£40 on two romesh ranganathan tickets. In your neck of the woods @Cagliostro hope you're ok btw?

Happierwithouthim · 18/01/2019 11:14

€37.50 on three tickets for Bosco in Feb, this was my childhood tv programme of a puppet, remember tayto, hoping dc will appreciate it.

SneakyGremlins · 18/01/2019 11:26

Estate agents have told me there's a man arriving around 12 to examine the electrics. What does this mean? Is it like PAT testing? Anyone know how long it'll take?

SneakyGremlins · 18/01/2019 13:23

IT'S SNOWING

OP posts:
Girliefriendlikesflowers · 18/01/2019 13:34

How exciting sneaky no snow here but it's freezing cold!

wreck that's so annoying, hope dd is feeling better.

em that burger sounds gross!!

I'm on my lunch break, realised today I've got about 50p in my account so will have to go overdraw 😣 will make a list of what food we need and careful meal plan. Cupboards and freezer are quite well stocked so it's only fresh bits really. Will need about a tenners worth of petrol to get through the week next week.

WreckTangled · 18/01/2019 13:36

She's ok thanks girlie she wanted to go to school at one point but is back under her blanket. At least I'll be able to surprise ds by going to assembly. He was so sad when I said I couldn't come.

ememem84 · 18/01/2019 14:32

AHem

SneakyGremlins · 18/01/2019 14:39

Two hours for food to arrive? Shock

OP posts:
ememem84 · 18/01/2019 16:32

Oh no! Two hours between posting the photo of the menu and the pic of my burger. Food arrived about 15-20 mins after ordering.

God it was tasty. And half price burgers. So lunch for dh and including a schooner of ipa for dh (no idea which one but it tasted fruity) £21.40. Delish. Now waiting for the bedroom furniture design person to arrive. Free design visit no doubt the hard sell. But I want options. Dh is going to speak to a carpenter about building something bespoke in. He thinks cheaper. Which it may well be. Also our new neighbour is a carpenter. (And coincidently is the same guy who fitted our kitchen in our apartment back in 2013). Im heading next door tomorrow to ask to see their wardrobes. See how they’ve done things. Too cheeky? Probably. But no harm in asking.

Went to dr this morning. To chat about coming off my meds. I’ve been taking the lowest dose every other day for a couple of weeks now. Dr says if I feel happy just stop. So that’s my plan. She wouldn’t ordinarily recommend coming off antidepressants in January but said that the ones I’m on aren’t idea to be pregnant on (although they will do no harm there’s just not enough evidence etc), I’m active and feeling better in myself on the lowest dose so basically am doing it all myself anyway and I never wanted to be on them long term. Also I’m apparently rubbish at remembering to take tablets......hence why I’m pregnant. (Although I swear I took the pill religiously on time every day).

Picked Ds up from dparents and popped to the park on the way home. We had a swing (I sat on the one next to him once I’d got him going and he thought it hilarious) went on the slide and let him bounce on the “trampoline” essentially a bouncy net over a shallow pit in the floor. (Sounds dodgy but super safe).

He’s tired so have popped him down for a nap. But he’s showing no signs of wanting to sleep. Which is annoying as I wanted to be able to actually discuss things with wardrobe man. But hey ho.

northender · 18/01/2019 17:46

Wolf good news about camhs for ds. Hope you manage to work around the times. Enjoy the peace while he's at camp.
Em I think I'd need a sleep after that burger! Exciting for you planning the bedroom furniture.
Wreck enjoy ds' assembly, that will cheer you up & they do always love you to be there.
Loving the holiday talk yesterday. Christmas I love the N Wales coast. Are you going to be coastal or inland? The Lleyn peninsula is beautiful.
Wreck that price for Spain sounds a very good deal.
Girlie I love Cornwall & miss being able to get there so quickly when we lived in Plymouth. Friends have been posting on FB today from West Cornwall which is our favourite bit & I feel quite Envy.
nocuts we're going to Edinburgh for the weekend in 2 weeks' time. The train journey is great from here, 2.5 hours and £60 for the 4 of us. Dh and ds are going to a football match on the Saturday so happier I may take dd to Dynamic Earth. I hadn't heard of it but have looked now and it looks up our street.
unescorted a language course sounds good. I've thought about a cookery course before (pre dc probably!) but was never sure quite how pretensious they might be.

Have been doing lots of sorting today & the house is beginning to look a lot better. Had lunch out with dh £30. £8 on posting dnephew's birthday present. No other spends.

Happierwithouthim · 18/01/2019 18:05

North I've never been to Cornwall is st ives there because someone I follow on insta lives there it looks lovely
Hope you & dd enjoy dynamic earth, there's a restaurant across the way next to pizza express which is quite good too.

Edinburgh is my happy place

Dd said to me this morning can we stay in Ireland for our holidays this year ShockGrin

Em not cheeky if you've a good relationship

Happierwithouthim · 18/01/2019 18:07

I've got a stuffed head so I think tomo will be a pj day, dc with their dad, I might binge watch new series of grace & Frankie Grin

Happierwithouthim · 18/01/2019 18:10

Spends €1.50 on a Hershey's bar
€51 on diesel on fuel card

northender · 18/01/2019 18:28

Yes St Ives is in Cornwall & is beautiful. Unfortunately it's unpleasantly busy in school hols, esp summer. We were lucky in 2017 as our October half term was different from the rest of the country so prices were half what they had been the previous week. We had a great time & it was lovely & quiet.

WreckTangled · 18/01/2019 18:40

Just had two stages cross the road in front of me. Good job I saw them as they certainly took their time crossing Hmm

£55 Aldi
£39 fuel
£29 Tesco

Will post meal plan once I've worked it out Blush

Wolfcub · 18/01/2019 18:46

Sneaky your snow has made it over to me ⛄️ hope the electric visit went ok

Ds deposited at camp. Glass of wine poured 😁

North I back-packed round Devon and Cornwall at 16. Lovely place. Would like to go back but it’s a long old drive

I also love Edinburgh a friend and I used to go for Hogmanay during a-levels

NursieBernard · 18/01/2019 18:53

I love Cornwall, we spend 2 weeks on the north coast every summer holiday and I just spent my 40th birthday there Smile

£8 spend on eyebrow shaping today.

Watching the local panto this weekend, tickets already paid for so hopefully NSD tomorrow.

Wolfcub · 18/01/2019 20:37

1.99 Amazon film download
17 takeaway annoyingly they’ve started charging £2 delivery even though we are within 1/4 of a mile 17 pence Quidco cashback does not make up for that

northender · 18/01/2019 20:39

Frugal win: just phoned Virgin to ask if our monthly payment can be reduced (as it had gone up by £20 over the past couple of months) and it has been reduced by £16 a month for the same package. I had to hold for about 25 minutes, but I persevered and it was worth it!

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/01/2019 20:42

£2 on squash for work.

I like Cornwall and we have been a couple of times. Might take the DC to Edinburgh in the summer but not while fringe is on.
Google Edinburgh zoo, bet there are offers. If you know anyone one in public sector then there are cssc discounts at times.
