Thanks all. Unfortunately I have to present a board paper this morning so I can’t take DS to school for his first day - I really wanted to and he really wants me and not Dh so I’m a bit sad about that Sad. Hey ho. The school day is an hour shorter than usual so I’ll get to pick him up soon enough!

Busy work day again, poor DD is a bit short changed at the moment.

Mrsmadevans · 03/06/2020 11:34

Love the bar howl

Wolf had he been to bed and got up or had he not gone to bed yet? Both my ds have kind of turned night in to day and I hate it but I'm letting it slide for an easy life as long as they don't wake me up.

Sea the rabbit sounds fabulous. Is your dd going to be 3? I'm sure she'll love it. Hope ds settles back into school soon.

One thing I am going to buy for the next crisis is a bread maker. I will just need to find one and then make a space for it somewhere. I have yeast, I have flour, but I cant be arsed with all the faff of making it from scratch.

Went a walk this morning as it is definitely cooler (howl between your bar and my fan we'll probably get snow soon Wink) Might do some gardening this afternoon. Question for the gardeners - a rowan tree seems to have started growing in my front garden and I'd quite like to move it round the side. Does this sound like could work?

howlatthetrees · 03/06/2020 12:17

I hope DS went in okay sea, and that’s he’s had a good day!

Thank you mrs! I hope you have a nice daySmile

born thank you, I was saying to DH that we won’t be able to use it until next year. It’s rain for the foreseeable future hereHmm Enjoy your gardening!

Today should be an expensive day, we are ordering our shopping!. I’m also going to buy some clothes for the DC as they’ve got very few summer clothes that fit as they’ve all shot up (I blame my 6’2 DH)

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/06/2020 12:19

I don't ride Mrs. It's DD. I just pay for the pleasure.

I also love the sound of the rabbit.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 03/06/2020 14:29

Hi Howl, I love the Tiki bar! It would double up for a puppet show too.

howlatthetrees · 03/06/2020 14:48

£110 spent on shopping. Decided not to order the clothes for the kids and wait until they can try it on

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 03/06/2020 16:56

Hi all,

Sea that rabbit sounds amazing! Hope ds got on okay at school.

It's my day off today and it's been a bit spendy 😬

£15 money to my nephew for his bday.
£22 Amazon on an arm iPhone holder for dd for when she runs and a gift for a friend.
£30 petrol - can't believe how cheap petrol is now!!
£30 pets at home on bday gifts for the dog 😶 he turns 1 next week and is to all intents and purposes my 2nd child 🤣
Am going down to Aldi after tea and expect to spend around £50.

Scarily easy to spend £150!!

We went on a nice walk this morning, it's cooled off a lot and the dog especially seems much happier. Spent the afternoon watching Stranger Things, it's the 3rd time I've watched it and the 2nd time dd has 😬

I've signed dd up for one day in school next week to see how she gets on, if she likes it I'll sign her up for more days.

Mrsmadevans · 03/06/2020 17:23

Life l had 2 Dds I had to pay for the pleasure of them riding too Grin
Mine went off it about 14/15 , all of sudden one day they just didn't want to go . It was a hell of a shock l can tell you Grin

Mrsmadevans · 03/06/2020 17:24

Girlie l had a shock when l filled up too so cheap!

ChristmasSeacow · 03/06/2020 17:48

The tiki bar is excellent. Like being on holiday all the time!

School was a mixed bag. DS wasn’t allowed to take a book bag and was unexpectedly really thrown by that - I think there were a couple of books in there that he stims with (his stimming is mostly visual - looking at certain books and pictures, and especially from funny angles). There was a big meltdown about it before school, and also queuing to go in (he doesn’t do queuing). During the day I’m told he was fine and seemed happy and did his work nicely - he had his usual teaching assistant and he loves her. End of the day - book bag trauma again. He had a huge meltdown and staged several sit-ins on the way home asking for it and crying /screeching. I had to have 10 mins to myself once we got home - it took 1hr 15 to do a 20-25 min walk home and I was totally wrung out by the experience. But still, teething problems aside it will defo be good for him.

Is it too early for gin? I have to clean and tidy my disgraceful house before the kids go to bed (can’t hoover after that, can’t hoover till I’ve tidied). There just isn’t a home for all the junk, it is driving me batty!

ememem84 · 03/06/2020 18:14

It is not too early for gin.

Wolfcub · 03/06/2020 18:16

Sea sorry drop of and pick up were so tough. Poor ds it must be incredibly confusing. Can you take the book bag with you when you pick him up so the walk home is calmer?

Born I'm pretty sure he just stayed up. He's been a complete disaster today he's done absolutely nothing and has kept trying to start a fight about it. I'm just not engaging though as I've had enough, yesterday's screaming and swearing was enough for a week.

If he misbehaves tomorrow I'm going out without him I'm not having him spoil my day

ememem84 · 03/06/2020 18:19

£109 😱 at coop. Mostly veggies and fruit this time. We sat and meal planned and made a list. I stuck to the list.

Have had a shit day work wise. Assistant is just not assisting to the speed or standard I’d like which means I’m having to put aside deadlines I’d initially set. Which is frustrating as.

