14 years omg, how did that happen? I remember you buying her sylvanian families Grin

Time poor I guess is why it happens, I know on Sunday I had nothing really on, and could've made a great breakthrough in the house/decluttering etc but I stayed in bed reading and did some of my volunteer work, walked the dog and before I knew it the dc were home!

60c on a single orange are my spends so far today, grocery shopping later though.

Call from orthodontist, dd needs a baby tooth extracted & then a space maintainer put in, extraction is at own dentist approx €80 I guess and €900 then for space maintainer.

maddenlightfoot · 15/01/2020 13:58

I just read a tip in the Tesco magazine about swapping fizzy pop for a fizzy berrocca - not sure how it would compare cost-wise but does give a vitamin hit.

Small spends today - £2.78 in some raspberries and small packs of chocolate animal biscuits. My dts stay for packed lunch at nursery tomorrow so working out what to send them with (not sure how strict they are). Also treated myself to a nice coffee (£2.15) after settling in. My babies are growing up 😭

ChristmasSeacow · 15/01/2020 14:02

Fabulous achievement UnescortedDD! She’ll have a wonderful time. I think I might recall which college she applied to - is that where she’s ended up? Oxford is an incredibly special place, and lots of normal people, not just Bullingdon types Wink. My most treasured lifeline friends are from that time in my life oh, and DH

Extra unplanned shop in Tesco last night -£50. Friend was admitted to hospital yesterday after slipping a disc while on the tube - she can’t walk currently and they can’t get the pain under control so She’ll not be getting straight out. I certainly sympathise, some of you will recall I did the same a couple of years ago and it was absolutely awful! After work I wen to fat fighters and then did an emergency shop for pants, toiletries, magazines, snacks and also found a spare Phone charger. I did buy a few bits for us too while I was there but blimey, it added up quickly! Defo won’t accept any money back, but will let her buy me a G&T when she’s back on her feet Wink. I popped it round to her today on the way to work as she was in a central London hospital, sadly not where I work though. She looked so happy to see a friendly face.

Had a manic morning, now having a quick bit of lunch in itsu (5.50 for soup and edamame with nhs discount). Then back to it... the pressure is awful at the moment Hmm.

Happierwithouthim · 15/01/2020 14:59

Well done to your dd unescorted - saw name of another thread would you allow your child to move x distance for college - at that stage I think child/teen should have a say in where they go! Didn't read the thread mind.

christmas your poor friend, well done on helping her out

I just put a memory book for wedding anniversary up on ebay, we never used it so someone might get benefit of it, and my wallet might get a boost too, next up will be Crystal candle holders that are still in boxes from wedding, think I'll post them on facebook selling group though

GuyFawkesDay · 15/01/2020 17:39

Congratulations to your DD @Unescorted, I have many happy college memories from my uni days too!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/01/2020 18:14

Ah you are such a lovely friend sea.
More than reasonable maths em
Defo time poor for the house, and inclination. Though my declutter is going well. How are you guys doing the one thing a day getting on?

Nsd in the end as could get out of the office due to meetings. Knackered.

Verily1 · 15/01/2020 19:36

2 NSDs in a row.

I find during the week easy to NS. There are no shops near my work and I take in lunch. I don’t go anywhere/ do anything on weekday evenings.

We are eating our cheapy diet- baked potato for dinner.

Unescorted · 15/01/2020 19:37

Thanks for all the love... sea DD did get into her first choice college. One of 2 for the course. She is yet to come down off her high (who can blame her... )

Full fridge / cupboards here depends when in the month - they are empty ish atm, but will be full by the end of next weekend b/c we do a monthly shop. Although we always have at least a couple of weeks of cupboard emergency food.

Accidentalaccountant · 15/01/2020 19:44

Em one for you as I think you live there. In our local paper 4 bedroom suites, indoor pool, Sun terrace, double garage, sea views on Jersey for sale. Price? Any guesses all?

ememem84 · 15/01/2020 20:16

I do accidental

I reckon £1.8 million.

OP posts:
Accidentalaccountant · 15/01/2020 20:38

Way off.
12.5 million unless they put the decimal in the wrong place.
Why it's in our paper? We are geographically close ish as SW but poor relatively. Absolutely madness.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/01/2020 20:46

That is bonkers accidental!

sea, you are a brilliant friend, hope she recovers quickly.

LSD, £3.50 on a lunch deal from the co-op.

ememem84 · 15/01/2020 20:55

OP posts:
ememem84 · 15/01/2020 20:59

curvy yes bonkers. But that’s how it is here. We bought our end terrace three bed house for £575k. It’s an ordinary house. On an estate. Nothing special (other than its now our home).

That sort of money would get you a hideous amount in most areas of the U.K.

SnugglySnerd · 15/01/2020 21:23

Your poor friend Sea, you are very kind.

I am beyond tired. Off to bed I think. Nsd.

Accidentalaccountant · 15/01/2020 21:27

No though that is also mad. Fine and country. German built. Sorry can't link

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/01/2020 21:40

em, where I live, in london, the prices are similar to what you paid. But yes you are right, in other areas you would get a fair bit more.

LaneBoy · 15/01/2020 21:41

Yesterday
1.85 tesco
3.32 lidl

Today
19.93 Pizza Hut for friend’s birthday
2.80 DS bus fare

Frugal win. Was very lucky to have a free half hour appointment with an educational psychologist today. There were only five slots available and i nabbed a cancellation. Good to discuss DS’ educational needs! (DD should theoretically access one via school... someday Hmm)

Huge congratulations to your talented daughter unescorted!

I can’t believe it’s only Wednesday. It has been One Hell Of A Week.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/01/2020 21:47

Hope you are ok Lane

ememem84 · 15/01/2020 22:09
