Now that I've put that in the title, we will almost certainly get snow. LOL!

Welcome to nearly-August.

Sea I ordered 10 just on case I change my mind and want to do a cardigan instead.
I fancy "Positive Thoughts" but with lots of adjustments and not buttoned so would k it a 32"

I tend to have a good nose at all the finished projects and check out lengths/amounts etc
Lovely way to relax-checking out knits

Laska5772 · 28/07/2018 16:48

we had some rain , during the night but not much , its very windy now here though..

been out gardening and just put a chicken in the oven stuffed with some of our home grown garlic an herbs from garden ..

Was a Cat obstacle course again in the kitchen just now ( he doesn't get fed until 6.30 and although Ive told him wont eat until after him hes not impressed. however he is looking much better and already has a lot of hi sold 'bounce' back

NSD for me but DH has just come back from the co op with Aperol and sodas , after reading about Aperol Spritz in the paper this morning..

So actually its not true what I just said to Dcat . There is some Italian salami in the fridge and some olives.. but you u have to have a little something to eat with an Aperitivo, right?

Ooh househunting again em!! any linkys to post ? (you know how we like to voraciously buy houses for you Grin )

QuiteCleanBandit · 28/07/2018 16:56

My greedy DCat was a grazer Laska
Dvet immediately put him on diet cat food and 2 strict meals per day as he would eat and eat and eat .
Luckily he is now super slim and lively rather than resembling a cushion on.legs.
Very grateful my vets are so proactive .
He has a special feeding word that we use and they head like rockets to the kitchen Grin
Cats are far more trainable than people think .
This week the kitchen has been full of "cat traps" as they press themselves onto the tiles Grin on the heat

ememem84 · 28/07/2018 17:11

laksa yes. We’re possibly 3 weeks away from moving out. Lawyer said mid August.....

Look up red properties. And “grouville” as the area. Then £580k. We looked at that one. It ticks all boxes. although the kitchen smelled of cheese

ememem84 · 28/07/2018 17:28

Have decluttered 2 drawers and my make up/products stash. Nightstand drawer has been emptied into the bed and half it’s contents thrown away. Make up drawer emptied. Cleaned out. Contents “audited”. I bought a new eyeliner. But turns out I had one of the naice Dior ones in my stash. Gah. Never mind. Will use.

Have also ditched my shower puff thing.

Next step:

Seriously start thinking about packing the house.

sunny dh was a bit Hmm when I told him about the car park space price. But agrees it’s money well spent. Pure convenience.

SnugglySnerd · 28/07/2018 17:30

I've also seen a lovely house today (only online). It would be perfect for us. Handy for station, work etc. Needs a lot of decorating but that's ok. Shame we're not in a position to move!

QuiteCleanBandit · 28/07/2018 17:34

£170 a year is nothing em is he mad?

Ooh how exciting you are finally moving !

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/07/2018 17:45

Thanks for thoughts on NYC i have been twice before but 20 years ago! I enjoyed it but tbh it wasn't my favourite place in America. I feel torn though as my mum would love to go and obviously it's such an amazing, generous offer. I think I'd have to take dd as would worry about being that far away from her!! We would go Feb time.

Work day today, managed to catch up on loads of stuff so felt quite productive.

Spent £4 on lunch.

Going to go out again tonight!! Might as well make the most of a child free night, dd back tomos.

The furthest north I drove was to the lake district, felt slightly gaga by 9 hours of motorway driving by the time we arrived!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/07/2018 17:46

A month Quite. It's comparable to what you'd pay in Birmingham.

You need a stock list of makeup em so you don't duplicate.

QuiteCleanBandit · 28/07/2018 17:51

Ooops!Blush I thought it was cheap!
Well not sure what you pay already but you wont have to search and so it will save you time and make life easier .
We pay a flat rate of £3 at work and everyone moans.
I cycle/walk unless it is torrential .

LonelyOversharer · 28/07/2018 17:52

Klaxon quite I just spent £37 on about 50 balls of cotton yarn Blush that I totally needed! Enough dk to reknit my fave ever jacket (hopefully now retro, made back in the 90's) in denim colour, 55p a ball!! And enough aran to knit a crazy intarsia tank top for work, will make this up as I go along. Only sleeves will get ruined (glances at pale green hoodie). Plus enough whites to knit an "all white" nativity set. In different textures and stitches, but all shades of white. Nevermind that I have a crate of white yarn in my lock up Hmm.

