without, I mean.

ememem84 · 17/11/2018 19:30

I am in the bath. A bubbly. Lavendary. Hot bath. This hasn’t happened for a long time. I also have a face mask on.

Ds is in bed.

Dh is watching the rugby. It’s on at the same time as strictly. Gah. He made dinner. Then moaned about ds having to go to bed to he can watch the rugby. Ds and I watched the first bit of strictly. Ds “danced” to ms Estefan. Kid loves shaking his body and doing the conga. The rhythm got him.

After my bath I’m going to head to bed with a g&t and maybe a book. 😱

Or may just internet browse.

Or I may just have a camomile tea.

Either way. About 2 hours all to myself. Yippee.

SnugglySnerd · 17/11/2018 19:32

I think I might not Google that actually Fluffy! I know what you're saying though.

Spendy day. Did lots of Xmas shopping. I'm on top of it at the moment.

AutumnLeaves12 · 17/11/2018 19:37

Em that sounds like bliss. You so very much deserve it.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/11/2018 19:47

Sea, m and s had bras that went up to a H cup, and J online if that helps you.
John Lewis didn't have any curvy kate in store.

ememem84 · 17/11/2018 19:58

Am out of bath. Glass of red (little to no tonic in the house) in my jammies and in bed.

£56 boots online of Clinique gift set for dsis and a ysl touché eclat for her too.

Am trying to get on top of Christmas. No idea what to buy dparents. But have time.

The Clinique gift set is super good value. £35 reduced from £70. And includes 3 full sizes. Yay.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/11/2018 20:17

Just spent £30 online at a place called herb on the Hill, I saw lots of reviews that their headache balm is meant to have near miraculous results so have bought some! Also ended up getting a couple of things for my mum for Christmas.

Enjoyed strictly, they all seemed good.

AutumnLeaves12 · 17/11/2018 20:21

Will you tell us if it works Girlie? A friend of mine struggles with migraines and she got her hair cut short after people here said it helped, but no luck. All tips gratefully received.

ememem84 · 17/11/2018 20:24

Playlist. (Or the top three so far)

Carrie Underwood - before he cheats. I love this. Love a bit of country me. Dh and I were toying with going to Nashville this year (before ds was thought about obviously....)

Kula shaker - let love be with you

Big and rich - save a horse (ride a cowboy)

AutumnLeaves12 · 17/11/2018 20:27

Very nice. I'm steeped in Eva Cassidy courtesy of Youtube just now.

If you like country music, do you know Jenny Tolman? I think she's quite new but good.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/11/2018 20:33

Sold some bits on eBay but not much.
Fantastic beasts is very good. £11 snacks, £10 take out on top of £92 Aldi and Iceland but still need Sainsbury's, £10 riding, £2 footy, £2 parking.

Go for it wolf, treasure the day.
Sounds lovely em
Have recorded strictly, will watch tomorrow
Sounds like a lovely afternoon lonely.

Justanothermile · 17/11/2018 20:39

We saw DS today for the first time today in 6 weeks. The difference in him is unbelievable. He's always been a quiet, under confident soul but he's matured massively, even his body language is relaxed. He's chatty, easy going and loving university life. Doing well, had some impressive early marks, hasn't missed a lecture (and he has 3 9am ones) and has already sorted out accommodation for next year with his mates at £90 a week including bills for a house close to the centre of Lancaster.

He's been out a fair bit too...

He's even changed his bedding twice!

Treated him to a meal out, which was £45 and stocked him back up with posher food that he can't afford.

He's paid his own deposit for the house of £200.

I'm a fairly chill parent, but have fussed DS a bit much at times. Doing everything for himself has been the making for him.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/11/2018 21:15

That's great jam you just be really proud of him, you've done a fab job.

SnugglySnerd · 17/11/2018 21:20

You must be really proud of him Jam

Bornlazy · 17/11/2018 21:31

Jam that must be such a relief. I know you knew he was ok, but to see him growing and finding his place in life must make you so proud. Its all we want really as parents.

em I have just asked Alexa to play Diamonds on the soles of her shoes - love that song!!!

NursieBernard · 17/11/2018 21:57

Jam You must be so proud of your DS. My eldest DS will hopefully be off to Uni in Sept so I have this all to come.

I had a bit of a spendy day today, most of it was on Christmas presents apart from £9.50 on lunch with friends. I really enjoyed lunch, it was nice to catch up with friends that I hadn't seen in a while.

Hopefully NSD tomorrow, although that's because it will be spent catching up on housework!

northender · 17/11/2018 22:03

That's great Jam, it'll be a relief for you.
Em that sounds like a lovely, chilled out evening
Wolf I don't blame you at all for making the most of ds being on good form. Enjoy.
Frustrating day here. Have studied a lot but don't seem to have got very far so I'll try again tomorrow.

ememem84 · 17/11/2018 22:11

autumn I’d not heard her before. Love it though

northender · 17/11/2018 23:50

I love Paul Simon too.

AutumnLeaves12 · 18/11/2018 06:12

My nice conductor man suggests that I rent a cello so dh can come to orchestra too. I'm thinking that that may be a good idea for family cohesion maybe. Or maybe not. I am going to go and find out what it costs to rent a cello I think as we're to play ds's music tonight in the orchestra. #nonFrugalMission

SnugglySnerd · 18/11/2018 06:23

Just as the dts' sleep is starting to improve dd1 has started waking up in the night. She keeps coming and asking me to put her duvet back on as it has fallen off. I'm tempted to staple the bloody thing to the mattress when I took her in!

AutumnLeaves12 · 18/11/2018 06:26

I think staples would be entirely reasonable Snuggly. Maybe she could have one of those old-style candlewick bedspreads to anchor it in place? The sort that hang down right to the ground and are heavy.

ememem84 · 18/11/2018 07:22

snuggly could you use a bigger duvet?

Dm uses double duvets on single beds and kings on double beds. She thinks it looks neater. Because the ends hang over you can tuck them under the mattress?

Although saying that not sure how old dd is so maybe not in a big bed yet?

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/11/2018 07:33

Ah that's fab jam

Blankets and sheets snugg. Tuck them in tight. Failing that staples are probably more frugal.

AutumnLeaves12 · 18/11/2018 07:38

My ds is still in his own bed and it's been ten days now. My face feels weird from all the sleep. Halo