Had a chat with him and the boss today. Told dh who thinks assistant will leave shortly.

Logging back on tonight to get some more stuff done. Sigh.

Need to start tidying up and getting the house in order as it’s doing my head in. There is stuff everywhere. Next week when the kids are back at nursery we should hopefully be back to a tidier place.

Unescorted · 03/06/2020 18:20

sea in the circumstances it is Gin O'clock.

Waves to new people

Sorry I have had a bit of a skim read and mostly forgotten who has done what -
em hope your dh's back is better & you are getting more time for you.

wolf - have a hug...

I am in the build the stash back up camp ….we avoided the madness of panic buying by eating the Brexit stash.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 03/06/2020 19:46

Def not too early for gin, that sounds like a really tough walk home bless you.

I got back from Aldi and dd was in tears as her boyfriend has broken up with her, to be honest I was surprised it lasted this long as they haven't seen each other since March.

Spent £65 in Aldi 🙄 did stock up on a few bits like loo roll, pasta and a few tins.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/06/2020 20:04

Aldi had flour!! Only popped in for wraps and strawberries.

Defo gin o clock. Yy to taking the book bag to walk home with.

Do it wolf. Go without him. Hopefully sleep tonight.

Got through some work today so feeling a bit better. Poor DS is neglected and no walk today so is climbing the walls. I can't do it all and have finally accepted that. My house is also a tip

Wolfcub · 03/06/2020 20:20

I'm also in the house is a tip crew. Work is mad. Ds is mad. I need to spend my spare time interview prepping. Something has to give.

Friend who I haven't seen for weeks apart from to wave through the window at just stopped by for a socially distanced gift delivery. So so good to see them

howlatthetrees · 03/06/2020 21:26

That’s a great idea duchess DS1 will love that!

Thank you sea, definitely not too early for gin.

ChristmasSeacow · 03/06/2020 22:10

I think my house might redefine ‘tip’. I was absolutely seething tonight - I picked up all the items that were on the floor of my kitchen diner that shouldn’t be (toys, shells, bits of paper - not even counting random shoes, as they do belong on the floor. Or dropped bits of food) and there were 56. I picked up 56 items. Ffs. I had wanted to hoover and mop but it took me so long just to half tidy the place that I ran out of time. I am just so sick of living in a tip. I don’t even know where to start.... DH occasionally tidied up some toys and washes up a bit but he NEVER CLEANS ANYTHING. Ever. He actually doesn’t to now how to. He is a complete pig. He lived in grot before we got together so I shouldn’t be surprised...

Then DS genuinely doesn’t see mess and part of the visual stimming is spreading things out to look at them (eg a whole set of Mr men books perpetually spread out on the dining table. Been there for c 3 years now. I’m allowed to stack them up when we have visitors but otherwise - spread everywhere). And he gets upset when we move things. I have a set of Gravitrax (posh marble run thingy) set up on my coffee table and it’s been there since September. I literally can’t put it away now or there will be absolute ructions. So I can’t be surprised that DD doesn’t get it AT ALL. She just gets endless tiny toys out and spreads them over the whole house. Between the three of them I am totally drowning. In my spare moments I clean but I just can’t keep up. In normal times the kids are out more and we have a cleaner, but I’m still always chipping away at it... with both of us still working but with less time and more mess it just doesn’t even nearly add up.

Honestly, i despair. Sorry for the rant. I feel better for getting it out of my system.

On the plus side, I sold 2 Grobags today for £20. And NSD.

northender · 03/06/2020 23:11

Oh Sea I really feel for you. It sounds like dh needs to learn about cleaning! Does he know how stressed it makes you? Sending hugs your way X

ChristmasSeacow · 03/06/2020 23:32

He does, but it just doesn’t bother him enough to even notice mess. He is seriously a slob. Before kids, and with a cleaner, this was manageable. But after being cooped up all this time I am seriously sick of living with 3 messy people and being the only one that gives a shit. It’s incredibly stressful.

And to top it all off I can’t download sewing bee onto my iPad - gah! It wouldn’t work last week either, I had to hover near the WiFi router to watch it.

Into the office on the tube tomorrow, yuk.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 03/06/2020 23:33

Spendy day today. £85 in Tesco (plus £20 for the MIL who now owes me £40 for grocery shopping), and £13 in starbucks for a treat for the dds and me.

Then a t shirt from amazon.

Not going to spend anything tomorrow as I'm going into my classroom for the first time in ages to start preparing it for when school is back in 3 weeks time.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/06/2020 07:20

That's very stressful sea. Enjoy the break in t the office. Hope the tube is ok.

Nsd planned today. No sign of us going into the office

ememem84 · 04/06/2020 07:30

Oh sea that sounds so stressful. No advice really other than giving dh a kick in the balks to get him to sort it out.

My dining table has become a bit of a tip again so am going to start today by putting things back in their correct rooms. Then when I have 5 mins I’ll tidy up.

Been up since 5. Been out for a walk/run (3.5km). Now having toast apple and grapes with ds whilst watching hey duggee on CBeebies.

Washing has just finished so need to get that dry at some point. Also need to call the garage to get a new tyre on the car.
