Sorry to hear em that DH is not helping much. Whoever suggested food shopping with some “me” time first was onto a winner. As a parent, he has to expect to look after the children even when still ill malingering to make it last longer

Welcome dr

Spent £80ish on Ocado delivery which came today.

I’ve been buying DPs birthday presents whilst we’re home for deliveries. I’m hoping delivery drivers stop just leaving things on the doorstep soon and leaving before knowing if we are home!

I miss the 2 lots of cheese for £3 in Tesco. We get through loads of it! So costing us more.

We need to plan next week our next phase of normal after half term. I’ve had to change my day off. But on the plus side we get to take the DC to school between us as there is no before/after school care. The DC will appreciate a later start to their day. We won’t want to go back to “normal” normal after this.

Sorry to hear you are struggling meadow and I hope you have a lovely day today Flowers

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 24/05/2020 19:51

Eid Mubarak Meadow.

Hi Dr.

I'm sorry that a lot of you are feeling low, it is a really tough situation but I'm really glad that we can all talk and vent on here.
WineBrewCakeFlowersGin for all of us!

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/05/2020 20:28

Forgot to say Eid mubarak meadow

Unescorted · 24/05/2020 20:43

Hi Dr - the more the merrier. I don't envy you being a teacher atm.

Eid Mubarak Meadow

Lane I am making one of those posters.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/05/2020 07:42

I'm going to make a pic nic today with scones. Just paid £10 for the pleasure of parking at a deer park local castle.

ememem84 · 25/05/2020 08:06

My run didn’t happen.

Dd was awake three times last night. Then ds woke up at 430. Dh brought him into our room. And he stayed awake.

Because ds and Dd we’re both awake at 6 (when my alarm went off) I brought them downstairs and had breakfast with them. Dh is still sleeping. He didn’t come to bed until 1. And then was up with dd once and ds. I’m letting him sleep in. But won’t be happy if he has a nap later on.

Need to go to boots later for nappies for Dd. I think they open at 10. So will take a walk there.

Also need to meal plan and shopping list. Then Dh can go tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/05/2020 09:40

Oo rough night em. Hope you get a nap today

MeadowHay · 25/05/2020 10:42

Thanks lovely people Smile feeling much more positive now and had a nice enough Eid in the end Smile. Looks like it will be nice weather today so we will do a trip to the park. Debating whether to picnic or not. DDs napping is still fairly unpredictable and her eating is even worse so not sure whether to bother with picnic or to go late afternoon instead hah. This morning she's eaten one wheetabix over two different sittings, 2/3rds of a banana, a small piece of Belvita and now eating a box of raisins. But watch will not want lunch later Angry. Toddlers sigh!

Today will not be an NSD as we need milk, and we may buy ice cream while we are out Grin.

Love - our delivery drivers have all been great, they keep a watch from a distance to make sure you're in and get it. I missed one a while ago and they took it back and redelivered the next day, can't remember if it was Hermes or DPD.

Life - wow that sounds quite steep for parking, but I guess all parking is so expensive these days isn't it! Angry

Mrsmadevans · 25/05/2020 11:10

Morning everyone 😄
it's a beautiful day here the sun is shining and the skies are blue. I feel like heading straight to Tenby today 😄
Been to Morrisons to stock up on DD 1 vegan grub. 🙄 40 spend well worth it .
Very civilized there I couldn't believe there were no queues we went about 9:30 and I think the Joe public didn't realise they were open before 10 being as it's a bank holiday. Going to Bob's now 🤪
Have a lovely day everyone 😀

ChristmasSeacow · 25/05/2020 11:42

Morning all,

Slow morning here, I’ve been up since 7 but I’m not even dressed yet! We are trying to potty train DD. She’s nearly 3 so we have to crack on but she’s really nervous and resisting hard. We’ve been doing potty stories for ages to prepare her so I can’t see anything will change so we’re pushing on. With bribery. It’s a bit rocky today already - DS can't tolerate the sound of DD crying so it’s hard going...

