Thank you north! Good luck with the uni!

I’m glad DD is feeling better mrs

I’m sorry things are so tough *lonely!

Sorry for lack of personals, really busy with holiday packing. Weathers drained me a bit too!

Bornlazy · 19/08/2020 19:31

Thanks Wolf for pension link.

Lonely that's a terrible system they have. I don't understand how they expect anyone to be able to do that 😨 People who work can claim PIP so why do they need you on UC?

Took ds2 out for dinner and saved £18 at Pizza Hut. I used my blue light card so got 25% off and then the 50%.
Bought more storage boxes in Argos to try and tidy up my cupboards a bit and store my Brexit/Covid stash safely. Over the years I must have bought and then got rid of loads of boxes once we were out the toy stage. Wish I'd kept them now...

ememem84 · 19/08/2020 19:57

Bought dh a Bluetooth speaker today as another birthday gift. £48

And £28 on a shirt for me in the Tommy Hilfiger sale. I love their sales. This is a simple pale blue button down thick cotton shirt. Regular price £76.

LonelyOversharer · 19/08/2020 20:03

Any really big change to your circumstances necessitates you changing over to universal credit. Dp checked ages ago. Spoke to a human and everything.

ememem84 · 19/08/2020 20:06

I’m watching jamie Oliver’s new show. Am salivating at his first dish. Roast chicken.

Mrsmadevans · 19/08/2020 20:32

Thank you Born & Howl Dd2 is so much better and l am so relieved l can tell you ! Smile

xMummy2princes · 19/08/2020 20:58

Hey every1 it’s me. I logged out of my last account and 4got my password that’s y I name changed a lil. I have been getting sum counselling and am feeling so much better now. The boys r doing rly well and there isn’t as much worry about shielded ppl here anymore so we can actually go out a lil more. I have been 2 a shops. I took it gradually and my family have been wiv me but I started going 2 the small corner shops and have managed 2 build up 2 a big supermarket. I hope u don’t mind having me bacj?

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/08/2020 21:05

Course not mummy, welcome back, great going on getting out

That's shit lonely about UC and pip. Sometimes a scream is needed,

Wish I could wear a shirt. Bloody boobs,

Lots of clothes trying on. Lots going back, some being kept. Got wedding outfit though

ememem84 · 19/08/2020 21:26

life I’m all boob too. But I’ve found the american brands (ie ralp lauren Tommy Hilfiger) cater for boobies. Also asos sells a range of shirts for boobs. 😉

I also tend to wear a cami or a boob tube top under so can open buttons as necessary.

The decking is finished. Man it looks amazing. And catface can now easily get in her cat flap. This does not mean she’ll use it. But she physically can now.

AdoraBell · 19/08/2020 22:45

Today -
£60 on Uni stationeries
£11 on odd bits

£83-ish on grocery deliver yesterday

DD has an informal offer from Cardiff, they will confirm once they get the centre assessed grades from UCAS.

I’m relieved but exhausted by the stress.

Tomorrow we have a wasp exterminator visiting, he sprayed nests last week but they need doing again. I don’t if we need to pay again. The nests are underground and one seems to be enormous

I’ll try to catch up with the thread tomorrow.

howlathebees · 19/08/2020 23:51

Might be a stupid question! But do reception children need pencil cases with stationary?

Unescorted · 20/08/2020 00:00

lonely that sucks. I thought that the UC system had sped up a bit, but I guess not if it is going to take 5 weeks.

There is so much financial stress about atm. DS's music teacher was crying on the phone today b/c we were in no hurry to have a refund for the lessons paid for over lockdown. I asked for 2 lessons a week instead.

Unescorted · 20/08/2020 00:03

Adora that is amazing news. DD had her grades updated with the CAG a couple of hours ago, so they are working through the system.

howlathebees · 20/08/2020 01:44

I’m going to catch up properly because I can’t sleep and I feel awful if I don’t. The weather is terrible here, it has been raining all day, heavy and then sometimes light but still all day. It calmed down a little this evening but it’s got terrible again, really really heavy and strong winds so the DC got scared and are in with us. I’m getting really used to them being in our bed I actually can’t sleep if one of them isn’t next to me!.
NSD here today, but DSF’s told his Dsis we’re expecting another boy (she has 4 boys herself, much older than ours) but she’s kept loads of their old toys and clothes and said she will give them to us as she knows it’s hard having 4DC. I’m really looking forward to going through the things and seeing if I can remember playing with any of it or my cousins wearing it. Retro clothes are back in now as well so I’ll have 4 very cool looking chaps :).
I signed up to the caravan and camping club and the National trust for our holidays. We go on Sunday early in the morning and then back the next Sunday. Then we have a week until DS1 starts his taster days at school!. His school have been absolutely brilliant (it was actually my primary school too and it hasn’t changed a bit really, some of my old teachers are there as well!.) they have a welcome pack for the new starters with everything they need to know for school plus songs and rhymes to help, they’ve also got pictures of everywhere they’ll go in the school and all the teachers and their time table so they can be prepared. And they’ve just sent a video where they show how you go in in the morning and the teacher shows a tour of how the classroom looks with everything socially distanced. I’m so happy they’re making such an effort! It’s eased my nerves a bit but I’m still so emotional about it!. I just feel like this it it now, before I know it I’ll be on here telling you all his a level results!.

