Spendy day here Blush
£1.90 Sainsbury’s
£30ish in Asda
£21 Boots on 4 party gifts in the sale
£28 M&S but they put through one item twice. So awaiting £6.40 back as a voucher as sorted through online chat
£11 Dorothy Perkins
£24.50 Monsoon
£8 H&M
£11.50 WHSmiths on 6 books
Used free drink code and gv in Caffè Nero
Oooops

Got three tops, a jumper, two pairs of trousers and a work dress for that. I went shopping to use my gift voucher for Next from Christmas, but by the time I got to Next I decided I’d bought enough.

I bought iced ring doughnuts for me for the DC 🍩

Wolfcub · 16/01/2020 20:41

God I love a custard doughnut

maddenlightfoot · 16/01/2020 20:49

Custard 😱 (and don't get me started on chocolate). Jam or iced all the way!

Tonight I've become a born-again Aldi convert! It's the first time I've done a proper big shop in a physical supermarket in over a year (as I had Tesco delivery saver). I went tonight with a very long list, but also put so many extras in (over-excited by having an actual trolley!). My big trolley was full and I started to have palpitations at the till about how much it would cost.... grand total of £45 🤯

ememem84 · 16/01/2020 21:02

The bakery here (my fave bakery) do the best custard donuts. Oh they’re so so good.

But. The best ones I’ve ever had were in st malo in France. So delicious.

I could go a donut now actually this is why I’m struggling with clothes fitting
Catface is on bed with me. Having a snuggle

I’ve spent the last hour spoiling her. We’ve done brushing and treats. And patting and purring and playing with toys. I forget sometimes she needs super attention too.

Spendy day here, have just spent £150 on Amazon, have bought dds main present (metal detector) and two pairs of wellies. Will give dd her wellies for her bday (they're nice ones with a dog design.) The other pair are for me, the last pair I bought are about 20 years old and have finally given up the ghost.

£30 on 5 pilates classes, went to the first one tonight, felt good to be doing it again but blimey I have lost all the flexibility I built up last year when I was doing it regularly.

£3.50 to dd for the gym and £5 in Tesco's on bit and pieces.

Bit scared to look at my account....

I want a donut now as well Grin

BuddhaAtSea · 16/01/2020 21:28

Ah, I am doing Red January, on the 31st I am so getting a doughnut as a reward!!!!
NSD here. I made a huge chilli con ...quorn, it’s amazing, even if I say so myself.

Fearofawelshplanet · 16/01/2020 21:40

Chip shop friend over 13.80
New school PE kit for twins 65.88
Necessary spends, im averaging 16,000 steps now im back at work so will just aim for some gentle yoga at weekends... great thread, really motivates me, thanks guys....

SnugglySnerd · 16/01/2020 21:43

What is Red January?

Personally I think only jam is acceptable in a donut. Definitely not custard but then I don't like cold custard anyway.

Beautiful cat Em. Cat snuggles are the best! Apart from my kids obviously Grin

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 16/01/2020 21:46

The other thread about food inspired me to go through all the food, and if I use everything up in the freezer and the fridge, and some of the supplies in the cupboard I should get two weeks worth of dinners.
I need to run down the chest freezer anyway as it needs defrosting.
So that should keep my food shop budget low for a couple of weeks.
I got into the habit of not really looking what I had and I would rather use it up then throw it away, there are a few things that have quite a short shelf life.

Spends today
Co-op £15 something on fresh fruit, veg, rolls and wraps.

Wolfcub · 16/01/2020 21:46

Ah catface is cute

£3 ds club. £8.80 dinner for both of us from Greggs due to only having ten mins to get ds from one event to another

Pilates already paid for.

Girlie I really notice the difference even after just a couple of weeks away from it.

