Thanks Granny, great tips and much appreciated! (And yes, do stay!). Rhossili is on my list but DM is with us and not keen on lots of steps or tricky walks (bad knee) so we were hesitant. If the weather permits we’ll try your tip to go along The beach to where the shipwreck is - my Dc would love that!
The weather isn’t looking too good for beaches but we’ll have to see how the storminess pans out. Most days have been brighter than the forecast.
We went to mumbles today and had an ice cream from Joe’s (I only saw your posts afterwards, Granny and Mrs). It was very tasty, but we’ll be going back and will definitely try the other place next time 👍🏻. I’m also very full of fish n chips, there’ll be no need for dinner tonight!
We’ve booked for Caerphilly castle on Sunday. We all do love a castle...
, just hoping it doesn’t pour down all day!
North I hope DS is feeling a little more positive (though totally understandable if he’s wallowing a bit). He’s had such a tricky time and put up with so much, and so brilliantly too, he sounds like such a lovely chap. I hope he finds a way through to something that inspires him. Is an appeal worthwhile? Especially since he’d missed so much school earlier (would that have affected his predicted grades, even though he might have made up some ground before the actual exams?) .
I know it must feel like the end of the world but there’s so much beyond this in life. A-levels are important for the next step but each stage of life brings new opportunities, for those who make the best of each chance. I was thinking the other day about my own school A-level cohort, where there’s only a fairly weak correlation between A level results / prestige of uni and eventual career ‘success’, whatever that means. Especially for the late blooming boys, who seem to have flourished over the years. We all get lucky breaks, have setbacks, come to forks in the road and make choices... it’s just so hard to have a setback at the very beginning