Sausage roast and Mediterranean roast veg for dinner. Fortune spent on Ocado 🙄

Lovemaltesers · 25/05/2020 12:11

Even in “normal” times meadow our Hermes courier always leaves parcels on the doorstep when no one is home 😫. If we’re lucky they might attempt to put it under the doormat

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/05/2020 13:49

It was expensive for parking but we had a lovely 3 hours and the park with a pic nic and l hardly anyone else there. All the free places are rammed. Couldn't be done with the stress. Will worth the extortion price imo.

LaneBoy · 25/05/2020 13:58

Glad you feel better meadow

NSD for me, DH will be going to the shop later for some essentials. I’ve emailed my therapist to see if we can bring my session forward

Went to the beach this morning. Just got back. Ds down for a nap. Dh was very chill on the beach.

I packed up the picnic. I sorted out the stuff we were taking etc. He didn’t do much if I’m honest but it’s easier that way. I know where everything is and what’s in the bag.

Beach lasted 3 hours. Which was good innings. the majority of the time was me spent frigging about with the blasted pop up tent
Especially with pop up tent. Anyone got one and which brand?

Spends £24 M&S on picnic food
£63 boots nappies and pouch food for Dd.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/05/2020 15:50

I've got the mountain warehouse sun tent. It's fine. Will see if they still do it

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/05/2020 15:51

The £15 one

Happierwithouthim · 25/05/2020 16:22

Unescorted have you still got extra child in your house? Or was that north?

Em I love the picnic table and Angry to your dh, I missed when he was sick but is he better now?

I spent over €200 second last time I was at Aldi Grin

Meadow sorry to hear you're struggling, ds is nearly 7 and still won't say please, it's so tormenting.

I used last of my wax strips today for another bikini wax so that's 3 for them, one underarm and a half leg wax for €16!

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 25/05/2020 17:04

Absolutely beautiful day here 🌞 really hot!! I met a friend this morning for a socially distanced walk which was lovely, we got take away coffees as well 😊 my friend paid.

Spent some time at mums this afternoon, was also lovely.

Popped into the vets to get the vets tablets £11, I asked about the animals booster injections as both the cat and dog will be due next month. They said they're allowing a 3 month window but will try and get the dog done sooner if possible as he's still young.

Em I thought the rules were more relaxed where you are? Is your mum still not meant to see the kids? Fwiw no one I know in rl is strictly keeping to the rules anymore.....

Ystd I spent £22 on a chillys water bottle for my sil bday, she had asked for one and they were on offer on Amazon. I also spent £52 on a garden parasol and a new washing line for the garden in Argos. I can collect from Sainsbury's which is actually closer than Argos so works out well!!

Worked out am spending around £60 a week on food which isn't too bad really, pre lockdown it was probably around £50.

Happierwithouthim · 25/05/2020 17:52

That's not so bad girlie especially with other activities not happening so their cost is gone.

ememem84 · 25/05/2020 18:44

girlie yes mum and dad can see the kids. But can’t come in the house (although who would know). So when they came yesterday they stayed in the garden.

happier dh is for the most part better. Still gets tired easily though but I think post viral fatigue. I’m sure he had corona. But he did test negative.

I’m hoping we’re one of the 1000 households who will get antibody tests. So we can see whether he did have it.

Re his tiredness. I wasn’t aware he was coming to bed until stupid o clock. That’d also explain it.

Happierwithouthim · 25/05/2020 19:09

Ok em I did wonder. Seems it usually takes you blowing a gasket to inspire him to buck up

ememem84 · 25/05/2020 20:03

Yep. It’s sad.

I’ve told him that tomorrow I need to focus. I need to work. And I need quiet. So i am to be left alone.

ememem84 · 25/05/2020 20:05

Also - I tried the “temptation challenge” with ds. Chocolate in a bowl, told him he can’t have it until I get back. Videoed him.

He lasted until I got back. I was impressed.

Unescorted · 25/05/2020 20:18

Happier we do.
I have been weeding the front garden today. I ordered 30 perennials a few weeks back & they said they should be here by the end of June so I am having to crack on. I need compost so badly. Although I have found a way of getting rid of my clay even though the tips are closed except for "waste that is dangerous to keep at home".... the kids of the village are using it to build some more bike ramps. I will mine some more out for them over the next week or so. Now to find someone who has old roof slates.
