Last paperwork needed for sale of our house is through, we'll be signing the contracts next week - then for the battle with ex h over the proceeds Angry

I also have those cc's that I'm afraid to close tbh - when I clear the 0% the limit that's left is €4800 and the card I'm planning to keep is €1000, I've another at €1600 and will close that with my bank when closing the joint account.
I'm leaning towards €1k is enough for any emergency and leaving it at that

Happierwithouthim · 17/01/2020 16:20

Provisional booking on a 3 night break on an island with very few cars in a luxury yurt (stove & gas cooker) with dc for June in the sale €250 including trip around the island, visit to an open farm & visit to a goat farm with an icecream included Grin

GuyFawkesDay · 17/01/2020 16:37

£85 Waitrose today (£14 off shop over £90 voucher)
£5 café
£25 petrol
£15 garden centre but got 6 perennials as 3 were reduced to £1 so bargains.

I too have about £1800 credit card but it's on 0% for a bit yet and paying £150 a month off. It'll go. I cut the card up.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/01/2020 18:06

Great news happier.
Defo worth keeping one cc for emergency. I need to swap to a nectar one as I shop in Sainsbury's.

Cash spent today. Some claimable some not.

Wolfcub · 17/01/2020 18:54

Good news Happier
Life i hope the train home is reasonable

@unescorted I have another for your Waitrose donator crew: tin ratatouille, pack shelf stable gnocchi, half small jar passata/half tin toms, pack shelf stable olives, cheese. Can add onion, garlic and spinach. Very filling. Cook everything except gnocchi and cheese in a pan until just bubbling. Sling in gnocchi, put in baking dish after a minute. Cover with cheese. Grill until cheese is brown/bubbly

Ugh! It's been a long day. Nsd though. I've had more nsds than not so far in January.

£39.98 DH birthday present

Thanks lovelies. Yep em I do have CFS, it is a different thing that is being a dick at the moment (postural tachycardia syndrome) so I’m somewhat sofa bound! Restful weekend planned and hoping I’m ok for school meeting on Monday.

I’m keeping myself entertained by finding ideas for a “tuff tray” (a big cement mixing tray for sensory stuff etc) and planning a massive home ed project for DS (making a big “busy board” for Cagletini with locks, switches etc and a load of paperwork alongside) although what I should really be doing is finding next week’s maths 😂

I have had lots of little frugal wins lately. I am doing so so much less of the impulse buying of food - a couple of times this week I’ve waited for friends in the seating area at the leisure centre without buying anything at the cafe - seriously unheard of for me 😳

ememem84 · 17/01/2020 21:49

Ddad had his pre admission apt for his knee op today. Torn miniscus I think. This has been bothering him for as long as I’ve been on mat leave. He’s now said that having the op and having to do the recovery (whatever that may be) is pathetic and won’t help. I suspect he thinks it’ll be a magic cure all solution. And won’t do the physio.

In other news, the wheelie bin lid fell on my finger this morning. Scraped some skin off and I swear I’ve bruised the bone. It’s sore. I’ve put “magic cream” on it (any hand cream is magic cream to ds)

£9.45 on top up shop as needed some things before I go to work tomorrow. I have conveniently booked a Tesco delivery for tomorrow when I wont be there so dh can deal with it Wink - £94.94. I have grown to hate food shopping.

I know that you had to chase up some missing cashback from Amazon em but does anyone else have the same problem? I have to fill in a claim form every single time unless I order using my laptop. It's so time consuming and sometimes if its only a small amount hardly worth it.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/01/2020 22:05

LSD, £3.00 on dd2s friday treat.

Happier and Wolf glad things are moving forward for you both, you so deserve it!

life, I know I was surprised at how much I had and could make into meals! Glad the train was ok.

lane Flowers

em ouch!

BuddhaAtSea · 17/01/2020 22:41

£21 in homesense on a dog bed and a book.
And £16 in John Lewis on a reed diffuser.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/01/2020 23:35

Er, just shy of £100 on yarn Blush. I am having a bit of a pash for Malabrigo rasta, a beautiful super chunky yarn that makes lovely cowls and hats, and it’s on offer at the mo from Woolwarehouse so I pounced. I have a list of friends to make things for and I’m working my way through it plus a couple of different colours for me . It’s very satisfying, I can make a cowl or hat in an evening, when I get the chance to knit. Handier to wear in the house than a scarf too as nothing dangling near the gas hob or in the washing up.

Like this one.

Other than that, bread 6.10 and Ocado £97.50. That’s meals planned for the week but I’ll need a fruit and salad top up.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/01/2020 23:36

Like some of you, I need to do a proper cupboard and freezer stock check. I could hardly get the shopping into the fridge and freezer. Gawd knows why.

Happierwithouthim · 18/01/2020 07:40

€39 on waxing & eyebrow tint. Plus bonus my beautican is having a boy so will take all baby boy clothes & high chair from me! Delighted to be passing it on to someone who'll appreciate it!

Lane follow lifewithtinyhumans on Instagram she's got loads of tuff tray ideas, kinda sad I discovered it when my dc were too big for that kind of play Sad

My sisters Christmas present was returned to sender so they've refunded me the full cost €74.90 & are giving me the item anyhow, I didn't want to take full refund but they appreciated my patience

Amazon dress was very late I got refund of shipping charge although they offered full refund

Thanks curvy

Seacow ha ha Grin

ememem84 · 18/01/2020 09:01

born it was a right faff chasing up the cashback. Had to get item code etc.

£32 riding today. Then we’re having a family photo shoot. Rescheduled from ages ago because of weather. It’s looking lovely today. Bright. And cold.

Wolfcub · 18/01/2020 09:12

Sounds fab Em

Dropping ds off with h shortly. Will go for a walk just trying to decide where.

Old friends visiting later

Might need to buy some cordial for hot juice as my throat is feeling a little raw

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 18/01/2020 09:30

That looks lovely sea do you knit in the evenings? I feel like I must waste time somewhere (prob fb/mn 🙄) as by the time I've finished work, cooked tea, cleared up etc I'm good for nothing!

Ouch em!

I'm still in bed, was a cold night by the looks of the frost outside. Plan today is to take dd for a facial and then she wants to go to the gym. I need to fit in a dog walk and do some clearing up, might start tidying the garden which is looking really messy.

ChristmasSeacow · 18/01/2020 09:30

Just saw this on bbc website. I must say I was surprised, I always find it expensive but it probably depends on the typical stuff you buy!

Sainsbury's named cheapest supermarket of 2019 by Which? www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-51153285

ememem84 · 18/01/2020 09:45

I was watching something earlier on bbc via Facebook about a woman who is a tradwife. Or traditional housewife. Interesting.
