Em, I still feel like that if I see the school have phoned. DS is in Year 10!Grin

Good luck with your blood test, Sunny.

ChristmasSeacow · 19/04/2018 12:51

Thanks so much for all the kind wishes for DF. He’s comfortable but has said he won’t be going home again. I’m not sure whether he’ll go straight to a hospice or to a nursing home. Hospital discharge team is working on it. I’m going to see him on Saturday. In theory I can go in the week but I think it will be very tight to do it within the school day and I’d be really worried about traffic on the M11 making me late for school pick-up. Other mums have offered to help with DS after school but with his SN it just wouldn’t work - he wouldn’t understand and would panic. I’ll go every weekend and when things get very acute DH will take annual leave so I can go as needed. DF continues to be utterly brilliant - accepting, calm, grateful for a ‘wonderful life’ (even though he actually had a shitty childhood) and never, ever complaining. He’s always been very positive person but his attitude now makes me feel very proud and humble ❤️.

Anyway... spendy here. I bought crocs for DS and dd (can’t wait to see teeny crocs!) for going in and out of the garden, £28. That was with 30% off and free delivery. I also have a couple of massive baskets waiting to be pruned and then checked out (Next and Debenhams, summer stuff for DD and fat summer stuff for me). I won’t count the spends until I see what I’m keeping as I’ll probably order a few things in multiple sizes too. But need to be sensible-Ish!

Glad the time trial went well Lonely - I am amazed how much energy you put into this stuff.

Great weaning Cag and glad you had a good day at Chessington. DD is starting to play games with me re. Food - she’ll only eat something after watching me eat a bit, even of her usual ‘favourites’! I feel like one of those royal tasters of yore. I must say I am enjoying picking at her lunchtime quesadilla more than she is Wink

I also get the ‘feeling’ When I see school had called Em!

Hope you get some answers soon Sunny

Glad you sent the letter Wolf. I guess you might not get a response but it’s off your chest now!

Meadow Shock at DGPig costs! I agree you do what you gotta do. Will pm you, probably tomorrow.

It’s proper scorchio here today. I went into Jojo on our high street and it was chocablok with mums buying sun hats including me £10 there but at least it has straps under the chin so she can’t pull it off so easily. We lose a lot of hats...

I took dd to the park for her first go on the swings. We’ve got those brilliant ones where you sit opposite your baby and swing with them. She was petrified for the first minute, chuckling with glee for the next 3 mins and then shouting to get off. I think that counts as a success. Though I would have liked to swing for a bit longer myself.

WreckTangled · 19/04/2018 12:55

Seacow dd always had those hats. The swing sounds amazing!

ChristmasSeacow · 19/04/2018 13:14

They are Wreck!! It’s kind of one single moulded piece - a baby seat and then a facing adult seat. I suppose the other seat could be aimed at older kids and not necessarily parents. But I know what I think Wink

Wolfcub · 19/04/2018 13:26

Sea that swing sounds amazing. I love a good swing although the older I get the more nervous I get about swinging high.
£7 on a toastie and latte for breakfast which is sitting on my stomach like a royal corgi

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/04/2018 16:05

So sorry to hear about your dad seacow. I hope they can make him comfortable Flowers

Yesterday spend was £4.65 in Tesco.
Today has been a NSD, although i’ll spend some prime credit later as it has to be used by tomorrow.

I’ve just compared my wage slip for this month against my old job wage slip for February. I have more money coming into the bank and I don’t have to pay for the train out of that either Smile It feels weird to have a (far) smaller hourly rate but still be better off! The main other saving is before/after school care for DD1. We did do the calculations before, but it is great to see it in reality!

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/04/2018 16:44

I asked my new boss about my three month contract and whether it would continue. He basically looked at me like I was a moron, and said “well there is plenty of work for you to do.” That was me told! On the plus side, nowadays he doesn’t normally look at me like i’m stupid which is progress Grin

ememem84 · 19/04/2018 17:00

wolf I went on a proper swing the other day and swung/swinged? So high I thought I was going to go over. It was amazing #reckless

sea don’t suppose you could link to the hat? I bought ds a hat from Jojo yesterday without a strap.

He had a great day at nursery! They went for a walk - he loves the big 10 baby buggy. He apparently sat right at the front and sang and kicked his legs the whole way! Then had a nap the whole way back. He had curried veg and couscous for his lunch (ate a lot of it but some it all over his top and trousers). He’s looking much better now.

Less snot less eye goop. Happy boy again.

Ddad and I walked the beach today. Then stopped for lunch. Chicken pad Thai for me and a duck Thai salad for dad. We ate outside in the sun! I may have sunburned my arms. Oopsy.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/04/2018 17:15

Who knew we were all a bunch of swingers GrinGrin
I also love to go on the swings, and am very annoyed that the ones in local playground are only baby seats as I can't go on them Sad

CremeEggThief · 19/04/2018 17:20

Sounds like a lovely day for both you and DS, Em.

Seacow, it sounds as if things are as well as as can be expected at the moment. Thinking of you.

