Hi, can I join you? Started a new job and dropped hours by half in September, as wanted to be around for ds with ASD when he started his uni course.(he lives at home). Need to frugalise as any big expenses are coming out of savings at moment. Going to start doing the envelope thing in January.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/12/2018 14:37

Sit on your hands sneaky 😉

Working again here but it's not as busy today so feel a bit less stressed!!

Nsd at least.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 16/12/2018 14:47

I'm trying Xmas Grin

ememem84 · 16/12/2018 15:03

cag I’m feeling ok about it all now. Shock has gone. Reality has bit that we’re doing this and we’ve panicked about the money side of things. But have left that behind. We will cope with it. Because we have no option. This was obviously meant to be. And yes it’s closer together than I wanted but I’m so grateful that we can do this again.

Just woken up. Had a nice big nap. Back on it now. Have had a couple of late nights and am catching up. Dh came in late on Friday and we had a late ish one last night.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/12/2018 16:06

£1.70 bananas and milk.

Dhs e reward account has 1100 points in 4 days. Mines lagging behind with 500.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/12/2018 16:31

The Aldi Christmas veg is 19p each this year.

AutumnLeaves12 · 16/12/2018 17:04

Welcome Green Grin

I just fell asleep for an hour and a half. Zzzz Now off to orchestra fun. Braced.

LonelyOversharer · 16/12/2018 17:04

MY NATIVITY SET JUST SOLD!!! $100. It is going to Germany in the morning. Yay!!!

Dd1 and I took one for the team. Washed the visla on the patio, he will not get in the bath; then shaved the spaniel. I'm ashamed to say his ears were in a state. He is half the dog he was now. Then we bathed him, he likes the bath. I've been avoiding the job, but feel loads better now it's done. What aren't the dogs self cleaning?? Now they smell great and I smell of dog.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/12/2018 17:06

Hi ^Green*.

Congratulations Lonely.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 16/12/2018 17:08

That's great Lonely Xmas Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/12/2018 17:23

Well done lonely

That's good to know fluffy it's hard to know when to buy it, might try next Sunday although it will be heaving!

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/12/2018 18:04

You can chop and freeze. I do it with carrots all the time. It cooks quicker too.

Wolfcub · 16/12/2018 18:20

Congratulations Lonely, love the dog tales. I’ve been cuddling the dog at my parents this aft and now have a crusty drool patch on my jeans.

Welcome Green

I’m having a cocktail. It has been a hard day for a number of reasons added to which my back is spasming so I need a little light relief.

Wrote a couple of cards I forgot about to post tomorrow

£3 on bacon sandwich and a coffee at the club this morning, I forgot my contigo.

Lunch was at dparents so a saving there. Ds is nattering for tea so might do him some pasta in a bit, he won’t entertain the idea of cheese on toast apparently

I need to re-edit my Christmas ocado order tomorrow. The plan is to finish work for Christmas on Wednesday night and then gut and clean the fridge pre-delivery

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/12/2018 18:20

Great news lonely.
Don't do it sneaky. Also my Aldi didn't have cough mixture. Waste of money anyway imo.

£10 national trust cafe. £18 air museum

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/12/2018 18:21

Fluffy I think you recommended a Vit D Spray - true that no one gets enough sunlight to make Vit D in the UK in Winter.
You could try going naked Wink

Wolfcub · 16/12/2018 18:30

Quite it took me a while to work out animal coloured alpaca. I was reading it that you wanted alpaca coloured wool and were just going to make taller goats or something.

Wolfcub · 16/12/2018 18:32

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/12/2018 18:59

Quite

Ta but no one needs to see my cellulite.

Only pholcocodiene has any hard science behind it Life, I bet it’s cheaper to just buy co-codamol & have the night off.

Taytocrisps · 16/12/2018 19:07

We spent the afternoon clearing all the junk and most of the furniture out of the toy room/teenage hang out. DH got some insulation materials (reduced!) and laid it in the roof above the room. This necessitated cutting a hole in the ceiling which he assures me can be fixed. Hmmmm........ As we suspected, there was no insulation there at all. There's a local workman calling tomorrow to start installing insulation tiles. He's promised us it will just take a few days and he'll be finished by next weekend. The house is a bit chaotic atm because there's stuff and furniture from the room everywhere. It's a lot of work and that's just one room. I was thinking of Cag and em and how much work must have been involved in clearing out a whole house! And with a baby on board! Respect!! In the New Year we'll order a skip and get rid of some stuff and then paint the room. Then we'll order a nice sofa and cabinet of some description to hold DD's board games and Lego creations. Ikea is probably our best bet. And DD wants to get a big Harry Potter poster.

Happierwithouthim · 16/12/2018 19:28

Dc went to a birthday party - so they were fed. Got an Indian for myself & au pair €22.90 I'm a bit hungover now but wasn't all day so didn't appreciate Indian have half left for tomorrow's lunch.

Happierwithouthim · 16/12/2018 19:36

Dc planned to buy a fur real each out of DD's piggy bank, I didn't realise what they were talking about. There were only two left in Aldi & turned out they were €25 each she had €24 so ds got none & was very upset. I spotted a friend shopping & gave her the money to buy the other one & Santa's going to bring it to ds, he'll be thrilled. Just writing letters to Santa now.
It helps to balance out the gifts too.