BuddhaAtSea · 16/01/2020 21:48

@SnugglySnerd It’s a month long challenge to exercise every day for at least 30 min. Stands for Running Every Day and it’s in aid of Mind, the mental health charity:)

northender · 16/01/2020 21:53

Spending here has been mainly ds related. ucas fee, driving theory test fee and flights to Dublin & back for June. He's got Killers tickets for after his exams so we are treating him. He's also going on holiday with his mates but paying for that himself.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 16/01/2020 22:35

Cat face is a very fine cat. Our puss is all black with yellow green eyes.

LSD today around £18 at Tesco on way home from work. Potatoes, veg, pasta salad for DP’s lunch, rolls, butter and cheese for mine. And gaviscon for DP. Pack ups done for tomorow.

LaneBoy · 16/01/2020 23:48

2.20 coop
0.70 breakfast
2.40 boots
6.40 cab home. Have been in relapse mode this week, worst in a few years. Thought I was better this morning but I was wrong so DH came to meet me at playgroup as I wasn’t safe to get home alone with Cagletini (dizzy etc)

In better news DS got a distinction on his first tap dance exam :)

ChristmasSeacow · 16/01/2020 23:56

Sorry to hear that Lane

ChristmasSeacow · 17/01/2020 00:02

I mean the dizzy bit, not the distinction - well done DS!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/01/2020 05:43

Cute cat face. Has she grown again. Maybe just the angle.
Well done lane DS. Sorry to hear your are in relapse lane. Self care. I know it's not as simple as that though. (((Highs)))) too.

Up for the early ish train to London. On a bloody Friday too. Greggs breakfast on way to station.

In the same curvy. Working through the meals we have in list which is near enough a side of A5. May need fresh stuff but that's it. It's quite shameful really

ememem84 · 17/01/2020 06:50

life I think she has. She’d be about 4 now I think. So apparently that’s when they hit fully grown size.

lane great news about ds’ exam! Good work ds!!
Not so great re your not feeling good. You have CFS don’t you? Or is that someone else?

Swimming with ds today.

None of my babies woke up last night. Wahooooo!!!

SnugglySnerd · 17/01/2020 07:50

Ah thanks Buddha, I should do that. I don't get enough exercise.

Hope you are ok Lane. Take care.

Mrsmadevans · 17/01/2020 08:41

Have a great day everyone 😀

Wolfcub · 17/01/2020 08:48

£114 to clear a credit card. Just decided to get rid. That leaves me with one cc left (on 0%) which I can clear in 5.7 months Grin

ememem84 · 17/01/2020 09:43

Ffs. Dd just did a sicky over the jumperoo. Why. Why did she choose there?!?! why did I put her in there after her bottle knowing she has a cold and can’t clear her nose so is liable to sick

My cc balance is £1800. I can’t clear it without wiping out most of my savings. So am going to wait until I get paid to start sorting this. Not the most frugal way to do it I know. But I’m not using it so....

Happierwithouthim · 17/01/2020 10:01

Good work wolf it will be a relief to be clear of cc debt by summer for you.

Once house sells my credit union loan & cc will be clear, I will be debt free only until I get mortgage. I'm going to let the standing order to credit union stand and it will go into savings to help towards stuff for the house I buy. 12 weeks would give me an extra €840 to add to the €2k already in there.

Credit Union Loan that is joint for wall outside our current house will be finished in seven weeks, this will take the pressure off there, giving €160 extra money per month.

Wolfcub · 17/01/2020 10:17

I'm on a roll.

Solicitors appt made for next week. That'll be £100. Rang up and closed another CC that I just don't use but had kept because it was potentially £11k of credit to access in an emergency.

£20 dress in the seasalt sale including postage

Need to log in and work for a bit shortly but so far :

All ironing done and mine put away.
Two loads of washing, one hung up one just finishing
Downstairs dusted and vacuumed
Kitchen cleaned and floor mopped
Bathroom cleaned and floor cleaned

May be going out for coffee with a friend later

Happier you are right it's good to have the weight of debt off your back. I will still have the loan covering joint/h related debts that I was left with but I'm not too worried about that alongside the mortgage at the moment.
