Nsd yesterday. Meeting friend for lunch today and might pick up some bits in the Bodyshop with the 40% off code. Do you think anyone actually pays full price in there anymore?

em I only ever go to the hairdresser when I’m going out or on holiday. I hate to waste the only time my hair is straight and looking nice. Most of the time it’s tied up in a messy bun

ememem84 · 09/11/2018 11:42

born mine is resembling a bit of a birds nest. Or was. Now it’s super straight and shiny.

I’m a wash it twice once a week and the rest of the time rely on dry shampoo and messy bun. I realised it needed doing the other day though when I released it from said dry shampoo messy bun and it stayed atop my head...#grim

Have made another appointment For a blow dry before my Christmas party.

Also £32 on aftershave for dh for Christmas and a ton of samples too. Yippee.

ememem84 · 09/11/2018 11:44

Have also texted friends in desperation to see if they’re free tonight. I was so looking forward to a g&t where I don’t have to wrestle ds.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/11/2018 12:09

Has he acquired a taste for them already?.

Right I don’t think there’s much left that’s not clean so long as you don’t count ds’s room, the stair carpet which I can’t do easily so ds will be bribed to do it and my bedroom carpet.

Ds has lots of commitments this weekend so I will tackle the ironing then.
Need to draw some money out to pay for nails later

ememem84 · 09/11/2018 13:55

Haha ds wants everything that isn’t his! Haha.

Thatsnotmybaby · 09/11/2018 16:13

DD is going through that phase too @ememem84, it's so annoying Hmm.

Updated spends from yesterday:
£40 diesel
£6 lunch

AutumnLeaves12 · 09/11/2018 16:22

I went and blew an amount of money on a new clarinet mouthpiece and barrel today. I have them to test until next week.

We’ve done vaccinations this afternoon.

And ds took 5 steps. but it didn’t happen at our house and dh wasn’t here to see it so it doesn’t count

ememem84 · 09/11/2018 16:33

We’ve also climbed into grandmas side table. Ffs.

Same with my DD too Em and Thats! She mugged me for one of my itsu seaweed thins yesterday - I thought she’d spit it straight back out but she ate about half the packet, making ‘mmmmmmmm’ noises as she did so HmmGrin

Trying to get lots of work done today but not really succeeding due to various domestic chores impinging. I’ll have to work over the weekend a bit, tricky as we’re staying with friends on Saturday night.

Ocado coming later, £112. More than usual.

AutumnLeaves12 · 09/11/2018 17:12

That's a great age for clambering Em.

My ds used to march up and down in the bath, refusing to sit down, and then try to climb out of the window, which was a small one open only at my head height, when he was meant to be going to sleep at bedtime. He wasn't really into sitting or lying down.

Take care of yourself there if you can. It's an intense business caring for a toddler.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/11/2018 17:40

Evening all, it's a stormy night here!

Another busy day at work, so glad it's Friday! Lsd 87p on a drink.

Wolfcub · 09/11/2018 18:21

Sea would you share your meal plan because you are spending about the same as I am for 2 so I must be doing something wrong. Can I be cheeky and ask you how many days and whether that’s three meals a day or not? Tell me to naff off if that’s really nost

Wolfcub · 09/11/2018 18:21

Nosy

Wolfcub · 09/11/2018 18:24

£15 ASOS for T-shirt for ds for non uniform day as he had nothing that meets the dress code and he needs men’s sizing

Unescorted · 09/11/2018 18:34

Walking, talking, climbing children...... It seems no time since it was maternity central here.

Lonely I am loving the knitted nativity.

I am busy writing and learning my stand up set - hence my absence after the courier rant of the other day. It is hard to learn as it requires spot on memory of the word sequence.... Otherwise the laugh point is in the wrong place.

Sea I still have dd's handpainted fruit bowl. It and the bird she did in primary school are 2 of my most treasured things. I would re-enter a burning building to save them along with he photo she took of DS when they were 5 and 2 respectively- even at that age she had the eye to get it on the thirds with a leading line.

SneakyGremlins · 09/11/2018 18:56

Pasta with sweetcorn and hotdogs for dinner! Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/11/2018 18:57

£6 Aldi
£3 Sainsburys 30p will come back from topcashback for the kidney beans.

Got my swipe and win vouchers scanned £17.50, a £10 amazon voucher from media cells app came through, and I’ve got £10 in valued opinions.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/11/2018 19:15

Ha ha, don’t mind at all Wolf! This week is a bit of a mix though - I’ve spent quite a bit stocking up on offers (Itsu seaweed thins for one - expensive but a healthy snack) and bought less meat than normal. But we are away overnight tomorrow and taking wine etc.

But I estimate I normally spend £90-100ish on Ocado. That’s 3 meals a day for me and DD but not lunches for DH or DS. That said, my mum stays for 2 days pw and that’s 3 meals a day for her. I buy some bread separately (local baker that dh prefers) and I buy fruit separately. That’s maybe another £20-25 per week. So I’m not doing too well really! But we do eat meat most days.

This week isn’t typical so the meal plan we are just finishing is this (I spent 85ish last week but no nappies or cleaning stuff as it happened):

Sat - sirloin steak, wedges, peas
Sun - beef stifado with pasta and broccoli (big batch, saved half for freezer)
Mon - salmon and Thai butternut squash bake, sugar snap peas
Tues - pork and udon stir fry with peppers
Wed - chilli con carne, rice (chillli from freezer)
Thurs - omelette (back late)
Fri - harissa chicken, rice and spinach

Lunches for me are usually Leftovers, scrambled eggs or jacket and beans, or sometimes I make a batch of soup or rice salad to last a few days (not managed that this week though - work 🙄). Dd tends to also eat soup, boiled egg, sometimes mackerel pate or cream cheese on crackers. Breakfasts are cereal, toast, cheap fruit like bananas, blueberry pancakes on a Sunday. DS’s dinners are usually pasta with a batch cooked sauce, dd has that sometimes or she has a bit of our dinner from the previous night (we eat later).

I don’t really buy anything pre-prepared and very little processed stuff for meals. Not too much in the way of snacks either - we don’t usually buy crisps, biscuits etc. Once a week or so I bake something (last week it was chocolate fairy cakes with buttercream icing) and they last most of the week. Puddings and snacks are usually fruit - I buy naice soft fruit but also find a £2 mini watermelon lasts us 3 days. I haven’t bothered with baby snacks or food either as DD rejected most things anyway. So I think the ‘extra’ I spend on meals is probably offset by the lack of snacky stuff. We waste a bit more than I would like but I’m making a real effort with that.

Phew, that’s an essay! Sorry for boring the rest of you Grin

TGIF!

Ah that’s lovely Unescorted. One of my ddad’s most cherished possessions was a wonky clay pig my sister made at primary school ❤️

ememem84 · 09/11/2018 20:02

Crazy windy here today. Storm force 8 apparently. Coast road is closed due to super high tides and strong winds.

Bornlazy · 09/11/2018 20:09

Cute picture em he is getting so grown up

Had a spendy day today: £9 in Primark, got fleecy Friends pyjamas reduced to £7 and some Christmas earrings, £12 in New Look - they have 25% off everything , and £96 in M&S they had 20% off with sparks card. I also got nine lasagne and spaghetti bolognese in M&S for £10.50 as I had 50% off ready meals on my sparks card - they've actually got some bargains in the food bit at the moment with money off quite a few things like chicken and mince. Spent £32 and got loads should last at least a week (or two weeks if you believe in the Mumsnet chicken Grin)
