NSD today.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/02/2018 17:39

That's good news she is cancer free need.

Spent the afternoon writing competency example. Now I have lots of examples that I need to formulate into decent 250 words

QuiteCleanBandit · 11/02/2018 17:41

Glued to rugby and olympics here.
Sunny but intermittent hail/snow/rain

I buy all my vests/tshirts from Uniqlo .
Excellent quality and mine bought 4/5 years are still in perfect condition and lovely and soft.
Have some long sleeve Ts from Muji also-snuggly soft organic cotton.
Spent £19 on fruit and nuts.
Refund of £17.50 for 2 missing Amazon parcels plus £5 credit for inconvenience

Wolfcub · 11/02/2018 17:51

Good luck Life. I turned 1500(ish) into 250 on Friday. No idea if it’s a good 250 though.

Quite the rugby has been pretty good this weekend, I’ve been indulging.

Wolfcub · 11/02/2018 17:52

Girlfriend glad the party went well and Need helping your friend to celebrate that milestone is a wonderful thing

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/02/2018 18:23

You too wolf. If you want to pm and share tips let me know. I'm going for SEO.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/02/2018 18:28

Well done Quiet, £5 is better than a poke in the eye. I always complain if something goes wrong.

Moanranger · 11/02/2018 18:36

Lonely waffles look lush!
Got up from my sickbed today to groom for daughter. Too much standing around in bitter cold with this bad chest, but at least she won her class - she has been working very hard. Brought sandwiches & flask, so avoided the usual bacon sandwiches.
59p on a pint of milk, but £56 on diesel. Only up side is price per litre was £1.20 which is lowest I have seen around here.
Back to bed - wish chest would loosen up Sad

Wolfcub · 11/02/2018 18:41

Life, I may just do that, I’m going for 7, my TCA post finishes before summer so I need to find something permanent.

Frugally repurposed the leftover cauli cheese from lunch as cauli Mac and cheese for ds’s tea with added ham and cheese and tomato on top.

Ocado order coming later. Dh and I are still full from lunch. Cleaned and tidied the fridge in anticipation of the delivery.

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 11/02/2018 18:48

Lonely those waffles look amazing! Thanks for the banana cookies recipe too - I used up some old bananas today doing something similar but deffo need to get cocoa powder involved in the future!!

NSD today. Spent £70 in Sainsbury's yesterday stocking up o cupboard stuff as we had a voucher for an extra 1400 points...on top of a triple points voucher and 500 from last week's event. Over 2k in points yesterday and will only need to buy fruit/veg for the next month - our cupboards are overflowing!!

I also used GreenJinn for the first time on things I needed to buy anyway so expecting a few £ back from that too. Got that tip from one of you lovely ladies so thanks for that!!

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/02/2018 19:00

We're on holiday now and actually booked to go on a holiday to Colchester, so that's exciting. That's my second big travelling since burning out, so I'm concentrating on the idea of a longish drive and planning lots of stops.

I've just finished making my third video, so really pleased about that. Cost nothing too, so a very good way to pass the time when ds is at school.

WreckTangled · 11/02/2018 19:05

I need a holiday. Am thinking a villa in Spain for next year. Flights likely to be the most expensive part as you can get some lovely villas with private pool, near the beach for about £80 a night. The dc will love it.

Wrongwayup · 11/02/2018 19:14

back from holiday - so now very cold and broke - had a lovely time but always have to add ££££ to holiday to have animals - have more than just 4 old retired horses looked after. but good news is no one needed the vet - I swear usually they all wait until I am gone.......probably wasn't the best time to go part time - oh well

Unescorted · 11/02/2018 20:07

wreck try splitting your journey somewhere in Europe.... We saved loads going via Munich one way and Berlin the other.

Those waffles are awesome looking.

needastrongone · 11/02/2018 20:09

Hope the writing turns out okay life.

Many many hours spent in the cold and wet and elements for Dd and the pony moan, not great when you are ill. Well done to your Dd though. Teaches them so much commitment and dedication.

Yes, it's great re my friend. She had a difficult few weeks a couple of months ago as she thought it had returned. She was struggling to run (she's run throughout the whole time, refuses to give in) without pain. Turns out she had a bulging discs but everything like this triggers the fear. Wonder if that ever fades...

Sainsbury's bank have given me 10,000 Nectar points, nice boost.

WreckTangled · 11/02/2018 20:11

Unescorted I always go via sky scanner which does show you the option of doing that. Is it ok with children? I suppose after New Zealand it'll be a doddle Grin

Laska5772 · 11/02/2018 21:12

Ooh it was v exciting looking at Motorhomes today.. We think we may have found 'the one' . However . we are not quite ready to buy it ! Well we could .. but we have other plans for this year .. (and there is the small matter of the fact that we've not left work yet .but exciting all the same )

Good visit to DParents.. They were in good spirits ( much better than i have seem them lately ) . I have eaten for Britain though.. had better not eat again for at least two days if I want to lose any weight this week ! Grin

SnugglySnerd · 11/02/2018 21:18

Grrr lost my post. Gist of it was NSD and amazing waffles Lonely!

Wolfcub · 11/02/2018 21:28

Lonely do you have an electric waffle maker? Is it worth the money?

Cagliostro · 12/02/2018 00:41

As instructed by em here’s my three things I’m grateful for

  1. Closer relationships with DH’s family. They popped round today, generally I get really stressed at impromptu visits but it was good
  2. Nice long chat with DH after work
  3. Ben and Jerry 😂😋

Spends £1ish on bread as SIL took the Caglets to the shop. We are really low on several things though so will probably do a mini shop tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/02/2018 07:20

Off out today. Probably national trust or Beamish. Will take a pic nic but might go to the tea shop if its very cold.

SunnyLikeThursday · 12/02/2018 07:40

That's great Cag.

My three things are:

  • Being in much better health than three years ago
  • getting my science grant, which gives me such a lot of fun
  • having my parents moving here soon
  • Ds doing so much better these days
  • Dh having a very high threshold for inconvenience. LOL!

That was five, but it seems a shame not to mention it all.

ememem84 · 12/02/2018 07:50

Mine for yesterday were:

New bedding - so comfy
Understanding family
Pork. Crackling. - mum made a roast pork from local meat yesterday. It was delicious.

Today we have to post office to pick up amazon orders and to post an eBay sale.

Nsd yesterday.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/02/2018 08:06

Ok mine are

Fab, funny DC (when they are not moaning)
Nice food yesterday
Sunshine yesterday

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/02/2018 08:56

If anyone's looking for frugal weekend breaks buy a gift do a weekend package b&b in various hotels for £99 it's on a permenant "reduced from £199!" 🙄

There's often a 25% off code so £75.

Cashback >15% brings it to £62 b&b. Cheaper than a premier inn.
