Em I am sure there will be a blog somewhere that tells you you can live for 100 years just eating lettuce Grin

wolf probably!! Or a million “just lettuce” recipe ideas on Pinterest....

However. I like other flavours with my lettuce. And although we’ve got two different kinds and some rocket I can’t just eat leaves! I am not a rabbit. Haha!

So instead I’ll be going and buying something yummy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/07/2018 08:37

Green jinn have 40p off a small punnet of nectarines, so half price, in sainsburys.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/07/2018 08:56

Morning all, that does sound tough cag I've been there with anxiety and it's really shit. Hope you have a better day today.

I've got a day off as dd has another hospital appointment, her hearing has deteriorated so they are checking her out more regularly 😕

Need to pop to aldi has have no milk, bread etc but shouldn't spend too much.

Orangecake123 · 16/07/2018 09:55

Thank you for all the welcomes!

SunnyLikeThursday · 16/07/2018 09:58

Good luck Girlie. I hope they have good ideas to help.

My ds is back at school again but still a bit under the weather from that bug. I think it was a bit of a fierce one as I'm still carrying it around too. Hopefully they will have a quiet week and he can recover a bit.

Orangecake123 · 16/07/2018 10:03

Brilliant restraint Sunny!

SunnyLikeThursday · 16/07/2018 10:05

Thanks orange. I'm trying to manage an NSD, but I'm a bit rubbish at that. There always seems to be something. This morning I've posted a parcel already, so that's today out.

Flappyjack · 16/07/2018 10:33

Morning frugaleers.

Hi orange

Sunny I am going to try the fizzy drink trick because I have had a few bouts of anxiety lately with one thing and another.

£23 adidas tracksuit (Ds1), £9 sandals (ds2), £9 faded black jeggings and £15 work shirt (me) all in the next sale on Saturday.

£48 school uniform for DS1. Unfortunatly I had to put this one on the credit card because I didn't realize my company does not pay sick and I was off last month and now my finances are out of whack. I can't wait to start my new job - just waiting for references to come through #hurrythefuckup

£4 something on lunch at work yesterday because I had nothing to pack, not even lettuce em.

I called into the pound shop earlier actually looking for something to buy...emotional spending much. Thankfully I came to my senses.

Sending everyone happy money vibes today.

I'll be interested to know what you find flappy. I think we're meant to drink it through a straw to save our teeth and aim for as close to plain carbonated water (Perrier water or similar, not water that's made fizzy in some other way) as we can, so it's not full of sugar and sweeteners and things.

As far as I can tell, the thing is to have a bit every day to keep the system in balance rather than gulping down a lot when we are feeling frazzled.

So roughly speaking, the thing is to take time, once a day, to have a quiet sit, with the some carbonated water to drink, and do a bit of quiet reflecting.

This all only applies to people who suffer from chronic hyperventilation, but I gather that a lot of people do a bit, especially if chronically stressed.

Please don't blame me though if it all turns out to be cobblers. I'm not a medic, just an enthusiastic amateur. Smile

Flappyjack · 16/07/2018 11:07

Ah I see Sunny. Thanks for the advice.

I will pick up some Perrier and give it a try, along with a dose of mindfulness. I hate the thought of my rising anxiety levels affecting the DS's but I am sure they pick it up no matter how well I hide it.

BTW my absolute favourite is Badoit. Its just so....mineral-ey tasting. And sadly, very expensive.

SunnyLikeThursday · 16/07/2018 11:13

Exciting! I like the idea of extra minerally water.

ChristmasSeacow · 16/07/2018 14:07

£22 for a swim suit for DD (sunsafe thingy) from Jojo and £6 for a toddler music class. I resisted the expensive coffee shop between school run and class Halo. Dd napped for 2 hours when I got back but the Cleaner was here so sadly I couldn’t just go to sleep myself Grin. £50 Cleaner. I’m in two minds about stopping that bit as I am hoping to go back to work in the autumn and she’s really nice I might just have to keep her. There are hundreds around here but most are unreliable and rubbish. This lady doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable in my own house, that’s worth a lot!

More internet shopping beckons... I can’t find my midge mask so need to get a new one. Rain cover for my maclaren buggy also mysteriously has several holes in it after being in storage Hmm

Cagliostro · 16/07/2018 14:27

Phew, caught up with the thread.

That must have been scary wreck is that the highest your sugars have been? I’m glad you weren’t alone and could be looked after.

Just packing and decluttering today. Slow progress.

ChristmasSeacow · 16/07/2018 14:32

Sent you a PM Cag

WreckTangled · 16/07/2018 14:43

No cag there have been times they've been higher but not in the past five years. I think 27 is the highest I remember having. My control is so good now though that I feel ill if they get above 10/11. In fact I've recently been told off for running my levels too tightly ConfusedGrin

SunnyLikeThursday · 16/07/2018 15:06

What's the normal level and the units Wreck? I don't know anything about it.

WreckTangled · 16/07/2018 15:15

It should between 4 and 8 mmol/L for me. For a non diabetic you would expect it to be between 4 and 6.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/07/2018 15:53

Unexpected NSD.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/07/2018 16:37

Hospital appointment was quick so only £1.60 on parking, no answers from the consultant so back again in two months 😕

Spent £42 in aldi which is more than I expected but ended up getting loo rolls, bin bags etc have also got plenty of food.

Have bought a compost bin off a buy and sell site £15 if I can make my own compost this will save me money in the long run.

I have got some of those reusable pads em they are good but I'm not 100% confident they would be absorbant enough for the first couple of days of my period. I've also not quite worked out the best system for washing them or storing them before washing them (sorry tmi! !)

Cagliostro · 16/07/2018 16:43

27 Shock wow. It’s great that generally you have such great control though.

Annoying about lack of answers girlie how does DD feel about it all?

Cagliostro · 16/07/2018 16:46

I’d not really thought about that with the pads! I haven’t bought any yet - I am bleeding every two weeks Hmm but really light, so I’ve still got some bodyform left and I even found half a pack of slim maternity pads to use up too Blush :o

Cagliostro · 16/07/2018 16:47

Which of you lovely garden experts could tell me about house plants? I would like some, thinking cheeseplant as I love the leaves, snakeplant or fern or something? Any recommendations?

ChristmasSeacow · 16/07/2018 17:02

Are you after things that are hard to kill Cag? Wink

ChristmasSeacow · 16/07/2018 17:05

That must be frustrating Girlie. How is DD handling it?
