Oh I love your DH @takeitslow; what a lovely thing to say.

Spends today
£2 work canteen
£58 New Look on a pair of earrings, a pair of shoes and a pair of boots. Either the shoes or boots will go back and possibly both; I need to try them on with an outfit at home. I think New Look has gotten quite expensive; that said, they have some lovely bits in at the minute. I saw a lovely pair of casual boots; I might be tempted by them if both pairs I bought today go back.

WreckTangled · 06/09/2018 15:11

Oh my goodness lonely thank you so much! Dd and ds are going to be thrilled! Ds because I will now let him take his bike to the bus stop before school Grin I promise I will pay it forward

Seacow that's really shit but someone better and less flaky will come along

ChristmasSeacow · 06/09/2018 15:24

That is a lovely thing to say Take !

And thanks for the encouragement re. Nanny. I know it will probably work out for the best, I just need to lick my wounds and think creatively.

Girlie I just had naproxen and I also took an occasional top up of paracetamol. It wasn’t really enough as I was in fairly severe pain for the first 3 weeks or so but I didn’t tolerate cocodamol at all well so had to stop taking it. I just kept moving even though I didn’t really want to - but definitely not straining myself or lifting - and it did eventually ease. I do worry that I am probably just one awkward movement off a relapse though. Have you thought about trying a tens machine or similar? I didn’t think of it at the time until I was on the mend but would defo have tried it (and will next time)

Speaking of relapses, dd wants to walk round and round again holding onto both of my hands ALL THE TIME. She stands next to me and says ‘mummy, mummy, help, hold, hold!’ so how can I refuse? Please send ‘walking vibes’ to her though as the sooner she can do it by herself the better!

Wolfcub · 06/09/2018 15:35

Christmas do you have a push along walker for her? The one I linked for Em the other day was great for ds as he was taking doggy for a walk. Might give your arms a rest

ChristmasSeacow · 06/09/2018 15:42

Wolf I meant to say - we have one really like that. She loves it, giggles and woofs at it and kisses it but doesn’t get that she’s meant to walk with it 🙄. We also have a brio tray one with bricks in - again, she won’t push it!

QuitelovesStrictly · 06/09/2018 15:49

I was going to suggest a push along walker.
I just could not do that with mine due to the pain and stress on the joints/neck/shoulder nor constantly pick them up due to slipped discs
They were fine and I figured it would be far worse if I was bed bound or completely out of action.
Wavering against a soup maker as I do tend to do it in batches the Fluffyway.

WreckTangled · 06/09/2018 16:21

School clubs letter home. Dd currently having a meltdown because I said no to knitting club as it's £45 for five weeks. Ffs. She also wants to do recorder at £16.50 for 1/2 hour each week. Again it was a no. Ridiculous and a great way to make you feel like a shit parent

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/09/2018 16:28

They shouldn't tell the children, they should just email the parents.

NSD.

You probably don't need one Quite. Born and I don't like cooking so gadgets help.

Cagliostro · 06/09/2018 16:31

Swap you some walking vibes for some talking vibes seacow in spite of myself I’m feeling a bit anxious about the difference between her physical development and her speech sounds. She’s got her 9-12m check on the 18th

OP posts:
ChristmasSeacow · 06/09/2018 16:51

Gosh Cag she’s not even one yet, I’d think it’s way early to be concerned, though I totally understand if you are given that you are naturally on alert. I am hyper-vigilant too. However, I wouldn’t have been worrying about lack of actual words till 15m +, although I would have been definitely watching! Is she babbling /waving /pointing? I was looking for those signs first but even then, any time up to a year is within the normal window I believe.

We’ll never stop Worrying though, whatever they do! Flowers

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 06/09/2018 17:07

There's no way I could do the stooping over walking thing seacow even without the neck pain! I'd keep encouraging her with the push along toys...

My plan to get better is to keep moving but rest as well, massage on Sunday, physio on Monday and pilates starts back Monday as well. Fingers crossed it starts to work....

That's naughty of the school wreck The knitting club one is ridiculous! ! I'd email the school and ask how they justify that tbh.

