Wolfcub · 31/01/2019 19:25

Lonely I will have to fight you for the marzipan....or we can share

WreckTangled · 31/01/2019 19:26

Noooo I want all the marzipan!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/01/2019 20:25

Welcome Battenburg my mum is obsessed with marzipan, would give my share to her!

Happy Birthday Curvy have you done anything nice for your bday? Sorry to hear about your aunt, that is too young.

Hope you feel better today Em I thought gallstones as well but Cags right it is the wrong side! Might be worth mentioning to the midwife anyway.

Hope your appointment was o.kay Cag and hope little Cags jab wasn't too bad. We got dds letter today about the HPV vaccine, still a bit on the fence about this one, dd is saying she wants it but not at school....

Sneaky thats annoying re the council tax, make sure you're only paying for a single person when you do start paying again.

Love hope dd is o.kay, so many bugs about this year.

Wreck I know of them but not well.

Unescorted thankyou for the offer, thats really kind. I don't think I will do a power point as I am shit at them but will do some sort of hand out maybe. haven't had much time to think about it but have two days off next week so will crack on with it then.

All o.kay here, snow has just started to come down a bit heavier. Work have said if we don't go in tomorrow we won't get paid Hmm so risking life and limb it is then. I reckon dds school will be closed so will leave her on her own for a bit and then my mum is about in the afternoon.

Nsd.

WreckTangled · 31/01/2019 20:54

Girlie if dds school is closed can you not take it as carers leave? That's what our trust lets you do.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/01/2019 20:55

Nope wreck they said we could use annual leave but mine is all used up 😕

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/01/2019 21:11

Welcome Battenburg
Thank you all for the birthday wishes and the kind words for my aunt.

Sea, I think I'm ok with the Big One, a lot of my colleagues are early 40s and welcomed me to the club!
Work were really nice today and I took cake in.
I want to get a new tattoo, so some of my family have given me money towards that.
Girlie, we are going to the cinema tomorrow to watch the new How to train your Dragon movie.
So yes I have been treated very well today and I feel incredibly lucky.

Love, hope your dd feels better soon. Maybe there is something going around as my dd put herself to bed at 6:30pm. She was complaining of feeling a bit sick and felt a bit warm.

Cag, hope your appt went well today.
Wolf enjoy your wine when you get it
Em hope you feel better soon
Sneaky, get the refund!
Hope everyone else is ok

SneakyGremlins · 31/01/2019 22:11

Happy birthday Curvy - sorry I missed it!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/01/2019 22:22

Sneaky, you haven't missed it, it is today!
Thank you x

Unescorted · 31/01/2019 22:50

Sorry Curvy I missed that too. Happy birthday. Turning 40 is the best kept secret Grin

Wolf we have the very best cake shop - we need to co-ordinate diaries.

girlie not powerpoint unless you need visuals.

LonelyOversharer · 31/01/2019 23:09

Hey curvy hope you have had a really happy day Cake. I found 40 remarkably similar to 39!

I have made my own flapjack! Having lost the recipie, so thanks jam Grin smells great. Just cooling. Plus I finished up the dregs of 2 jars of smooth peanut butter (missed subs from online shop, we only eat crunchy). Dd2 made buns, so some goodies for the lunchboxes tomorrow.

Cagliostro · 01/02/2019 00:54

Well, if people are fighting over marzipan scraps I’ll happily sacrifice mine. I can take it or leave it really, I only have it for the sake of getting to the yellowy pinky yumminess underneath.

😳😂

Happy birthday curvy :)

Cagletini is fine, just stroppy, she didn’t cry much at all though apparently.

My appt... well it was weird. I was asked lots of questions for an hour. Bit tricky as had to go right into the past etc, ugh.

And then after all that she asked what I would like from the service, I hoiked up my collective frugaleer pants so far I got a wedgie and told her my thoughts, we had a good chat about that and I put my points across well and she totally saw my point...

And CMHT can’t provide any of those things, so they are discharging me. 🤦‍♀️😂

So it was kind of like what they say about crappy relationships, it isn’t a waste of time because it tells you what you DON’T want in a man 😏 as I know it’s pointless barking up that tree. She’s sending some forms for the adult ASD service. Which may be pointless as they will see they already diagnosed me. But perhaps they will know how I can get my hands on the drugs. #priorities

Cagliostro · 01/02/2019 00:59

In very very non frugal news, I sent a message to the charity that do the complete assessments. It would be £900 total for both Caglets, over two days. Eeeek. There are possibilities of that being reduced even further, depending on income etc, although not counting on it.

