Em Yes I know what you mean. I think it's down to what we know we would be comfortable with our relatives reading, and what they would be comfortable with having posted. My folks are nice and I don't want to hurt their feelings.

Funnily enough, by ds loves reading MN. Sometimes when we are super-bored we sit down the read some of the funny long threads from classics and he roars with laughter, especially at the usernames.

I told him that I bought a treadmill and he didn't look especially non-plussed. Fingers crossed it helps.

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 08:08

mammy feet are fine. 🤣

Ds is sat on my lap chuckling at present. I’m playing him the “baby shark song” he thinks it’s hilarious. No idea why as it’s bloody annoying.

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 08:09

I was reading another thread and someone posted about her 9month old being 19lb.

Ds is 18lb. At 4 months.

mammymammyIRL · 09/02/2018 08:23

wreck completely get that. My dh was -is- - was- is the same. I've often said to him they'll be grown up like your other children and you'll have missed out because of jobs that so important to him which don't matter at all in the grand scheme of things. And then before Christmas he stood on his -podium- Grinthe stairs and preached at me that I'd want to think about all my commitments work and otherwise because the dc get such joy out of the little things that I do with them and you should do the same. THREE BLOODY YEARS I'VE BEEN SAYING THAT TO HIM Angryx1000

But I console myself that dc will remember me being there and all the things I do with them when they're younger and will know which parent was more involved on a daily basis. Now they think he's god whenever he deigns to give them some of his time Confused

Mammy my dc also think dh is the best person ever. He is great most of the time but things like this really annoy me

mammymammyIRL · 09/02/2018 08:30

Children differ I guess em like people vary in weight too.

Your ds isn't overweight for his size and theirs may not be underweight depending on their frame.

My au pair's friends have two children, both have been in preschool with ds, so one maybe 6 months younger than him and one 6 months older. They are long very lean children and ds is short and looks like he could swallow either of them, yet he's not chubby at all Confused Just genetics I guess and diet too.

Did ye know that apparently our bodies and breadth smell like meat to those who come from countries whose diet doesn't focus on meat? Shock I can't believe I got to almost 35 without knowing this.

Any of the vegans/vegetarians on here find people stinky? Smile

Mammy, Wreck my ds has always been like that too. I run myself ragged around him but daddy is god

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 08:35

It’s crazy mammy ds was in the 50th percentile when he was born. Nice and average. Now he’s something like 91st. He is going to be a big boy! But then I’m tall, dh is tall (ish - he’s 5’9 I’m 5’10) my dad is 6’5 so I wouldn’t be suprised if ds is a 6footer.

Don’t want to gym now. Have my gym gear on but am pondering slinking back to bed when Dm gets here (she’s going to sit with ds while I gym). She probably won’t let me though.

🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ To the gym I go....

mammymammyIRL · 09/02/2018 08:48

wreck it's grates on me sometimes when the minutes with him seem to mean more to him than the hours with me but then I'm also happy that the dc have both their parents as their brothers and sisters lost their mother too soon Sad

Agh! Every time I read and catch up I am interrupted before I can post.
Anyway it's been a bit of a spendy week due to illness preventing proper planning.
Today should be NSD though and next week will hopefully be more organised!

SunnyLikeThursday · 09/02/2018 09:11

Em Your ds sounds like mine in that respect. He was born I think at 75 percentile for height and 21st for weight. Then shot up to 91st for height and 75th for weight. Oddly though, he has evened out nicely and is not overly tall or overly solid, but just a nice tall, well built-boy. It sounds as thought have a fine, well-built chap there too.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/02/2018 10:14

I think my dd now weighs less than your DS em, though 3 months older! She looks fine though and I’m sure your DS does too. There’s a big range of ‘normal’ for babies, which I find quite fascinating. She won’t be getting any bigger at the mo as she’s off her food and has has diarrhoea for 3 days (tmi, sorry). She’s keeping hydrated though so I guess we just wait for it to pass and keep the washing machine busy! She’s come down with a cold too, which explains the misery yesterday.,

Off to Sainsbury’s in a mo. It’s not my usual spot but it is a DPD drop off (parcel coming Cag!). Mustn’t be too tempted by the novelty of a different supermarket, just need something for dinner tonight before Ocado comes tomorrow.

SnugglySnerd · 09/02/2018 10:54

Snap Christmas! We have the same bug going round here. Fed up of doing washing!

