Oh wow! I’ll have a look. Thank you. I didn’t think it was too bad for a family but obviously not a necessity.

MessySurfaces · 04/02/2018 17:54

chocola mattresses, car parts and insurance are all occasional expenses though, so as you get into the swing of things you will be able to put little bits of money by each month for that sort of stuff. And the month with money left over will come!!

Unicorndiscoball · 04/02/2018 17:59

Gah, the chicken we’d got for tea had a shorter date than we thought and it had gone off Sad and the shops were shut as it’s sunday. however I used dh’s Card to pay for takeaway pizza Grin so therefore it was free Wink we were planning to have takeaway on Friday post-interview so we just shifted it to today instead... I do look at other people who seem to not spend money like water and wonder if they all just know something I don’t. On paper we should be very comfortable. But I fritter terribly and am only now at the age of 36 trying to really get a handle on it.

PootlesLovelyHat · 04/02/2018 18:26

NSD for me - woohooo

Mind you I haven't actually left the house Hmm

coffeecow · 04/02/2018 20:03

My night out yesterday (Day 3) was a total lucky success. Didn't drink much and what I did drink was bought for me by other people (I hadn't mentioned I wasn't spending money, people just kept bringing me one over then leaving before I could buy them on in return) so got lucky. Actually only spent £1 which was change I gave to someone who asked if I had any spare. Then today was a complete NSD. Very successful weekend!

Hope you all managed a frugal one too!

Equimum · 04/02/2018 20:05

Technically a NSD for me, although DH did fill-up the car! Would have also been a NSD yesterday if I hadn’t forgotten to take the 59p Card I had bought with us to a kids party. Ended up paying £1.50 in Londis!

Planning to have NSD until Thursday, when I’ll pay £2 for toddler group.

Littlechocola · 04/02/2018 20:19

MessySurfaces true!

It’s just so frustrating. I will have a couple of over time days in this months pay so hopefully it will be better.

Littlechocola · 04/02/2018 20:19

NSD here.

PirateYellowbelly · 04/02/2018 21:03

Spent £3 on snacks today to help get me through a mountain of paperwork. Unnecessary but cheaper than eating out which we were very tempted to do. Should have a run of NSDs all being well.

drspouse · 05/02/2018 08:29

I did well (for me) with no fabric, yam, clothes for me or except for essentials (eBay tights) for the DCs in Jan. Am going to continue in this vein for Feb and hopefully Lent too and maybe treat myself at Easter.
NSD yesterday and today so I need is some juice for DS to take his medicine (and we have a milk bill to pay). Also I have a PayPal balance having sold some stuff, and a bid on an item on at the moment, so my odd household purchase from eBay should be funded from that.
I made some panty liners yesterday. I think I like the fleece backed ones better than the waterproof backed ones. And they were all from scrap.

drspouse · 05/02/2018 08:29

*all I need

Orangecake123 · 05/02/2018 09:51

NSD yesterday!

monkeywithacowface · 05/02/2018 09:59

I'm in. Did well in January and managed to save up £600. Hoping to save similar in February although have a family wedding, half term and DS's birthday coming up this month so more "mindful" spending than no spending!

PollyShelbyLifeCoachServices · 05/02/2018 14:14

NSD yesterday and daughter off school ill today, so stuck in all day, another NSD this end.

mamapants · 05/02/2018 15:03

NSD today.
Tomorrow I'll need to pick up some meat from the butcher and some bread and crisps for lunches.

drspouse · 05/02/2018 16:50

I just got a Boden refund from some Christmas presents.
I won't spend it. I really won't!

PirateYellowbelly · 05/02/2018 17:15

NSD and stuck at work for at least another hour and a half so think I'll get through without spending. Hoping for another NSD tomorrow.

Orangecake123 · 05/02/2018 18:07

NSD today despite being tempted to walk into the supermarket but I knew I wouldn't just buy one item, so I didn't go in all together.

£12 squandered on lunch out because of timing Hmm

NSD yesterday, Saturday I bought a coffee while shopping for veg and meat for the week.

Will probably buy coffee out tomorrow between appointments.

madamefraser · 05/02/2018 18:51

Have had weekend away budgeted for , but thank came away with minimum spend ! Still good weekend..didn't got to the spa on offer for an extra zillion quid so happy about that as I would have been disappointed I think and can get something cheaper close to home another time..
Tonight seeing friends out for cheap meal then that's my last personal extravagance though I do still have half term to get through.......

Chimichangaz · 05/02/2018 20:42

Spent a bit more than planned yesterday due to discovering I've got a mouse in my kitchen under sink cupboard so bought some traps Confused

Today I spent 2.70 parking at hospital, 17.20 on prescriptions and £1 on books at the charity shop. Aiming for NSD tomorrow.

Oh and made myself a nice leftover dinner of pasta, frozen broccoli, chorizo and cheese. And ciabatta with homemade garlic butter.

ivykaty44 · 05/02/2018 20:44

We don’t count essentials and prescriptions, noise traps are certainly essential....

I had a NSD today

Won’t have one tomorrow as meeting friends for coffee and having a pedicure 😂 💅

NSD for me today. I'm loving seeing a relatively healthy bank balance. Am on maternity leave pittance, so it's not all that high, but usually by this time each month I would be counting down the days until pay day!