Alright now what’s everyone been up to!

sing I only have prime, but I have seen the subscribe and save and it does look good if it’s something you’ll regularly get (like skincare items). It might be worth it for that but one off purchases it might end up costing more.

I’ve already said it north but good luck with the uni things I hope it all turns out well. How lovely that you had an email about how lovely your son is, he should be so proud of himself.

em fortunately my outfit choice of the day was my pyjamas, so the rain didn’t alter that!.

mrs bless you and your DH, your DD is so loved. I’m glad she’s on the mend. Let us know how she goes and if she gets her tonsils out feel free to PM me if she needs any advice on how to cope post op as I found lots of little remedies to help with the pain. I can imagine you’re relieved, I bet she gave you all a fright!

happier good luck with the house! We’re considering moving. I love our home so much but not sure if it will be big enough when DS4 comes along, trying to not think about it until he’s here though as worst case scenario he can be in the box room for a few years before we move/get an extension. Enjoy your hols!

madden your holiday sounds lovely! You’re getting me all excited for ours now!

Born I’ve had a bit of a sore throat the last few days, I always get it when the weather changes like this and it’s eased with some warm tea and I have no other symptoms but it does make you worry doesn’t it!.

tayto stay safe from the storm! Good job you got DD’s trousers, I can imagine a lot of people are in a pickle with uniform this year.

Ooh how exciting love! It was our 6th anniversary last month and I still wish I could do it all over again!.

I’m sorry you’re feeling so blue lonely, that’s a terrible system though. I don’t get how they can expect people to afford that?

Hi princes I don’t think we’ve met but that’s great about you going to a large shop!. Well done you!

That’s great news adora!

unescorted we’ve been so lucky that we kept our jobs in lockdown but it’s been so stressful for so many people that I know. It’s been a really worrying time!

Right, I’m going to try and sleep!. But the rain is very heavy and that will keep me awake, I do feel awfully cosy and autumnal though!

ememem84 · 20/08/2020 06:47

It’s my last day of work before my two weeks off!!! Wahooooo. As of 5pm today I’m not back in the office or online until 9am 7 sept. Woooooooo. Staycation here I come. Dc will still be at nursery and dh is still wfh so quiet time for me.

Plans are:

Small jobs around the house
Assignment
Read books.
Rest
Exercise.
Bake.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/08/2020 06:59

Great news Adora.

Normally no howl. But this year who knows. I would just send a pencil in. They won't need pens yet and usually cross out rather than rub out. Maybe a few colours if you have them but I wouldn't buy.

Also check about national Trust and whether you still have to book.
Great news on the hand downs.

Enjoy wind down day em

Wolfcub · 20/08/2020 07:19

Happier how annoying re the survey, you'd think they'd make some exceptions for cv-19 delays

Adora great news

Em enjoy the two weeks off.

Going to be a busy work day today and I have a tonne of neglected home stuff to try and fit in somewhere as well that can’t wait. Argh.

LonelyOversharer · 20/08/2020 07:50

Had a good sleep and have woken up feeling a bit more even. I hate feeling low, but know myself well enough now to know it passes.

Things will be fine. Its just the never endingness of it. There is no way out of this except time (or a lottery win!).

Bornlazy · 20/08/2020 08:05

Storage boxes don't really fit where I intended to use them so I've used them in other places. I've tidied the dreaded under the sink cupboard and put a lot of the duplicate products in one of said boxes and it's now out in the garage. Also did a cull on carrier bags as we seem to have millions now the online shopping is in bags again. I've given some to my mum to use as bin liners.

I'm hoping to have a lazy day today doing almost nothing. Just got a Tesco delivery to sort, a couple of washings to do, and then I'm signing off until after school.

Welcome back mummy that's great you managed to get out.

Great news *

Enjoy your time off em

SnugglySnerd · 20/08/2020 10:22

@howlathebees

Might be a stupid question! But do reception children need pencil cases with stationary?
Normally, no but this year our school has sent out an equipment list so that they are not sharing pencils etc. I should check with the school.

Good news about the offer Adora.

I am feeling very wound up and stressed today. I think it's because it is GCSE results which I always feel signifies the end of the holidays and time to get organised for work.no more lazy evenings for me when the dcs have gone to bed!

Mrsmadevans · 20/08/2020 10:37

@SnugglySnerd 💐

Mrsmadevans · 20/08/2020 10:40
