That doesn’t sound great Sunny, worth getting checked out.

Dd is asleep in the buggy - this is nice for now but probably means she won’t nap this afternoon and will be a horror by bedtime. I’ve just mopped the floor in the kitchen /dining room /hallway so feeling gratified.

Ddad contacted hospital’s PALs at my suggestion, and I gave him some pointers on what to say about his appointment concerns. They’ve now got him in on Friday. Big relief not to have to go through another weekend without knowing what’s what. And I feel as though I have been a teeny bit useful to them too.

£22 in Tesco on top-ups but that included our Easter eggs in 3 for £10 deal. One for me, DH and Dmum. DS has got lots of little hollow wrapped ones from M&S as we usually do an egg hunt in the garden for him (though I’m not sure about the weather this year) . Poor dd isn’t allowed chocolate yet so she’ll just have to watch Grin

Taytocrisps · 27/03/2018 10:35

It's a horrible rainy day here. Glad I don't have to go out anywhere.

I've a Tesco delivery coming (€115.60). That includes wine and Baileys for Easter weekend. I love Baileys but I only order it at Christmas and Easter.

Scouts will be €3.

em sorry to hear DH is being an arse right now. I guess the stress of moving/not moving is getting to him. Not to mention MIL's impending visit. He has absolutely no right to dictate what you do and don't do (within reason obviously). Getting a spare car seat for your parents car is a very reasonable purchase - you don't want to be transferring the car seat between cars every time they mind him. What if you're running late some morning and just want to drop DS and run?

mammy glad to hear you're on the mend at last

SunnyLikeThursday · 27/03/2018 10:42

Thanks Christmas, yes I'm on the case here. That's why the ASD test.

That's great that you were able to help your parents. I know how much it feels good to be able to help when one's parents are in a stick situation.

Ds’ clothes done. Have sorted some to keep (in case....) and those are bagged and boxed. Have bagged and boxed (same box) my maternity clothes (in case...). Everything else has been put aside for dfriend who’s expecting or in a charity shop bag.

Have removed 4 pairs of dh’s shoes from the “Chester draws” (haha! This is one of my fb selling big bears...) and put back in the wardrobe.

Must get dressed properly. Plumber turned up again to sort a final drippy Tap. Wasn’t expecting it so threw on gym clothes from yesterday.

ChristmasSeacow · 27/03/2018 11:19

Just wondering how @Meadow is doing with DGPig. Did you get to go on your holiday this week? 🤞🏻

Also missing @Need and hope everything is okay there. Cag is quiet too.

Audit, I hope you are doing okay Flowers

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/03/2018 11:25

Ah it’s sweet when they think they can lay down the law like that. Dh forbade me to fit an electrical device into the mains once and was unimpressed with my “what you going to do? Stop my pocket money?” Response. Ignore and carry on. On mornings your running late you won’t want to swap car seats and £150 a week is £7200 a year saved. Or £28k if they can keep it up till school starts.

Sunny That’s the prostaglandins that start your uterus to contract faster to expel blood crossing over into the bowel. I used to get it too.

£1.50 on two guest towels in Jl. Dh wants orange towels 🙄 & it’s not worth having words over even though cerise pink is obviously the better match. I had a gift card for the balance.

£3 two round soaps in tk maxx for the new soap dish.
£6 toilet brush for the cloakroom from wilko. Both paid for in nectar points I’ve bought petrol with and transferred the money I would have spent. So basically free.

£9 aldi, cat food, 18 loo rolls quilted scented, fabric conditioner.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/03/2018 11:27

Needs Been gone about three weeks now. There’s no point sending a pm, she doesn’t get them unless she gets the laptop out.

I agree it’s worrying.

Lonely is quiet too.

SunnyLikeThursday · 27/03/2018 11:30

Fluffy Thanks, yes, I read about that. I think it's exacerbated in me by the food intolerance trouble, because that in turn causes nutritional problems. That's what I'm trying to fix. Also, with me it never happens on the first day of the period, but might be up to ten days later, or four days before, which seems a bit weird, especially when it happens for ten months running.

ememem84 · 27/03/2018 12:26

One thing I’m very good at is the ignoring a strop and just carrying on.