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 11:05

Gym done. I really had to force myself to go. but went and although i only did 45 minutes i feel better for it. DM stuck around and fed ds while i had a shower a cup of tea and some porridge. she mentioned about me not needing to lose weight...but i had to point out that the gym for me is not about weight loss. its about mental health.

ds is supposed to be napping. he isn't. but i'm letting him get on with it.

i've gone my gp bill insurance reclaim so will have around £60 back in my account shortly.

want to try and get to post office today as have parcels to collect. hoping its my storage boxes.

LonelyOversharer · 09/02/2018 11:05

I just went into Sainsburys...and walked back out again! No school uniform in, what nonsense is this?

£21 in Lidl, tiny top up, only as much as I bought a kilo of nutella (yes a brand, and I know it's full of palm oil, but it's the only way ds will eat bread). This will last about 2 months.

All my dc have been so different with their weights. Dd1 was in tiny baby clothes for 6 weeks, then was in 6-9 months at 1. She grew 6" in year 6, and is a stone heavier than me at 15. Dd2 was one of those concrete babies. She wasn't a big baby, but heavens you knew it if you picked her up. She is very chunkily built now. At 11 she is able to wear grown up size 10 clothes, and we haven't tipped into puberty quite yet. I do hope she'll end up tall. Dd3 and ds are in their right size for age clothes, always have been.

Thanks for all your help with parcel force. Dp is messaging through their 'gateway' and if we are no further forwards we'll do what meadow suggested, thanks fluffy for the contact details. It's just too much money to let go.

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 11:16

should add, I'm not worried about ds' weight. he looks all in proportion, he's just a very solid boy! also when i've taken him for weighing, i'm sure if there was an issue someone would have mentioned it! he's long as well. and absolutely superbly handsome.

watching the 'lympics now. i had no idea south korea was snowy. or had mountains. which sounds ridiculous because i knew where it was .but seeing it on the tv sort of threw me.

i love watching the 'lympics. i coincidentally had two weeks off work when the london 2012 ones were on. i sat and watched so much sports it was unreal. and sports i didn't even know were done to olympic standard - gymnastic trampoline...? who knew! looking forward to ski jump, skelebob (mostly because this one is so freaking terrifying - and they steer with their bum cheeks apparently...how on earth do you learn to do that?) and figure skating. Ive always fancied myself as an ice skater. i can skate. forwards only. and can't stop. so thats my olympic dreams shattered (also we have no permanent ice rink here and lack of snow...oh and I'm too old).

Wolfcub · 09/02/2018 11:32

Em I love the olympics too so may put it on in a bit to keep me company in competency hell.

Ds discovered he had no clean pants for school - this is because he hides his washing rather than putting it in the basket. Luckily we found some lurking in the bottom of his pj drawer. I also found a lot of things hidden in his room that he shouldn’t have so we have had words.

Blind people coming to for new living room blind later. Once I saw the one in the kitchen I decided to order immediately. The blind in the living room has been broken and unuseable for more than a year (more like two or three I think) and having one makes me feel more secure as we were burgled by having someone throw a rock through out window when ds was little. The police felt a blind would have been a deterrent. I’ve done the joint account budget this morning and I think I can cover the second payment for the living room one from that rather than using my cc which dh and I need to pay back.

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 11:39

Have learned that Nigeria are the only African country to have a women’s bobsleigh team.

There’s a movie in there somewhere....

Cagliostro · 09/02/2018 11:40

Woke up to the Caglets learning about South Korea (will do some about North too and compare... and they’ve watched some of the coverage on the telly. Olympics and Korea will also feature on the spelling list this week 😂

I haven’t made it downstairs yet but will have to shortly as DH will be leaving for work. I have somehow avoided all the winter bugs thus far but seem to be having a pain flare up anyway. Yay.

Cagletini is actually napping in her basket. She’s so quiet I thought DH must have taken her back downstairs 😳😂

Cagliostro · 09/02/2018 11:43

A movie about a bobsleigh team em it’ll never work 😄

Damn spoke to soon about the nap

Wolfcub · 09/02/2018 12:07

Wow Tonga. That cheered up my morning

Cagliostro · 09/02/2018 12:29

Oh I missed it what happened

WreckTangled · 09/02/2018 12:31

£53 Aldi. Well over our food budget the last few weeks Sad it's just so expensive and half term next week means I've had to get extra bits in too.

Also I win worst parent award today. I watched assembly and as ds was leaving he started signalling he wanted me then started crying and I let him go, by the time I got out of the hall he was just walking into the classroom. I feel awful.

Wolfcub · 09/02/2018 12:37

Cag - the Tongan flag carrier is a well defined, well oiled hunk.
