Ok so colleague had just introduced me to roast chicken flavour hula hoops. Good lord they’re good.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/01/2019 17:37

Better than bbq beef em?!

wreck boys and their bits, a best friend for life! He probably doesn't even realise he's doing it.

I've just done some sums for Feb and in theory at least this month should be okay. If I'm careful I'll aim to put an additional £100 into my savings.

I'm looking at going away for a few nights over the may half term. There's a nice place near Sidmouth that has a small holding which dd would love it's £200 for 3 nights though so quite pricey. I'm saving quite a bit on the summer holiday though as using a friends apartment in Cornwall so think it evens out.

Happierwithouthim · 28/01/2019 18:05

Ds is 5 & spends quite a lot of his time with his hand on or near his willy, it's a boys toy that they've always got with them Hmm I don't think it's right to tell him to stop as it's not something to be ashamed of but I do ask him to stop playing with it while we're all together!
If he was naked at dinner he'd have one hand on food and other on willy Shock

Nsd day today working too late to go for bulb and I'm going to town tomo anyhow so will just do it then instead.

Wolfcub · 28/01/2019 18:57

Cag it’s lovely to see you I am sorry to hear you are having such a tough time of it. Big unmimsnettt hugs to you

Em Wreck I hate to say it but ds shows no sign of becoming less attached to his bits. At your ds’s age Wreck his hand would gravitate to his willy every time he was watching tv

WreckTangled · 28/01/2019 19:02

It's worse than that wolf it's not just a quick fiddle! It's full on dry humping Blush

SnugglySnerd · 28/01/2019 19:10

Happy belated birthday Jam!

Lovely to see Lonely and Cag.

NSD. Yay! Also pay day. Hooray!!
Need to do some work, just trying to work out where to start.

ChristmasSeacow · 28/01/2019 19:15

Wreck my DD does that (lying on her hands on her front). She’s only 19m and wears a nappy so I can’t imagine it’s especially thrilling but she properly humps the sofa or floor while watching tv HmmBlush. I guess I just go with the flow for now.

Cag glad you are still here, hopefully things will get easier as you come off the drugs and adjust. It sounds horrendous.

Great maternity package Em!

I did make it to Sainsbury’s today - £67 later... ahem. I did stock up on a lot of their stuff that I particularly like, including 3x big box of washing powder, frozen pizzas, low fat sausages etc. And housewarming flowers for a friend.

Mustn’t spend too much but I do need some new work clothes as mine are getting too big. Trousers and a navy jacket would be handy.

WreckTangled · 28/01/2019 19:29

That's exactly what he does sea! I've tried having a chat as gently as I can but now he's saying he doesn't want to go to 'that school' 😭 I can't win. Why are both my dc so anxious all the time?!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/01/2019 19:44

Oh dear wreck I do think it's very normal for boys to be very attached to their willies but I guess all boys (and girls) have to learn to contain their umm urges 😐

I made a syrup sponge pudding in the microwave, was really nice but probably about a million calories per bite!! Reminded me of my childhood school dinners.

Madness are playing this summer locally think will get tickets, it would be a fun night.

SneakyGremlins · 28/01/2019 20:21

It's very normal Grin

Tomorrow night's dinner! Has just been stuffed into slow cooker and is marinading in the fridge overnight. I bought some reusable freezer tubs from Aldi, 3 1L tubs for £1.99 so will freeze leftovers!

That'll be delicious sneaky! You got a good haul for your money. I do love Aldi and those sausages are delicious. I got those freezer tubs too (dh hates all my storage pots!)

SneakyGremlins · 28/01/2019 20:30

I actually got the last pack of decent sized boxes Grin the other ones were all too small!

Lovemaltesers · 28/01/2019 20:41

Sorry to hear you feel so unwell cag Thanks

Missed you lonely. Do we need more about frugal baking and knitting to get you back Smile

And Blush for the awkward phone call wreck but I doubt it is the first time the teacher has had a similar conversation.

Pay day too. Whoop!

NSD

Lovemaltesers · 28/01/2019 20:42

Glad you have some answers on the maternity stuff em

Unescorted · 28/01/2019 21:17

Evening :)

I have been making sure I have the last bits for a fully stocked spice cupboard from the Chinese supermarket. My swede will be a tasty swede.

Wilkos had seeds in today and there were queues to get them.

Lonely thanks for the flapjack tip - quite a few times I have had granola rather than flapjack. I keep meaning to ask when do you plant your first early spuds & what do you use?

Cag good to see you. Hope you get over your drug induced weirdness soon.

Do boys actually grow out of hanging onto their willies? They seem to transition from thumb sucking to worrying their penis will fall off.