Laska, hope you have had a good day with your mum, too.

Apparently, it's been the warmest April day in the UK since 1949! Even reached 21°, here in Durham. It's been lovely, walking around in a teeshirt and jeans (it would have to be closer to 30° before I would consider shorts!) today. Spends: £4.95 on coffee and cake (which I had instead of lunch!) and £1 on milk.

CremeEggThief · 19/04/2018 17:21

Grin @ Mammy!

ememem84 · 19/04/2018 17:26

Oh £5.50 coffee with ddad. Black Americano and a flat white.

Wolfcub · 19/04/2018 17:31

love that’s very positive all round. I’m feeling the need to go to the park!

I was in a port town today in the north and it was a lovely 25 degrees. I saw the sea from a distance.

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/04/2018 17:43

I've had blood tests for all the other vitamin levels now too, which is very good. Find out which other ones I've cocked up. LOL!

I haven't reported back on the pelvic floor device yet, because I've realised it's too undignified to do with the others in the house, and when they're out I'm slightly nervous of electrocuting myself and ending up with a very embarrassing Darwin Award. I will try harder next week.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/04/2018 17:57

Is there no way of attaching baby hats to their tops?.

£5 aldi. Dh is low carbing (apparently wine & Yorkshire puddings aren’t carbs) so I am constantly buying salad & ham.
£2.70 Homebargains spuds, oxy bleach and apples.
£3 sausages.
£5 fuel.

Wolfcub · 19/04/2018 18:04

I need to go and buy bread or croissants I’ve just realised there is absolutely nothing for ds for breakfast tomorrow

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/04/2018 18:40

Ah bollocks ds got sunburn as I forgot he was at an outdoor sports thing today.

£11 Morrison's

I have 2 hr.57min to work at my old job tomorrow.

ChristmasSeacow · 19/04/2018 18:46

Sunny I’m sorry to say you are not eligible for a Darwin Award because you have a child. It’s for services to the gene pool ie eliminating the most stupid ones before they are passed on. So zap away! Grin

I’ll see if I can find the hat online and link Em but this range was girly colours. However, I’m sure they have boys’ ones with Velcro straps under the chin because DS used to have them.

Good £££ news Love. Makes it all worthwhile!

I e done the school run for 2 days in the sun and I have a LOT of freckles. Not pretty ones though. Ageing ones Angry

Bloody hell, dd is hard work with this sudden explosion of movement and ‘talking’. And opinion. And wannabe independence. She’s so moody! She’s currently trying (and failing) to turn the pages of a book on her own and she’s really shouting at it.

scattyspice · 19/04/2018 18:51

Very sweaty work day although I was working in the community (NHS) , so nice to be out and about 😎🌞.

Seacow your Dad sounds like a wonderful man.

NSD ☺.

ememem84 · 19/04/2018 19:00

Ds can sit up on his own. And wave his arms about. Mostly without falling over. I noticed this earlier. Yay. And man is he noisy!

sea I think I found the hats online. I don’t remember seeing them in store though which is annoying. Dh bought ds a baseball cap today. It is cute! Ds has already stuffed it in his mouth.

WreckTangled · 19/04/2018 19:10

Scatty I also work nhs in the community. I had stat training though 😭 and tomorrow I've got anaphylaxis and resus.

Dd always had those jojo hats, they're the best and they're a decent size so keep the sun off. Ds also used to like them Grin

Christmas That made me laugh so much. It's good to know that I can toast myself with a clear conscience. Bzort

MeadowHay · 19/04/2018 19:13

There's only one insurer who will insure guinea pigs, it's called Exotics or something, because they're classed as exotics the other companies won't insure them. Because they are the only one they are ridiculously expensive so over the course of his lifetime it was definitely not cost effective to insure him. A fair amount of the costs we incurred were taxis for transport as we don't drive and had no option but to get taxis everywhere and when he was at the specialist he was there once or twice a week and that was about £15 each way in a taxi each time. It would have been all a lot more expensive but the first few weeks he was treated at PDSA so we donated quite a lot but definitely not the full price of all the treatments and care there. But he was worth every penny, he was my little boy Sad.

I need to go and get some more maternity bits on the weekend for the rare occasions we get warm weather as I don't really have any suitable clothing for it. Being pregnant is more expensive than I thought it would be tbh. I don't have that many maternity clothes but it still always seems like I end up buying more and more. I have a 25% voucher for New Look though so hopefully can get some stuff with that, although they only seem to have about 3 skirts and no shorts from a quick look online Hmm. It's bottoms I need and maybe a couple of dresses.

Spends today were £2 on sushi and £1.65 on a muffin for lunch. Eeeek really need to sort this out and get back to sandwich making...

Wolfcub · 19/04/2018 19:15

life 2.47 that’s very exciting, enough time to clean out your ped, delete loads of stuff and say some goodbyes. Hope you’re doing something nice afterwards

wreck your little people pictures are lovely such lovely hair too

Em yay at ds sitting up on his own

WreckTangled · 19/04/2018 19:23

Dd always had such long hair! She could wear it in a bun by 2.5.
