I'm working today so dh is at home with the dc. Before I left I said 'I'm not sure what there is for dinner tonight because I forgot dd is at a party and I didn't really get anything that you can make' (he 'cant' cook) and he didn't say anything. Wonder if he will actually consider the fact that he should have made dinner when I get home? Doubt it. Ds will be grumpy because dinner will be late and I'll be pissed off that despite being out all day, whilst dh is home, I still have to cook dinner when I get home. Place your bets now Grin

AdoraBell · 16/03/2019 11:59

Rosa hope you get something sorted PDQ, but it sounds like he’s dangling a carrot by saying he might move out. Was that before or after you got some advice from the charity?

#cynical

Glad your families are okay Wreck and em

That’s a pain re non driving Cag hope something suitable comes up soon.

Not much spending this week just £80 ish on groceries. MIL funeral is next week and I’ve messed my shoulder up. It was on the mend until I forgot and used both hands to dry my hair. In my head I was complaining about going to fro between MIU and X-Ray when the sensible part of my brain gave me a mental slap and said - you’re not paying for all this fantastic care. I now have a sling, seen physio again, new gentle excerises and back to physio on Monday for assessment.

WreckTangled · 16/03/2019 12:53

Cag just saw a tree has fallen on a house near you! I can't see any trees as I'm working in the shop so didn't realise it was that windy Shock

Justanothermile · 16/03/2019 13:25

Oh bad news re the shoulder Adora.

See, the conversation would have gone 'I'm not here tonight, you'll have to sort tea' and left it at that wrecked if it were our house 😂. Then, if tea hadn't been made I'd have asked why!

Curvy take care of yourself. X

Sorry work is such heavy going north. I'm feeling the pain too. At least you got a more peaceful day today.

Well... we struck gold and my wallet remains far heavier than I had anticipated... stunning dress in Karen Millen, fits like a dream and looks amazing - £56, reduced from £180. I'll post a photo later. I think it's got overlooked because I could see it's one of those that look far better on than on the hanger and the sales assistant agreed with that.

Just shoes and bag to get, but we will do that over Easter anyway. The dress is black and silver, so she can have fun with the accessories.

Dd also spend £70 on bras and underwear as she's lost lots of weight recently (she's a gym bunny now lonely!) and £40 on some jeans. All Christmas money that she hadn't spent.

£7.50 parking.

Lonely. So creative. But sounds bloody amazing if you can get that to work!

I could lose hours of my life on Pinterest😂

That’s fantastic Jam, what a result

Justanothermile · 16/03/2019 13:34

She's been such a pain this week wolf I was dreading today, so happy days!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 16/03/2019 13:37

If dh just did dinner off his own back he would likely end up just pissing me off as I do the food shop/meal planning. When you're on such a tight budget you can have people using ingredients for x which were meant for y Grin great news on the dress!

Justanothermile · 16/03/2019 13:39

Ah yes - last thing you want is him thinking sod it, I'll get a take out or whatever. Agreed. Smile

RoseMartha · 16/03/2019 15:46

@WreckTangled hope you dont have to cook later. 🤗

@AdoraBell Hope your shoulder is better soon.

It was after my solicitor wrote a letter asking him to move out. First he said never then replied via solicitor and agreed but with various conditions, which are yet to be finalised. (House will be sold sometime this year, so it is not as though kids and I will be here for long).

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 16/03/2019 16:30

Thanks life and jam.
No life I haven't told him yet, things have just been too hectic and my mind has been elsewhere, worrying about eldest dd with uni problems, I have been pretty ill.
But I will get there x

Girliefriendlikescake · 16/03/2019 17:19

Dress sounds great jam i think I'll enjoy the whole prom thing a lot more than dd will!! She is not bothered about dresses/hair/make up etc at all. Lonely you are so creative, I'd love to be able to make clothes.

Rose that sounds like a really tricky situation, I know happier had similar difficulties getting her ex out. Honestly what is wrong with these bloody men?! It makes me mad 😡

I've been working today, wasn't too bad, spent £4 on a subway. My diet this week has been atrocious 😶 must try harder.... after a take away tonight

WreckTangled · 16/03/2019 18:04

Well dh messaged me and asked what to do for dinner and I sad bacon and tomato pasta but I'll have couscous instead.