Cagliostro · 28/01/2019 22:00

We actually have a word to remind DS to get his hand out of his pants. “Willyitis”

Thanks all. Sorry I’m not participating properly, I’m not being much of a frugaleer! I did do my tax return today though, which it then turned out I didn’t actually need to do as I earned under a grand that year but hey ho. I even declared my 26p ISA interest 😂😂😂

I’m feeling crap still but a little more positive as I’ve found a drug to ask for next :o propranolol is often used for both anxiety AND postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, soooo it could well be killing two birds with one stone. I still have a long term plan but that will require a long fight for assessments and such I think so I want to go into my CMHT with options (it’s on Thursday).

I’m also going to phone GP tomorrow to beg for liquid paroxetine to reduce the dose more gradually, unless today was the peak and I’m through the worst of it. Was worse than the feelings that put me on the bloody things in the first place 🙄🙄🙄 if DH had been working the last few days (still signed off and waiting BTW, no news yet on referrals etc, still in pain) I’m not actually sure what would have happened.

Girlie you’ve mentioned side effects before but I’d not realised it was an SSRI you were referring to. :( I’ve pretty much decided I’m never trying one again. I have tried many over the years anyway so I thought I’d be ok, heck I quit sertraline cold turkey before and was absolutely fine! 🤦‍♀️

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/01/2019 22:02

Unescorted Grin I am so glad I don't have a willy!! I picked up some seeds today in The Range, just for wildflowers though, haven't decided what food to try and grow yet. Would like to try potatoes but would need to find a deep container, might see if the reuse shop has anything. I can't wait to start gardening again, roll on spring and some warmer weather.

Lonely can you post your flapjack receipe again please?? Mine are def not quite right....

The Brexit threads are making me want to stock up even more food, think will make sure I have lots of flour/bread flour/yeast etc which would be useful if we do get snow as well.

Booked dds bday activity, she wants to go to a trampoline park with a friend. I found an old discount code and got a few quid off, £32 for two of them for two hours. Have limited her to one friend this year as it all got a bit out of hand last year. Will take them for a birthday dinner as well.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/01/2019 22:07

Oh bless you Cag I honestly have never felt so ill as I did when I took them, it actually helped with the anxiety in that the anxiety was actually the least of my worries!! Never again. I hope you are through the worse and I am glad your dh is there to support you

LonelyOversharer · 28/01/2019 22:07

This year I'm planting anything left in the tubs from last year, the chickens have been rootling them up, but since I started work they have not been touched: dp can manage the veg plot, but the 30 or so tubs of spuds he walks past to get to the veg plot have eluded him. Bestist are Maris Peer, and then International kidney (Jersey Royals). Planting properly mid feb unless we have snow before.

Main crop are charlotte, maris piper and king edwards. Plus anything that jumps into my basket at my favourite garden center shoppy. Will plant them late april/may.

I spent a whopping £1 today on big hula hoops. Postage covered by buyer.
And £13 on 2 flute books (grade1 for dd3 (10) and grade 4 for dd1 (16) but she is doing it for DofE).

Unescorted · 28/01/2019 22:23

I need to clear my beds - only chard left atm and that wilted in the frost. I saw a natty way to grow spuds and not have to harvest all at once. Get 2 large plastic pots the same size. Cut most of the sides away so you end up with something like this (Amazon) The one I saw had 3 panels cut out. When you want spuds lift the inner pot up and grab some.

I am off to source some JR/ IK's and MPs.

I did not know they can learn an instrument for DoE.... ds is finding it difficult to get some mates together to do the expedition. What he considers a run / ride out is way beyond what most of the others want to do.

LonelyOversharer · 28/01/2019 22:44

She's doing it for the "skill" part. Clocks runs/walks on strava for the sport (very unsporty) and is loving volunteering at a farm. Luckily her school are very into it, and are organising all the expeditions. I imagine your ds would have a bit of trouble amongst his school peers unescorted as he's essentially a pro rider!

Rightwayup · 29/01/2019 06:11

Girlie you can do potatoes in bags. We used to have garden recycling bags then they changed us to a bin so I use the bags for potatoes. NSD yesterday. Won't be today going to do a food bank shop. Roll on Thursday payday and owed £1400 in expenses.
Lonely good to see you posting again. I missed it all but reading back and remembering a few other things it does seem the other missing poster always seems involved and I don't mean the fluffy one. Come back fluffy i still want to know how you spend so little on petrol.🚗🚗🚗Ⓜ⛽⛽⛽

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/01/2019 06:17

Happy birthday jam.
Welcome back lonely
