Well done Lonely, how’s your blister? We recently redecorated ds2’s room and although it’s far from perfect it is so much better than it was. I keep looking at it and thinking why didn’t I do this ages ago?

mammynowanauntyIRL · 25/10/2018 06:11

Checking in, read all yesterday's posts but not got time for catch up post now.

Spends €10.71 cinema ticket to a star is born, incl 10% members disc, amazing movie €5 on kids tray there. Refuse to spend €4.30 on choc or ice cream there so my wallet & mfp were pleased with that Grin

Transferred to two smallest cards to clear
€896.15 and €886.13. Will send letter to kbc to close card today, going to keep PTSB for now. €2500 going against UB card today & keeping €277.77 back for next payment date as it is coming around soon & some cards extra payments during month don't count. That'll brings that card down to under €1000 so I'll owe that at interest & €4560 interest free for 9 months.

Will need fuel again as driving 8 hours return trip for funeral sat. Will bring breakfast in car, and buy lunch out & then going to a friends for tea/dinner on way home. With it being sat I'm not using a days holidays so I'm happy about that Grin

Today is payday so YNAB day Grin

AutumnLeaves12 · 25/10/2018 06:37

Born I need to repaint a lot of our house too. I should do it I suppose. Whenever I paint I find that a bit of dust sheet moves at just the wrong moment and I end up with paint on something I shouldn't. It's more excitement than a person wants really. Well done on your decorating.

We're on day 3 of holiday now and today apparently definitely this music course, so I'm about to do the epic cooking again. Hopefully the electricity will stay on today.

Autumn I am curious, what does the epic cooking consist of?

thistimenextsummer · 25/10/2018 07:28

💖🍰😍 happy 1st birthday to cagletini! Such a special day - enjoy!

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/10/2018 07:38

cag Happy birthday to Rowan. I hope she enjoys her day.

ememem84 · 25/10/2018 07:58

Happy birthday squishes to cagletini love from miniems xx

LonelyOversharer · 25/10/2018 08:08

Oh cag happy birthday to your little Rowan. What a year! I send you lots of love and best wishes xx

I put a blister plaster on, it just about did the trick. We used the whole bag of the top skim, so the plastering of 1.5 walls cost me about £30. I mean a real jobbing plasterer would very probably laugh his ass off at my efforts, but a real one does not live here. Or they would have done my walls for me.

Right, pets done, must get my little girls up and to Grandmas, here is my 2.5 day window to decorate as much as I can, build thier new beds (coming today) and throw as much of their crap out as I can!

Will detour to Aldi to see about a giant sloth curse you aldi isle of doom thread and b&q for wood filler and a ceiling paint (forgotten).

northender · 25/10/2018 08:36

Quick post, will catch up properly at the weekend.
Having a fab week away with friends. It has been very frugal so far as we've eaten in every night and the weather has been kind so most daytime stuff has been free and outdoorsy. Going to the races today, £10 admission each for me and dh, dc are free. Then a small betting kitty. Final night tonight so eating out.

northender · 25/10/2018 08:37

Of course, Happy Birthday Cagletini!

ememem84 · 25/10/2018 08:53

lonely I am amazed you even attempted plastering. Not something I’d do.

I’ve done tiling and am a dab hand at painting. But I draw the line at plastering.

Today I have to put curtain rails up....

LonelyOversharer · 25/10/2018 10:21

Dropped girls off. £14 aldi, one massive sloth for dd2 in the car. £25 b&q duck egg for the ceiling, wood filler, etc.

Just emptying the room. The beds are here, in deceptively tiny boxes Confused.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 25/10/2018 11:06

Happy Birthday to your dd cag, hope you all have a wonderful day.

Lonely, that plastering looks great!

Off out to town, have a great day everyone.

CurlsandCurves · 25/10/2018 11:15

Happy birthday mini Cag! 🎊🎁🎉🎂

mammy love your post, all sounds really organised and getting things under control, I love that feeling.

One remortgage completed, £135 back on it received, so that’s my new glasses paid for.