I’ve thought about all the “crap” I’ve brought into the house recently. It’s nothing too expensive. And all for me. With “my” money. (Salaries get paid into seperate accounts, then an amount gets paid into joint account to cover bills food mortgage nursery etc the rest is saved bar £300 a month each which is “play” money and In My case covers waxing nails riding and the occasional treat). I’m getting better at the decluttering. And have almost got my enotional clothes spending under control. I now bid on eBay for things. So sometimes I win. Other times I don’t. So get the “thrill” of spending even if I don’t spend iyswim.

Just taken 3 bags to the charity shop. And have swapped the baby clothes for a high chair. I’ve been there basically every day in the last 2 weeks (jokes with the guy about maybe they’d be better just bringing a van to our place and helping themselves...) he gave me £10 off anything in store. So I’ve paid £5 for a highchair. As a spare for dparents place it’ll be perfect. It needs a clean but I’ll do that this afternoon.

SunnyLikeThursday · 27/03/2018 13:20

I just went to meet a music teacher who I hoped would teach piano to ds, and she seemed perfect, except that she spent the whole discussion looking at my right ear instead of into my eyes, which was really disconcerting.

Thanks for new thread sunny

Pleased to say spurred on by all the positive encouragement here...I'm at the end of the month, in the black, 1000 in savings (just transferred over), savings set up for the children and still waiting for pay day tomorrow ShockGrin can't quite believe the difference with simply being frugal so thank you frugalleers!!

Now to continue this precedent , we used to have quite a bit in savings but all went into the house so building up again , will be trying to pop in every day

Well done for the declutter emem and yes I can understand you feeling emotional for getting your clothes spending under control so super well done for that too

AdoraBell · 27/03/2018 14:59

3 NSDs.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/03/2018 15:31

Wig That’s a fantastic achievement. Well done.

MrsOH2004 · 27/03/2018 16:00

Hi can I join?
Dh has new job and finally it's paye, he's been self employed for a long time, so we now have to get used to him being paid monthly instead of weekly, we went bank on Saturday and got a joint account, we've worked out what all the bills come to and he will be transferring that amount as soon as he gets paid,my wages will be for food, so meal plans and budgeting are something I'm going to have to get very good at.
Also trying to save the last lot of money for our holiday, and after the holiday I will be trying to save to do some home improvements.
Spends today was £55 in Asda, it's these that costs me the most money so I need to start buying in bulk or just pop to the local co-op.
NSD tomorrow hopefully and Thursday I will do the big shop.

MrsOH2004 · 27/03/2018 16:02

Forgot to mention, family of 6, eldest ds has moved out but I do occasionally get him some bits.
A dog who is getting old and fussy black cat who doesn't like any food that contains fish Hmm

SunnyLikeThursday · 27/03/2018 16:19

Welcome MrsOH. Smile That sounds very interesting moving from self-employed to PAYE. Will that save time on managing tax returns?

OP posts:
MrsOH2004 · 27/03/2018 16:29

Thank you Sunny, he pays an accountant as he worries he would get it wrong, he doesn't mind though as he normally gets enough back to pay the account and then a little spare Smile

WreckTangled · 27/03/2018 16:40

Welcome Mrs0h

Dd has been invited to attend an enrichment programme for reading, wiring and performing petty. The school put her forward Smile it's for years 3&4 and just dd and one other going.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/03/2018 16:48

Welcome Mrsoh.

Nsd today.

MrsOH2004 · 27/03/2018 16:55

Thank you Wreck and Lifelong, I really need to stop the trips to Asda during the week and to stick to my list.

Wigwigeconomist · 27/03/2018 16:58

Welcome mrsoh

Thanks fluffy Smile

Taytocrisps · 27/03/2018 16:58

Welcome MrsOH

MrsOH2004 · 27/03/2018 16:59

Oh and I must stop buying books, went to the library on Saturday and got 4 out.

SunnyLikeThursday · 27/03/2018 17:05

That's great Wreck. Well done her. She's a clever lass.

I had a day off again today. It was good. I always used to be too wired to just stop and rest and this new skill of actually stopping is really good.
