DP spent £55 in Tesco. Our dinner is all reduced stuff including some nice sounding ribs so he is learning

Wolfcub · 17/03/2018 16:11

Between the snow and the wind we are currently having a blizzard

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/03/2018 16:26

Quite That’s very interesting. Especially as gas is 3-4p per kWh so your using a 2 or 3kw device when your heatings off. Is the boiler off? The pilot light will be on but that will use a teeny amount of gas. That’s £2.16 a day if that 9p is 24hr. Start a thread in property/diy. That’s where the boiler people hang out. Before I binned our smart meter it would read zero when the heating and water were switched off.

Cag Well that’s annoying on both counts. Hopefully it’s food you liked.

£5 two Superdrug deep conditioners. Waiting for the cashback to track so I can price match with quidco.

QuiteCleanBandit · 17/03/2018 16:28

Ooops I should have mentioned that it went to zero shortly after GrinBlushfluffy
We are having hours of fun with this !
Why did you bin it ??

QuiteCleanBandit · 17/03/2018 16:34

Installer also said this was the new type so we wont have problems switching.
We are wondering if our old meter was dodgy as we have only spent 44p on electricity today ?

SnugglySnerd · 17/03/2018 16:35

It's freezing cold and blizzard like here so we've been out for tea and cakes just to get out. £9.60 with my discount card.

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/03/2018 16:36

We just went to a proper league football game. It was very loud so we stood in a corner next to the stand for fifteen minutes and it was really fun. Then we had to go home as the corner was not official audience space. It's was blizzarding on the pitch and everyone's cheeks were purple.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/03/2018 16:45

Quite Once I’d figured out the builders had left the immersion on I didn’t really need it. I had a monitor years before that you programmed your electric cost into and it told you how much things used so I knew which appliances used the most.

Wolfcub · 17/03/2018 16:59

Cag that is very very annoying, can you readjust your meal plan to make use of the extra food?

ememem84 · 17/03/2018 17:16

Ah the joys of sports spectating sunny

I’m not a football fan really. I’ve been to games with dh before but wouldn’t choose to go. I much prefer watching rugby live. Or American football. More of an atmosphere imo. Sadly we don’t get to do it often as travel to the U.K. is expensive. We could go to local rugby club here every week but I’d rather spend £££ on a trip to London for the weekend to see a match at Wembley or twickenham (like we do for the nfl or the rugby World Cup when it was in the uk last) than go every week. More of a treat.

Spends £27 riding.

And I’ve just bitten the bullet and bought reusable sanitary towels. £16 for 5. Just to try them out. I like the idea have always been put off by the ick factor. However since having ds my issues with “ick-ness” have subsided somewhat (yesterday’s poosplosion and subsequent emergency bath in the “big boy” bath at dparents is a prime example!!)

So I’ll give them a go. I’m conscious that disposable pads are expensive and although a necessity (or something is...) are dumping plastic every month. So will see.

Won’t be able to use them next cycle (next week) as they won’t arrive in time but next next time!

ememem84 · 17/03/2018 17:17

How annoying cag I hate it when that sort of thing happens.

Dh has been to the shop. He’s bought a pizza. And 12 eggs. Despite me buying 12 eggs yesterday. So we now have a lot of eggs. Guess it’ll be eggses for breakfast most of next week then!!

Wolfcub · 17/03/2018 17:24

Em lots of eggs is a great excuse for pancakes, Yorkshire pud, quiche, bread and butter pud and clafoutis here. Really i should eat omelettes but I’m so fed up of them after eating loads low carbing that I can’t even bring myself to think about them.

CremeEggThief · 17/03/2018 17:24

Great result there for Ireland in the rugby today!Grin

I've just ordered DS some new trainers online from Sports Direct. If you download the app, they give you 20% off on all purchases, at present.

ememem84 · 17/03/2018 17:46

What on earth os clafoutis?

I love eggses. Poached scrambled dippy omelette.

mammymammyIRL · 17/03/2018 17:57

Guess so em I slept from 2-5 soundly
Cag milanos used code from my email

QuiteCleanBandit · 17/03/2018 18:02

Ah ok fluffy
Still baffled by our bills as according to the meter thingy we have used 90p today ,our bill was aroung £3.50 a day before.
There are 3 of us here , DS is on the massive "seen from space "computer.
I haved baked 2 cakes and done 3 loads of washing .This is our heavy usage day so what is going on?
Hmm
I have 36 eggs in the house em🐔
Dhens are happily laying .
Have already used 4 to bake and 3 each in asparagus, spinach and mushroom omlettes for lunch.
Luckily we love them-portugese custard tarts my fav .

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/03/2018 18:05

It is odd. How long have you had the monitor?.

Wolfcub · 17/03/2018 18:07

Mmm Portuguese custard tarts god I love them.

Em clafoutis is a sweet batter dessert with fruit in it - cherries are best I think somewhere between a Yorkshire pud and a flan. Yum

QuiteCleanBandit · 17/03/2018 18:09

This morning Grin
But we wouldnt be here after 8 am in the week so virtually nil usage between 8-5 other than fridge etc
Will see how it pans out

QuiteCleanBandit · 17/03/2018 18:16

I have used reusable sanitary towels for yeats em and have a mooncup but the rare time I have a period (on minipill) its not heavy enough to need it.
Ive got a selection -Imse Vimse pant liners also .
Saves me a fortune,so much softer and nicer .

ememem84 · 17/03/2018 18:18

wolf that sounds ace. Will def look that up.

Dh has taken a load of the boxes to storage. Yay. House looks empty but less stressful.

ememem84 · 17/03/2018 18:23

quite good to know. I’ve been curiously sceptical about them for years. What if they leak? What if they’re not comfy? Etc. But unless I take the plunge I’ll never know. So plunge taken.

I’m not brave enough for mooncup yet. Again like the idea but baby steps.

It should save me money in the long run. I do have a ton of disposables to use too as I stocked up last year before I knew about ds. So will intersperse reusables with these and will hopefully gradually phase these out.

QuiteCleanBandit · 17/03/2018 18:28

I used to have very heavy periods and no leaks .
Sooo comfy-which ones did you get ?

ememem84 · 17/03/2018 18:34

These ones.

I also had a flick on to menstrual pants. Who knew they did these...

This beauty confused me for a while. Why the hole in the front. It was only when I read the description properly I worked it out. Had no idea this was even a thing....

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/03/2018 18:53

Let me know how you get on with them em I'm the same re being curious but haven't been brave enough to try them yet!!

cag that is rude and annoying, I'm not surprised your fed up.

It's snowed on and off all day but not settled so that's fine!

I joined the bday party at the cinema and watched The Greatest Showman, really enjoyed it as did all the girls.

Spent £11 in Aldi on a few bits, dd has a long day tomos as is doing a show so needed lots of pack lunch stuff.
