Nsd, but withdrew £50 to give DP for diesel. Using public transport to get home from work is both time consuming and expensive, it’s working out better if he collects me. More pleasant and better for stress levels too. I have a bit of a wait but can spend it comfortably in staff areas at work. Hot drinks free including nice lattes.
Dinner was corned beef and potato pie with leeks. I was a bit meh but DP tucked in enthusiastically. Just as well, lots left over for another day. Apple crumble did not get made. That’s a job for the morning.

Bornlazy · 15/01/2020 23:46

Lost the plot today and spent £22 in Krispy Kreme 🙈
£18 in Poundland
£16 in M&S
£20 in Argos on CD player/radio for MIL to brighten up her hospital days. This has turned out to be a fantastic purchase and almost makes up for the doughnuts...

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2020 06:20

Prefer the German one but that glass makes it look a bugger to get an ambient temperature. The other is too chintz for my taste. puts imaginary £12m away

Nsd yesterday as chained to the office, another planned today. Tomorrow will be claimable as going to London.

Actually £10 riding but that's in the budget.

Did it go ok lane? Great luck getting a slot

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2020 06:21

Snackcidents happen sea. How many donuts did you get for £18? Did you share?

Accidentalaccountant · 16/01/2020 06:36

That's the one Em. Why they advertised it in our free local paper? I honestly did a double take. Yesterday dog walker as in office. Not now in until 27th. Am doing a few days before that but at home so she can be with me shelf

I am trying minimum food spend in January as have 2 full freezers, though the dog has one shelf. So trying to base main meals around what I already have

ememem84 · 16/01/2020 06:54

accountant where abouts are you (roughly) if in and around London or somewhere which has air links to jersey (liverpool, exeter, manchester, Edinburgh) then tend to advertise.

Silly money though. And it annoys me that a lot of the places on fine and country can just be bought by non residents. So no need for housing qualifications. To be entitled to buy here you have to either be born here or have lived here for 11 years. It used to be 25.

Hopefully nsd today.

Not me with the doughnuts Life, though I can see why you’d think that! Grin

Had so much work to do I was up till 2.30am again. I really hope DD is good today (day off with her) as I am really not feeling great. Sigh.

maddenlightfoot · 16/01/2020 07:08

I'd love to visit Jersey again, haven't been since I was a teenager. Remember eating the most amazing buillobaise (sp?) 😋

Dry January is going well... £10 in the pub with work peeps last night (whoops!)

Could be a spendy weekend ahead - have just spent £35 on tickets to our favourite swim place - we're taking a friend for dd and now we have to pay entry for our little ones as they're 3+ we really notice it! and we're planning an ikea trip, which will involve meatballs.

ememem84 · 16/01/2020 07:28

madden you should visit. It is lovely here. Lots of beautiful coastline (very much like devon and Cornwall), loads of walks beaches and super restaurants.

Dd woke up at 11 last night. Crying and coughing poor baby. Gave her calpol and a massive snuggle. She’s been asleep since.

Today will be a day of cuddles naps and calpol where necessary.

Woohoo. I’ve had cashback confirmed from Quidco for amazon purchases. I did claim forms (have about 18 purchases that haven’t tracked but I did 3 to start with) which were a right pain but...confirmed cashback of....£8 ish.

Wow they're not houses they're country resorts Shock makes my house shopping like buying a sweet Grin

Grocery Shop came to €148.60 - discount vouchers €20 and there was €10 on dd's school tshirts, €3 on some tubs for batch cooking, €9 on laundry capsules which have fabric conditioner in, something I never buy. Net spend on food €104.60 I'm happy with that, although bf rang when I was almost finished so I spent rather more on freezer items than I would have if I wasn't distracted but all stuff that will be used. Veggie stuff which au pair will be happy with too.

Really looking forward to lunch today, threw 2 chicken fillets on to a pan to brown last night, then added half a jar of sacla cherry tomato pasta sauce and poached them in it and stirred in spinach leaves when I took it out of the oven to wilt, it smells lush. Having it with a bag of steamfresh veg, and other half of micro pilau rice from last night. One portion for lunch, one for freezer, have two more portions of turkey chilli to freeze today too. Even though I'm trying to run down the freezer I'm also trying to prepare for packing to move and having good dinners ready so I don't resort to takeaways and crap food.

SnugglySnerd · 16/01/2020 09:34

I would love to go to Jersey. Never been.

Hoping for another NSD.

Mrsmadevans · 16/01/2020 09:37

Mad dash into Aldi before going to Mum's she has ppl for lunch so all l bought for us was Milk, tissue paper fo wrapping presents 9p!!! Hope everyone has a good NSD 😁👍 l have my behind in my hand this morning will catch up later 😄🤗🤞

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2020 09:54

Sorry sea.
Same question born

ChristmasSeacow · 16/01/2020 10:40

Ha ha. If I had doughnuts now I’d be really happy!

Argh, I knew DD would choose today to be uncooperative. Refused to get dressed (I had to manhandle her!), refused to brush teeth - I gave up but told her she can only have snacks and treats if her teeth are clean, so hope that forces the issue soon. Also refused to go to the shop - we need bread but hey ho, I can’t be bothered to fight her today.

It’s so stressful because apart from it being pretty annoying and stressful in its own right (she nearly made us late for school) if she doesn’t follow instructions DS gets really agitated and starts screeching. What a morning 🙄

ememem84 · 16/01/2020 10:56

Been for a walk with dd. 5500 steps done today.

Making flapjack now. Yay. Then going to do some chores.

24 doughnuts Blush Obviously didn’t need 24 (does anyone?) but I was shocked by the price of a single one and then if you buy 12 you get the next 12 much cheaper.... I have given some away and the kids love them and love the idea that I’ve just randomly bought so many, but it won’t be a regular occurrence that’s for sure.

ememem84 · 16/01/2020 12:13

I’d love 24 donuts. The only time I’ve bought that many is when it’s birthday time and I take them to work.

Watching obsessive complusive cleaners.

Accidentalaccountant · 16/01/2020 13:07

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2020 16:31

24 donuts for £18 sounds like a bargain to me.

My nsd became £25 superdrug on supplies for DD and i

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2020 19:42

DD has tried the short version of cheeky wipes. Are any of the others short style that you would recommend? Cheeky wipes are £10 a pair
