My DM is a hoarder and I've tried so hard not to be but some times I slip back.
Trying not to hoard though.
£46 Sainsbury's, £35 poundstretcher. Got a load of tote boxes to put things away properly in the garage

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/12/2018 19:37

Unescorted If you’ve got a family background of gambling issues it’s best you avoid it.

If I’d done the extra place bet I was considering I would have made another £30. But I didn’t want to put more money into the exchange so I didn’t.

Unescorted · 27/12/2018 19:41

jam my worry is that if we have a no deal there won't be any trading anywhere as we are currently using the EU negotiated WTO schedule for non EU trade. If we fall outside that we don't have any trading agreements until we can negotiate our own schedule. That took Canada 5 years.

Unescorted · 27/12/2018 19:43

Not my family .... A person was killed in front of his family either for running up debts or not playing ball on a project in HK. It was long and protracted. My Dad was his colleague.

AutumnLeaves12 · 27/12/2018 20:14

LOL! Unescorted I think even my enthusiasm will falter if I have to buy 5 years worth of rice. I think that no deal is probably not the good option.

Apparently we're getting strawberry coke in January.

Justanothermile · 27/12/2018 20:21

Ouch unescorted.

Not meaning to be flippant re Brexit, our business is niche and flexible. Rather the whole mess wasn't happening. Not really a frugal debate anyway.

LOL...

Lovemaltesers · 27/12/2018 20:46

Three NSDs in a row Halo

Unescorted · 27/12/2018 21:00

jam you are right ... But being a CS and having bored my family to tears I have limited outlets. Maybe I could NC for the Brexit boards. Apologies for hijacking.

Sneaky Cherry Coke is bad enough and Vanilla Coke is enough to put me off Victoria Sponge. Why do they do this?

Justanothermile · 27/12/2018 21:02

You don't hijack at all. The 'ouch' was for your dads colleague, apologies if that was unclear.

SneakyGremlins · 27/12/2018 21:05

Cherry Coke is great thankyou very much.

I have a £40 Asda shop of tins and sauce jars ready to buy, when my next ESA comes through.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/12/2018 21:06

So you’d probably be ok Unescorted.

Strawberry coke could work. Cherry coke does.

Wolfcub · 27/12/2018 21:07

God I love cherry coke

SneakyGremlins · 27/12/2018 21:07

Would post my shop but I'd get nagged at for it not being healthy enough Grin

Unescorted · 27/12/2018 21:16

fluffy I have to cross the road to go past betting shops. Even my desk is properly positioned so it isn't above Paddy Power. I measured it out using a surveyors wheel and building plans. They do think me a bit odd at work.

AdoraBell · 27/12/2018 21:25

NSD

ememem84 · 27/12/2018 21:28

I love cherry coke. Makes me burp like a dude though.

We found 4 cans of cherryade at coop for £1. So obviously we bought loads. It’s ace.

I second or third bar soap. Absolutely best thing ever. Lasts ages.

On another beauty note I am frugalling by not washing my hair as often. I can go twice a week at present. It’s not gross. My hair doesn’t take to being washed every day.

We also rarely waste food.

SneakyGremlins · 27/12/2018 21:32

Might throw those chicken bits I bought in with some pasta.

Unescorted · 27/12/2018 21:44

Frugal tip - always take a pack up lunch. It will save about £1000 pa. depending on where you buy lunch from.

AutumnLeaves12 · 27/12/2018 21:51

My favourite frugal discovery of the year has been decanting Persil liquid into a travel shampoo bottle, so I can put a tiny squirt into the washing machine drawer.

It means that I can easily use 10ml instead of accidentally bunging in 50ml from the big bottle.

The other perk of this is that the washing machine no longer gets all gummed up with soap that has failed to rinse out.

Leftovers tea, sausages and bacon chopped and fried up with onion, added turkey stock and brocolli, cream, pasta. Yum. Carcass in the slow cooker making more stock, some for freezer, will also make soup.

Have made ds' draws, so I can start the moving things jigsaw. His clothes have been 1/2 in the girls room and half in a laundry basket in ours for ages years. So, toddler toys can go (anyone want some toot toot car track?) and he can have big boy draws. I'm going to repaint his room as a submarine and deep water. Easy as his room is 6 foot square. Will buy some sticker decals from amazon.

Am weary, but I did drive right over to Gateshead today.

I'm watching Michael Palin in North Korea. Is it wierd that I still adore him? His 80 days trip shaped my life. Without watching that I would never have known that women could join the merchant navy, I was 13 and knew what I wanted to do!

AutumnLeaves12 · 27/12/2018 22:09

I love this sentence lonely:

I'm going to repaint his room as a submarine and deep water.

You're fantastically artistic.

She is Autumn I secretly hope I know Lonely in RL just so I get to see it. I am slightly flummoxed that I don't with the geography and cycling.

ChristmasSeacow · 27/12/2018 23:04

Do it Lonely, sounds fab! Are your girls still enjoying their redone room?

I too love Michael Palin. And I really enjoyed the North Korea programme, we watched it a few weeks ago. He has a lovely gentle way of drawing people out. I am really fascinated by North Korea anyway - to anyone else who is I’d highly recommend a book by Barbara Demick called Nothing to Envy. She’s a journalist who interviewed a number of North Koreans who’d managed to get out of the country. It’s staggering to hear their stories.

Rather enjoyed Mary Poppins Smile

Happierwithouthim · 27/12/2018 23:40

It's not as good as the original or else not what I'd hyped it up to be in my mind Christmas
*
Lonely* if it's not too outing I'd like to see it too, what kind of bed does he have in a 6' room? Says she who could manage with a 4' bed 5'2.5" but sleep in foetal position Grin

Jam your posts are concise for drinking on an empty stomach. I'd a can of Ritz and shared my box of Butler chocs with dm, dsis & dd

We're all just gone to bed _ I said to ds you looked tired ds, are you? I'm wrecked Mammy, he's only 5, it was super funny Grin