Got home and the conversation went like this:

Me: mmm that smells nice. Can I have salad with mine?
Dh: no you can do your own salad!
Me: Hmm oh you've made the couscous thanks
Dh: yeah you might need to add some more water as I don't think it's done
Me: (smelling couscous) did you only use water for this?
Dh: yes that's what the instructions said
Me: oh it has no flavour if you just use water you need to use stock
Dh: well I just followed the instructions!
Me: I never follow the instructions just chuck it in
Dh: that's why yours is always stodgy then
Me: well at least it has flavour
Dh: this is why I never cook dinner because you just criticise what I do! Blah blah blah

OMG please tell me others have stupid pointless arguments like this.

Ffs. And I have to go back out in a bit to get dd from a party. Might have to dig out my secret chocolate stash Sad

RoseMartha · 16/03/2019 18:13

Thanks girlie.

Oh wreck, was that better than you hoped. I hope it was edible.

WreckTangled · 16/03/2019 18:17

It was fine once I added some stock! He just gets so offended. Thing is last time he made couscous we had the exact same conversation 🤦🏽‍♀️ the bacon and tomato sauce was really good. It was shitty not to make a salad though but hey ho.

Cagliostro · 16/03/2019 18:18

Bloody hell wreck just googled and had a Shock moment as the house looks exactly like our old one! :o

Sorry things are tetchy with DH.

I had a nice time volunteering. And EPIC frugal win, they had far too many age 2-3 clothes so I have come home with a big bag of them, and some 18-24 too. Very achy now partly due to the manual handling type stuff (the help is mainly setting up/packing away/sorting clothes) but also the cooooold 🥶

Going to curl up and catch up with masterchef as we are quite behind. Dinner is from the freezer, I’m really glad I did a big batch of sausage stew the other day.

Wolfcub · 16/03/2019 19:05

Had a nice time at the pub £9 plus haircut £40. A good time was had by all. I could murder a takeaway but I deliberately bought supermarket pizza so we wouldn’t order one. Pizza in the oven, i feel like I could eat a lion!

Justanothermile · 16/03/2019 19:18

Good you've had a nice time wolf.

Here's the dress. I paid £56 in store and am happy to post a photo of the receipt honest.

Oooo nice!

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/03/2019 19:33

That dress is fabulous and such a bargain. Well done jam.
Oh no curvy, sorry things are not right for dd at uni. Hope you sort whatever it is. Are you going back to Edinburgh to see her?
Pleased you had a good time wolf.

£110 on a new Garmin, should get some cash back too. £10 on day or at local museum with friends then lasagne and freezer suprise pudding.

Wolfcub · 16/03/2019 19:40

Fabulous dress, she can really
Go to town with accessories and there are lots of options to ad colour or punk it up

ememem84 · 16/03/2019 19:45

Haven’t caught up but just checking in.

Farm is lovely. We’ve fed all the animals, collected eggs (duck and chickens), ds tried to pick a goats nose...

We’ve seen grandma. She was over the moon to meet ds. 😭😍

Lovely time so far.

Managed to get myself a cheeky upgrade to our hire car too. Bigger car for £5 a day instead of £25. Wooop.

HotChocolateLover · 17/03/2019 07:39

£28 spends in Wickes yesterday on bathroom stuff. £45 in Aldi yesterday plus £11.40 in Sainsbury’s so a spendy weekend. My lovely mum won £50 on a scratchcard and gave us £20 and DH mum also gave us £20 which is really lovely. No real spends coming up this week.

Lovemaltesers · 17/03/2019 08:00

Yesterday spends
£40 Clark's
£15 Gap
£15 H&M

Both DDs feet have grown but just got the older one new shoes. Need to dig through DD1s old shoes for DD2 as some were barely worn. Shoes are so expensive!

DP is doing us a fry up for breakfast 😋 Then supermarket trip and need to stock up.

Hope you have a lovely weekend em

Love the dress for DD jam