I spent some time last week registering with Slater and Gordon for their action against VW on the emissions scandal. Our car was affected. It’s no win no fee so for the time it’s taken to complete a few online forms it’s worth a shot.

Very spendy week here. We are going to a relatives big birthday party on Friday. So that’s a gift and a night in a hotel. And 2 of my cousins also turn 21 around the same time so that’s 2 vouchers for them. And I’ve not bought anything nice to wear for ages, so I got a lovely dress. Nothing expensive, £26. But I love it and there’s a couple of Christmas events I can wear it to. I’ll definitely get my money’s worth out of it.

CurlsandCurves · 25/10/2018 11:17

Nice plastering, Lonely !

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/10/2018 12:52

£53 Waitrose. 4 weeks supply of meat, soya milk for me, baked beans for me. I just need 4 beef mince from Morrison’s. 4 lamb mince are free as it’s short dated. Hopefully I’ll get a Lidl fruit and veg box tomorrow morning.

Girlie I will try Aldi for tuna. Not bought it for ages.

It’s the Sainsbury’s nectar swipe and win tm. I’m leaving early tomorrow to beat the scrum.

SnugglySnerd · 25/10/2018 12:57

Found you all! Sorry I've been awol. It's crazy busy here lately.

Thanks for new thread Wolf and happy birthday Cagletini!

Cagliostro · 25/10/2018 13:58

Hi all, thank you for the birthday wishes for baby dinosaur :o just grabbing a few minutes of quiet before everyone else gets home, I used taxis today in the interests of pacing (there was a lot of walking in the animal place already) so I’m home first. Family friend visiting soon then DSCs later for buffet cake and games!

AutumnLeaves12 · 25/10/2018 14:31

Happy birthday Cageltini!

Born ds and myself have two different exclusion diets. So I have to do a lot of hot meals from scratch (no cereal and milk for us in the morning), and two different ones at the same time at that. Today and yesterday I had to do breakfast and packed lunches at the same time. with only two rings and a microwave.

Anyway, today went well (so far). I did my cooking extravaganza. The electricity stayed on. We went to the course and we were the only ones there. So we got 1-2-1 music teaching for four hours for £50, which was pretty amazing really. And also very enjoyable.

The rental cottage is quite cheap too as we got one night free for beta-testing the plumbing. (£180 now for three nights)

We may have spent rather a lot in the co-op and M&S food shop but I am very happy as a result. I have had steak and salmon fillets and bacon two days running. shameless

I kept all the receipts, but in the chaos I'm not sure where I put them.

AutumnLeaves12 · 25/10/2018 14:43

I found the receipts and we have spent £87 on food in three days including one meal out. It was very tasty.

ememem84 · 25/10/2018 15:06

Unpacked. Mostly.

I’ve decluttered loads for charity shop. Binned a lot. And ddad has weeded the garden and dug up the tree stump. I am exhausted.

As a thanks (and a Keep on helping me please) I treated them to lunch at the pub nearby. £17 for three meals. A chicken bacon and leek pie, fish and chips and a chicken burger. Yum. And pub points for me. Yippee.

Just have to clear out our room from dparents now and we’re moved in.

Thatsnotmybookworm · 25/10/2018 16:47

Thanks for new thread @WereWolfcub, belatedly.

Spends yesterday:
£6 hoodie for DS, I always find his dressing gown on the floor five mins after I put it on him, so I want to start putting him in hoodies over his PJs on winter mornings and evenings.
£5 beef for a lovely slow cooker beef curry
£6 new hat for DD, as she needs a new one that can be tied on as she pulls the others off.
£3 squash for me to keep at my desk at work.

Today NSD for me,
although DH went to the local shop for bread and a couple of other things.

kitkat6 · 25/10/2018 16:58

Busy few days on the thread. It has been pretty quiet here with no unexpected spends for a nice change.

Talk about the different supermarkets made me smile. We use Ocado delivery pass, shop probably would be cheaper at Aldi or Lidl if I had the self discipline now to enter the aisle of stuff and walk out having spent £40 more than intended plus I would take DS2 with me who then wants everything in the shop. Ocado I found to have the best offers and also the easiest site to navigate.