Lots of brave things done, who wants the big girl pants next? I’ll shove them in the wash.

ChristmasSeacow · 01/02/2019 06:50

Is that for the Ed Psych assessment Cag? It’s what I’d expect but it is a lotta money indeed Confused

The whole appointment thing is frustrating - there has to be somewhere to go that’s the right place! Would the Nice Gp be able to help further?

Hardly any snow here, literally a smattering.

WreckTangled · 01/02/2019 06:55

Hardly any snow here too. So disappointing. They really got it wrong! Wonder if I can get a refund on my sledge Grin

Wolfcub · 01/02/2019 07:21

We have ice but no snow

Spends day today
£40 haircut
Need diesel
Need food
Df is picking up some bits from the farm shop which I will owe him for
Lunch with friends, one owes me £100 but I don’t know if they will pay me today or not. Not in a massive rush for it.

Also going to switch off bastard temperamental fridge freezer and let it defrost and hope that cheers the fucker up and it stops leaking all over my floor

WreckTangled · 01/02/2019 07:39

I'm not going out today. Last time we drove in the snow we slid into a wall. It's so windy and hilly here.

Frugaleers dripping their way through a wet January...
Unescorted · 01/02/2019 08:20

Morning

I am enjoying a lie in - I don't have to be up until 9 ish. And then it will be a slow start.

There isn't any snow here - just hope the trains keep running from further South so they can take me home later.

Cag that is a frustrating place to be - between services.

Wolfcub · 01/02/2019 08:24

Hmm it is not going well here. Pipes are frozen from the sink to outside (common in this weather) but the sink is leaking into the cupboard below. I have bailed out as much as I can. Even though I thought I’d pretty much emptied the freezer I’ve actially had to throw lots away - some of it I wouldn’t trust though with the freezer intermittently defrosting itself.

Grr

Unescorted · 01/02/2019 08:49

wolf make sure you have plenty of towels and buckets if it is already dripping. Once it thaws it will start spewing water under pressure. It is a bit of a balance - turn the stop cock off now and risk freezing in other pipes or have the leak you know making a mess if you leave the water flowing in the rest of the system. If you have time get some plumbing tape and wrap the place that is leaking.

Everybody else leave a tap running to prevent freezing.

Battenburg1978 · 01/02/2019 10:42

This is having the non-frugal effect ornament want marzipan!! Actually come to think of it there might well be a scrap of Christmas cake left over in the tin 😂

Wolf, I hope your freezer calms down! Not what you want to be dealing with in this weather.

Hope everyone is staying warm. I'm at one with poorly DD age 2 today. I had already booked the days off to declutter the house but it's turned into mummy-daughter time instead! Not much in the way of snow here but it's chilly. I've set the thermostat to 19. Prior to this we could only have the heating on or off so how does 19 sound? Stingy, or normal?

Wow Cag that is a lot of money. I really hope there's some way the charity could help financially.

Today's frugal win is cooking up some pears that were on offer in tesco last week to make 3 tubs of crumble filling for puddings next week. Sometimes I buy this sort of thing then it slowly rots in the fruit bowl before being chucked so I'm glad it's not going to waste. Turns out DD loves pear too!

Battenburg1978 · 01/02/2019 10:44

HappyBirthday Curvy! 40 is a great age 😃😃

Cagliostro · 01/02/2019 11:04

It’s not an ed psych but an overall assessment that looks at all sorts like ADHD autism dyslexia sensory processing etc.

The sticking point is that they don’t 100% diagnose anything. So you don’t get a bit of paper that says “J is dyslexic” etc but they do a huuuuge report, and a therapy programme etc which can be used as evidence elsewhere.

My friend used it as evidence for an EHCP which is incredibly hard to get as a home educator. And they then provided an NHS ed psych anyway as part of that. So that may well be the route we go down. And at least it would be SOMETHING to, for example, show a school if DD decides to try one.

And the price (while scary) is much more achievable than the other options of getting individual assessments for each condition, and I like that this one does it all in one go and looks at the whole picture.

Cagliostro · 01/02/2019 11:09

That’s the heavily subsidised price already BTW. If we were to do it all privately I reckon it could cost maybe £4-6k for the two kids, maybe more if they didn’t cover all the different conditions

Wolfcub · 01/02/2019 12:04

Battenburg mine is on at 18 at the moment and I’m toasty but I’m doing things.

When I’m working at home I normally keep it around 14 or 15 but I have a hot water bottle and a wrap

When I’m sitting still in an evening it’s between 18 and 20 in winter but I do have a blanket if my legs get cold.