Yay seacow - those are my two nearest hobbycrafts! Though the Carlisle one is much nearer to me. Hopefully you are nearly there now.

Picked up dd2. £20 petrol, £26 in sainsburys on seemingly nothing, and £9 in the co-op. Currently slow cooking mince to stuff the courgettes that have turned into marrows for tea.

QuiteCleanBandit · 28/07/2018 18:01

It is very good value Lonely
Lets encourage each other to use it !

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 28/07/2018 19:06

I've got my one ball of knitting wool out of the drawer and am learning to cast on from youtube. I now have 12 stitches. Smile

quite £170 a month.... we currently pay between £7.50 and 9 a day (depending on how early we get in - we pay by the hour from 8-5 after 5 is free). So average it out at about £8 a day. But no guaranteed space. Also “they” are systematically turning all the longstay carpark into 3 hour ones. So.... it’s a no brainier.

fluffy I do need to make a list. Off the top of my head I have:

-3 eyeshadow palletes

  • 4 single eyeshadows
  • 6 mascaras (4 Black one burgundy and one purple)
  • 11 eye liners (black, blue, white, green pencils, black felt tips, gold and pale pink chunky crayon ones)
  • 3 lipsticks (I don’t wear lipstick often...)
  • 4 foundations (two powder and two liquid)
Various highlighters Primers (eyes, skin) Eyebrow pencil 7 bar soaps 3 moisturisers Body oil Hair oil Hair serum Coconut hair balm 4 cleansers 4 foot creams 3 body scrubs 4 toothpastes Eye serum Day moisturiser x3 (two full size one travel size) Night moisturiser x3 (as above) Hand cream x 2 (full size and a travel size) 5 lip balms

So I’m good for a while!!

LonelyOversharer · 28/07/2018 19:22

em wow! But then I could make a list of all the craft stuff in my immediate vicinity and it would be about the same, but different. I have two deoderants, about 6 perfumes, a lip balm and moisturiser in the car and a hand cream my sister got me.

Stuffed marrow was ace. Used a small pack of beef and a pack of pork mince. Was light and tasty. Made twice too much, so a tea for next week too (will freeze).

sunny knitting is like therapy. It occupies both your brain and your hands, but leaves enough space to watch telly, or listen to an audio book (I'm loving being read to...using up my credits so I can cancel the subscription).

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 28/07/2018 19:38

It's a good idea lonely. I'm listening to music on youtube while knitting and watching the weather, and it's nice.

Em I still just have the one bottle of Johnson's baby shampoo, which I still also use to wash the bathroom. I think between us, we balance each other out. Enjoy your lovely make up collection. Smile

It's tipping it down with rain here and we have put the heating on in our lodge as it is chilly and we only packed summer pjs and no dressing gowns

But we had a lovely day here. And only spent about £30 which isn't too bad

WreckTangled · 28/07/2018 20:14

We're off to bath in the morning. Will be spendy but dh can pay.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/07/2018 20:14

Oh the greatest showman is fab. Dh for out when he took something back to Sainsbury's. Loved it.

Nice house em. Is it a semi? Will it be ok for work, nursery and family?

Thatsnotmybookworm · 28/07/2018 20:44

I don't know if I would be brave enough to put my list of cosmetics in print @ememem84! I'm better than I used to be though; I buy less and I buy more budget ranges (and do an annual clearout which helps too!).

Spends today:
£20 lunch out.
£27 Amazon on back up comforters for DD (getting ahead on that one) and a replacement library book.

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 28/07/2018 21:05

I seem to have knitted a piece of hall carpet. I was not expecting that.

OP posts:
QuiteCleanBandit · 28/07/2018 21:07

It would take me a week to find all mine em
Love make up
Comforting myself that its not paid for on CC and when Brexit hits Ill be smugly selling lipsticks round the back of the shed WinkGrin
Do you really clean the bathroom with baby shampoo Sunny or are my reading skills really doomed ?

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 28/07/2018 21:08

This is my piece of carpet. I think the wool is too thick and the needles are too thin. It's also far too scratchy to be a scarf. I think there is more to this knitting lark than meets the eye.

QuiteCleanBandit · 28/07/2018 21:09

Oh fab Sunny
There are patterns for wash cloths etc if you want to try that.
Get some pure cotton yarn

QuiteCleanBandit · 28/07/2018 21:10

It usually says on the ball band which size needles .
DK (Double knitting) is probably a good start -4mm needles usually.