I want to marry your dh sunny 😉 how did you meet him again? I depressed myself by looking on an online dating site, it's slim pickings out there 😒

WreckTangled · 06/09/2018 17:27

Girlie they have someone from outside coming in so I suppose they pick the price

Bornlazy · 06/09/2018 17:33

Made vegetable broth today. This took 28 minutes as it’s not blended. Promise I’ll stop with the soup talk soon 😂 Not that I’m trying to enable anyone but it doesn’t take up much room as it’s not much bigger than a kettle.

Sea how could you resist your DD 😍

ememem84 · 06/09/2018 18:09

love take yeah....I’ve not mastered hair either. I’m 33 and cannot do a French plait. I wear my hair in one of the following ways:

  • down and straight (thanks ghd’s!)
  • ponytail - high and either straight or just its usual wavy self
  • messy bun (ie can’t be arsed to brush it so pile it up spray with dry shampoo and secure with a million hairbands)
  • in a half up half down style. Either straight or wavy.

My hair has a natural wave but I can’t tame it. No matter how hard I try. I’d love to learn a cute style but I have neither the time patience or inclination to dick about with hair spray pins and a million different products. If I need a hair up for an event I pay for it.

I think ds has inherited my lions mane hair genes. Poor kid. But he’s lucky he’s a girl. Mummy is shit at hair. So I’d struggle with anything fancier than a ponytail. Dm never showed me. She has a pixie cut. Maybe I should ask her....

I’ve been home for ages. I left work at 445. To tidy before dparents came home. Realised this morning that Dh has (again) gotten away with doing nothing to help with the cleaning. How did I let him get away with that?!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 06/09/2018 18:23

I'm brilliant at doing hair, I can do French plaits and lots of lovely styles and have ended up with a dd who won't let me anywhere near her beautiful hair!! My own hair is also untamable (new word?!) I'm known as 'problem hair' at the hairdressers 😂

LonelyOversharer · 06/09/2018 18:24

No worries wreck I've been meaning to post to you for aaages. Thats totally unnecessary about the knitting club. I'd happily do that for nothing. So would most folk I know. A dozen small pairs of needles, say two dozen balls of yarn (if even new) no more than £45. So unless it's 1:1 that's stupid.

So I'm contemplating a wool wearehouse purchase...for context the pic is what I am sitting right by as I type...the boxes are 60l ones Blush

WreckTangled · 06/09/2018 18:26

I can do DD's hair nicely but can't do my own. I usually have my hair in a messy bun, down and straight, side plait, side bun, pony tail, spiral pony tail, down with curly ends (using ghds)

Bornlazy · 06/09/2018 18:38

I think hairstyles look different on everyone depending on the shape of your head and face. I have quite a broad forehead so if I try to do hair up with sweeping fringe it looks a bit bizarre, yet I see loads of people carrying it off. I wear my hair up all the time in a uncombed riot messy bun as I can't be arsed doing anything with it. I like my hair off my neck, not so people can see the shape off it, but because I'm a sweaty menopausal wreck. if I do go to the bother of straightening it to wear it down it doesn't take long for the sweats to make it curly again Sad

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/09/2018 18:40

Ah wolf. Let me know next time. We will have coffee

QuitelovesStrictly · 06/09/2018 18:43

£45 Shock per child .
Crikey 10 kids =£450 .
Lonely we could team up and make a killing Grin
You can bring the yarn Wink
£16.50 for recorder lessons Confused it was free at our school !
Im going to go against the grain here though #brave.
School club letters always came home with the DC and sometimes you have to say no and they have to learn that they cant do everything.
Mine were restricted to one thing/activity only and so they had to really think what they wanted to do.
Saying no. can. do doesnt make you a bad parent SmileFlowers
Could you compromise with a Learn to Knit book and a nice first knitting set ?

LonelyOversharer · 06/09/2018 18:52

klazon 20% off drops merino today only I think. My basket is currently at £88. Will take some off it, and might not check out. Maybe.

LonelyOversharer · 06/09/2018 18:53

Whats a klazon? I meant KLAXON.

QuitelovesStrictly · 06/09/2018 18:55

Lonely !!!
You dont need anymore yarn #stern
Im waiting for the Alpaca sale Blush

WreckTangled · 06/09/2018 18:57

Quite she can do as many of the free ones as she like! There isn't many though. And she does choir which is £10/term. Plus swimming lessons at £372 a year...

I think I'm just feeling a bit emotional tonight for some reason I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/09/2018 18:57

Do you use any of it? I mean that's a lot. It's like a wool shop.
