Meadow Don't worry about it, as long as you feed her your still doing it right.

Tesco was flogging all it's bargain aisle stuff so I got 20 colour catchers 50 p, two 6.8kg washing powders for £2.50 each. Then pita breads for dh as apparently mine are shit. I prefer the term "work in progress".

Then £7 for tomatoes, onions, 100g paprika, 15 eggs, yellow split peas for soups and two packs of beef mince.

There probably confused em cos the chancellor made a dig at lewis Hamilton over his jet in the budget.

Gluten free 300g loaves 50p each on shopmium.

I just got my vitamin D test result back and I managed to get it from 29.9 up to 87 in three months, just on fish and sunshine. Chuffed with that. That's me in tip top vitamin D shape ready for the winter.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/09/2018 14:43

Hello meadow was wondering how you were getting on, the feeding thing feels so all consuming at the time but honestly it really doesn't matter in the great scheme of things.

I've been out this morning to a very local cafe to meet a friend, was nice to catch up. Have made an appointment with the orthopedic people for the 18th of this month so that's good as it doesn't feel too long to wait. Everything is aching now so am confined to the sofa again 😦

Have just bought myself a new hoover 😮 ummed and ahhed for ages and finally got a Dyson v7, I'd of liked a newer model but they are so pricey. This one was £250 and free delivery. With my back/neck/arm so bad I can't use our old hoover anymore so hoping this one will be a lot easier..

£6 cafe
£7 a few bits and a gift

Meadow it’s lovely to see you. I hope you’ve heard the term “Fed is best” as others have said breast or bottle it doesn’t matter so long as you and baby are healthy and happy. My breast milk dried up on Christmas Day when no shops were open, I had a very hungry very small baby until Boxing Day when boots was open!
Girlie I know what you mean about vacuums. I can’t carry mine upstairs I’m sure you can imagine what a state my house is!

WreckTangled · 05/09/2018 16:00

We've got a shark cordless hoover. I LOVE it and it was totally worth all the money Grin

£8 Aldi stocking up on oatie bars.

Bornlazy · 05/09/2018 16:20

Made lentil and bacon soup in the new soup maker. It was so easy and tastes delicious. Have the pressure cooker on doing a clean cycle that you need to do prior to using it then ( if it doesn’t explode in my face) I’m doing the bolognaise for lasagne.

Lovemaltesers · 05/09/2018 16:31

Good to hear from you meadow and agree with the pp who said fed is best.

Struggling to keep up with the thread, but I am reading everyones updates. I'm also trying to cut down on phone screen time (said by the person currently typing away on MN!)

Welcome labrador

Back to school here for DD1 and at work today too. New job is a bit frustrating as I still don't have all the access to systems I need but we're getting there. Day off tomorrow which is very needed.

Going back to work is definitely frugal though. Only recent spends have been supermarket ones. And I am back on the packed lunches and the rest of the family are too! DP made the sandwiches this morning, while I did my hair Grin

Thatsnotmybookworm · 05/09/2018 17:04

Congratulations on your baby @meadow; I'm sorry to hear you have had such a tough time. Hopefully in time you will be able to look back and feel like those weeks were a short period of time before the fun times started (I think its much more fun once they get past the newborn stage anyway!).

Justanothermile · 05/09/2018 18:11

Lovely to hear from you meadow, I've had an absence too. Fed is best. A mum with her MH intact as far as is possible is the best kind.

Welcome labrador.

Crikey born, glad you checked.

quite. I've thought a few times that our parenting styles might well be similar.Smile

Been a long day. Worked all day. NSD.

Justanothermile · 05/09/2018 18:18

Soup looks good born.

Justanothermile · 05/09/2018 18:22

How was your DS this afternoon christmas.

I felt a bit weird this morning, dd was back at school. Into the final year of having kids at school. When she came back in and chatted to me about her day and new timetable, which teachers she'd already hassled etc I realised my whole routine will change.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/09/2018 18:44

Born I'm really glad you like it. Soup is so cheap.

