art gallery wall. £16 for 4 x A2 maybe size frames.

Orders blinds for four rooms, this will finish off all window coverings in the house. Spendy but discount for paying up front.

Long day at work and have an urgent paper to draft in the morning. God knows what about, my direction was vague at best but there's six figures riding on getting it right. Hmm

Seven figures. This is why we don't trust me with maths

Grin Wolf

My garage looks much worse than your ‘before’ picture Em - and we’re supposed to be converting it to living space! Gawd knows where we’ll put everything.

DD’s temperature is 37.4. I checked 3 times. Tbh she does feel a little hot, but possibly not as much as yesterday. But I couldn’t measure her then. So not really sure what to do. She’s completely cheerful, just rather snotty.

Happierwithouthim · 25/08/2020 17:59

Em I think your garage wasn't awful before but looks great now.
In my new house, hopefully my new house, I'm going to have a garden shed & a massive open faced shed. I plan to shelve the garden shed similar to yours.

Tayto have you room ordered? Because dm has two copies. I spent €164 on school books and was distinctly unimpressed with size of bundle & the fact that ex's name was on label, obviously previous order had his name on it.
In other news, he transferred his share of back to school expenses so far on Sunday Grin
Sligo's lovely my grand aunt lived there when I was young so we visited annually with my Nan & then my sis went to college there too.

Only read back as far as sea's boob post so far Grin

Bornlazy · 25/08/2020 18:05

I think if she's not got a temperature of 37.8 or above and she's not got a cough then I'd assume it's not CV. You are sticking to the guidelines and not breaking any rules. Obviously if anything changes then you'd need to rethink. Would it be your dm looking after her ? It's so difficult isn't it?

ememem84 · 25/08/2020 18:22

The reason I tidied it was because I tripped over the pram yesterday ricocheted off the freezer stepped on a rake (sideshow bob style) fell on paddle board and then almost fell in the wheely bin. 😂

Picked kiddos up from nursery. Ds went to preschool for a few hours today. Yay! Loved it. Same nursery just new room.

Lovemaltesers · 25/08/2020 18:38

I thought we’d done a good job clearing our garage em . Appears I need to raise my standards to yours!

Unescorted · 25/08/2020 18:47

Tayto my mum is from Mayo. I remember visiting when we were kids - which from Oz was quite a trip and a bit of a culture shock in the 70's. My dad was a whizz in computers so the idea of pumping the drinking water into a bucket was a contrast to say the least. Thinking about the thing that shocked me most was ice on the inside of my Uncle's house in England.

sea your scarf is beautiful. Hope your DD is feeling a bit better.

em that is a tidy up and a half.
I am hoping our house gets there soon - between you and wolf I am inspired to put into action Operation Crack Den. DD has been drafted in to help.

Snuggly I have no idea how people are going to cope with work and small kids in the Rona Era. It was bad enough when you could dose them with Calpol and send them in anyway.

I have just watched ds and dh make a lasagne (having decided it was what we were having for dinner & shop for the ingredients) I refuse to feel guilty...even when they emptied and reloaded the dishwasher.

Bornlazy · 25/08/2020 19:03

The problem with our garage is we need to ruthlessly throw half of it in the bin. Dh keeps building shelves to store it all but it's really just a temporary tidy for a permanent mess.

Lovemaltesers · 25/08/2020 19:21

We took half the contents of our garage to the tip born . To be fair, we sort stuff to go to the tip and then stick it in the garage so shouldn’t be a surprise. I keep marvelling at the emptiness of my garage whilst now realising I don’t have high standards
We still need to sort the shelves that we can now actually get to.

Unescorted · 25/08/2020 19:23

I fantasise about getting a skip and loading 90% of the crap in our house into it. My DH has the keep it in case it is useful. I am if it is not currently useful the likelihood of it becoming useful are nil to minimal and therefore we may as well sling it out.

Lovemaltesers · 25/08/2020 19:23

Yep the dosing up with calpol and sending us all off to school is going to be a thing of the past. I don’t think my childminder is going to allow any illness whatsoever, but stuck for options as school isn’t running breakfast or afterschool club

Lovemaltesers · 25/08/2020 19:25

I’m going to tackle the DCs rooms and be ruthless of stuff once I have my day off without them again . I might then start on DPs stuff Grin

Lovemaltesers · 25/08/2020 19:28

I must also marvel at the speed of getting some medicine for my bad ear from the GP today. I submitted an e-consult at 8.10am, by 9.30am I had an email saying they had sent a prescription for it to the pharmacy.

ememem84 · 25/08/2020 19:29

I’m tackling one of the dcs rooms tomorrow. Or maybe the toys in the living room.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/08/2020 19:30

Great work on the garage. Still loads of clutter to get from ours
Motivated now as seen a house to buy. Not that it will be around long, selling fast here

Bornlazy · 25/08/2020 19:54

Love I do that too. When I declutter the house I put all the crap in the garage until we can take it to the tip. We currently have a washing machine two bikes and two scooters all needing chucked. It gives me the heebie jeebies as it's got spiders and the occasional field mouse in it 😱

Wolfcub · 25/08/2020 20:12

I had another chuck out yesterday and sent a bag of bits to ex's tonight, I love a chuck out so cathartic

Me too wolf

Just seen tampax ad on tv. “Get it up there girls” dh was a bit 😱 he said it’s a more graphic than any other period related ads he’s seen. And aren’t they usually just women sky diving in white jeans.... haha

ememem84 · 25/08/2020 20:23

Re decluttering. I’m now firmly on the “use it or lose it” side now. Before we had the dc I would have kept everything. Now I’m ruthless. If we don’t use it I’m donating.

I’ve gotten rid of most paper bills - we have one each thats only for kyc purposes so less post and less filing.

Anything we use frequently I’m keeping. Seasonal stuff is being thrown in the loft (I’ll bag things up but am not going up there as spiders) so umbrellas for table buckets sides etc (except for two which will remain in the car for winter beach sandcastles/stone collecting). Catface’s bowls have been ditched - kept the two we use most often.

Tomorrow I’m doing the dcs toys downstairs. I chatted with dh and he thinks this needs to be done post haste.

Lovemaltesers · 25/08/2020 21:09

wolf I had a read of the CS pension consultation document you highlighted and also got something in the post today. If I understand it correctly, if I’d stayed in the job all my pension contributions would have stayed in the “old” scheme until March 2022. One of my reasons for leaving the job was the new scheme was no longer as beneficial including the raise in age to claim the pension 😫 Ahhh!

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/08/2020 21:18

We have 20 years of clutter here. I'm slowly working through the house. DS is a hoarder, DD ruthless. I'm just tome poor but going to make an effort this weekend as it's a three day one.

Ah no love.
Doesn't affect me as I've not been in long enough I don't think.