Wolfcub · 05/09/2018 19:04

Has anyone seen the Waitrose/John Lewis full length bohemian rhapsody commercial? Omg all the feels

MischiefManager · 05/09/2018 19:19

Thanks for the support, cant manage to name people from the last page and reply at the same time unfortunately but she’s 21 months. She had the most almighty melt down this evening at about 6.30 and nothing I did could settle her so at 6.50 I decided to try bed. I put her down and she got up and whinged a bit but not too much but put her light on when she always sleeps in the dark. I’ve been up once when she whinged after ten mins and put light off and settled her in her bed again and she got back up when I left had a little cry turned light on again and has been pretty quiet since. I’ll head up in another 10 and check her. Fingers crossed she’s settled and not silently deconstructing her bedroom 😂😂

Born that soup looks delicious.

Spent £6 on nappies and spare dummies.

I am in the Fed is best camp... I had one of each and I can't say I have noticed much different now they are older. Both gobby, messy won't get out of bed ungrateful little shits who I love beyond belief. They love me back when they want something.

Lonely that is a shame. DS rode out of Monaco with Froome & the Sky team when he (DS) did the recreation of the 1955 Tour de France route last summer. They slowed right down to have a chat. They now follow each other on twitter. You are right to like him.. he is a really nice bloke.

Em I thought I dealt with monopoly money.

Unescorted · 05/09/2018 19:33

mischief the art of it is to open 2 tabs with the tread on....write the reply on one as you read on the other. I can't remember who told me that genius way.... My problem is that I close the tab forgetting I have typed out a really long reply.

Well that’s the pressure cooker christened! Made the bolognese and it was a bit watery - had to take it out with a slatted spoon. Tasted good. Hate choppping veg as it really hurts my wrists, have taken to buying frozen onion, mushrooms and mixed peppers.

Meadow nice to see you back.

Unescorted · 05/09/2018 19:38

born use no more than 250ml of liquid. Less if you are using wet ingredients. You can reduce the sauce at the end by putting it on boil like fuck mode.

ememem84 · 05/09/2018 19:39

Plane update. It’s done. I did read the spec and client has chosen a “toffee” coloured interior. It’s awful. But whatever. Their choice. Haha.

Had s wonderful evening with ds. We’ve had dinner (dh “cooked” a pizza - straight from the box), we’ve read a story (10 little monsters), we’ve done some playing - I built towers of blocks, ds knocked them down. We’ve had a tickle war (I won). Chased ds around the table. Getting him changed for bed and he fishhooked my nose (ouch!) then we had another tickle while he was just in his nappy. He lifted a cheek and farted loads. And laughed about it. So he’s learned that from somewhere absolutely definetly not me!

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/09/2018 19:42

I like the sound of toffee....Blush

Dh assures me I have awful taste speccing cars so would no doubt also make a hash of a plane.

QuitelovesStrictly · 05/09/2018 19:44

Born Angry I am > this close to ordering a soup maker .
Go away with your lovely soup Grin

Meadow So lovely to hear from you .
Those early days will soon be a distant memory .Hope you get your appeal sorted out .
Mischief aaaah thats a tricky age ,my DD was a right whatsit helpful
She wanted to do everything -walk everywhere, gave up her nap but of course the drama !
Sometimes fell asleep into her dinner !
She was exceptionally verbal Hmm so made her feelings known .
I think that time between 6-7 is known as the witching hour for good reason .
I often gave her a big hot lunch and then a very quick dinner -scrambled eggs, beans on toast/sandwiches etc as she would "go over" very quickly and then all hell would break loose.
Just I believe in firm boundaries but fairness .
No yelling or bribing just The Look Grin😎

SnugglySnerd · 05/09/2018 19:57

One word to sum up today: exhausted!

I should be planning lessons but I'm just going to read back a little bit first...

QuitelovesStrictly · 05/09/2018 20:00

What soup maker have you got Born ?
asking for a friend

Bornlazy · 05/09/2018 20:02

Quite it is really good Grin The only downside is it doesn’t make loads, mine makes enough for about four medium bowls. The upside is it’s ready in 21 minutes.

em boys never tire of farting.... and talking about farting. I think they are genetically programmed to find it a fabulous source of entertainment.

Unescorted · 05/09/2018 20:07

I love the look I use it at work too.

What does a soup make do that a pressure cooker and stick blender not do....? asks innocently
